Wow my comment, "I'm going to have to marry a Red Wing fan though, or it may not happen" has turned this discussion from seasons tickets to dating and marriage . Atleast those of you who are looking for a Wings fan to marry, you live in the Detroit Area. I'm in the Toronto area, making it a little tougher. Oh well, if I have to convert my future wife from the Blue and White to the Red and White, I will. I've converted a couple friends already, and a 3rd is on the way, so I can handle one more.

2000-01 was the hardest for me to swallow. Stevie and Shanny were both injured, and we blew a 2-0 series lead and couple late leads in LA. The last 3 years, were tough, but not as bad as 2000-01 I found. Winning 3 Cups has satisfied me to a certain extent as a fan. The last 3 playoffs have shown me how tough it is to win the Cup, which has given me a shot of pride knowing I've seen my team win 3 times. I still want to see more Cups though..... Before we won our 3 cups, 1993-94 was really tough as well. Atleast in 1992-93 we lost to Toronto, but 1993-94 was to San Jose!! Brutal!

I don't like to call McCarty's hit on Lemieux a sucker punch. Mac came right at him, Lemieux saw him coming, so it wasn't a sucker punch. It was one of those nights when you knew something was going to happen because Lemieux continued to add fuel to the fire when he made all those comments about making Draper's career and helping him earn an extra $100,000. Plus the Wings were showing the Avs and Lemieux that they weren't going to be pushed around, and wouldn't take Claude's sucker punches to Kozlov and guttless hit on Draper without payback. Mac was protecting the team. Also, Lemiuex had a history of this kind of behaviour, and he needed to be put in his place. Claude pretty much stopped after Mac got him back. Who knows, Mac may have protected not only the Wings, but other team's players from continued Lemieux hits from behind? I know I'm Detroit biast, but I think the Leafs should get back NJ's Cam Janssen for his hit on Kaberle. Players shouldn't have to put up with players who drill the opposition when they know they aren't ready for it.

Good, because I get NBC from Buffalo, so I'll get the Rangers game . I'm glad TSN is going to pick up the Wings game .

Dude there's still time. I figure I probably won't be able to get season tickets until I'm like 60. That's in 30 years. It doesn't help that I'm 4 hours from the Joe. I'll have to retire first, then move to Dearborn or Ann Arbor. I'm going to have to marry a Red Wing fan though, or it may not happen . How long have you had them?

We pretty much have 4th spot locked up, just as long as everyone is ready to go for the playoffs. Some of these injuries will give our core guys a rest. We'll be fine.

I don't mind the rough stuff, but people like that should be thrown out of the league. Players who are involved in the play, trying to creating scoring chances, playing to win, etc. shouldn't have to worry about punks taking their heads off for no reason. It's called having respect for each other. What did Kaberle ever do to deserve a hit like that?

I was in Buffalo in 1999 and 2000, lots of Wings fans. The Sabres got booed taking the ice in their own arena, and the Wings got cheered like they were at home, since Wings fans got there first.

I know Lindsay has a locker because he still skates. Just sure about Howe. Maybe Yzerman doesn't have a locker because he hasn't put the skates on. I read somewhere since he retired he's only skated once, and he's not planning on it for the rest of the year. Edit: They really can't retire/honor lockers or else they'll be none left.

KrazyGangsta I like your lines for next year. I'm all for letting Lang, Schneider, and Maltby go. I really can't add or take away from what you have said. I hope Datsyuk is willing to make $4-5 million.

I think the thing is most Leaf fans are just frustrated. Edit: I have to admit, I know a few Canadiens fans. I like Montreal fans. I think Habs and Wings fans are similar. We're a little more laid back because we're satisfied/content. We have recent history to fall back on. Of course the arrogance comes out at times.

Understandable. I pretty much force myself to just stay here because I'll get involved with the converstations/arguments. I've kind of learned from experience. Edit: As you can tell from some of my posts, I can get arrogant when fans from other teams try and say something. It's better if I just stay here with Red Wings fans .

In our case, it's more isolated, unlike Toronto where it's the entire arena. I agree with your original comments, the booing last night at the ACC was uncalled for. Fans should be booing Management, not the players.
