I'm a guy and I don't like Jessica Simpson, she's annoying. Now she's on Pizza Hut commericals. I'm big on credibility, and she doesn't have any.

I we get Smyth, it would be like when we got Luc in 2002. Getting Smyth would be a dream since he's a hometown boy in Edmonton, but you never know. After Forsberg went to Nashville, I think Holland is going to pull off something huge!! I'm just thinking outloud here, but if Datsyuk leaves at the end of the year, we'd have money available to sign Smyth long term.

Still though, we won the Central Divison and Presidents Trophy. It was a fun 82 regular season, I wouldn't trade that. The Leafs were embarassed more for not even making the playoffs. A .500 team gets in. I think some people put to much attention into how far teams make it in the playoffs. A couple bounces determines a series, the 1st round favors the underdog, so the outcome is to up in the air. In my opinion, 1 team wins it all, 15 don't. If you don't, you make changes and try again next season. Look at the Oilers this year, they won't even be in the playoffs. What good does it do them now that they got hot, had some breaks go their way for 2 months in the spring of 2006, and lost in the finals? No one remembers who lost the Final, they remember who won.

All I have to say is this guys is full of s***. Only a Leaf fan could be obnoxious enough to say something like that. The sad thing is, I know some people who would say the same kind of thing. Idiots! I've had Leaf fans say to me that the Wings were a bunch of chokers. Funny a team that has won 3 Cups and made it to 4 Stanley Cup finals since 1995 are chokers. Seeing my team win the Stanley Cup 3 times was unreal. I would happly trade a few early playoff exits for 3 Stanley Cups. Atleast when we don't win the Stanley Cup, we add another Division Championship and President Trophy banner to the rafters. I'd take those over a losing trip to the Conference Finals anyday. I feel sorry for Leaf fans. Their team lets them down every year. They just keep taking and taking losing and never try and send a message to Management by not going to games. I guess they get what they deserve.

Good call NN. It's not worth it.
-
I've been thinking the same thing for about a week now.
-
I agree, keep Lang around.
-
I think Tkachuk is physically scarier.
-
The Wings will respond.
-
Yup, you just never know with that guy.
-
All I can say is WOW!!

Wow, check out Calgary, they're Capacity PCT% is 112.3%!? How does that work? Are people standing in the isles? It's sad the best team so far in the regular season, Nashville, is at 85.9%. Right, it'll never happen. We're to valuable in the West. Columbus will move East.

Yeah I have to laugh when I hear people talk Hamilton. The Leafs alone wouldn't allow it, they own regional rights to Hamilton. Plus another team in Ontario would hurt The Sabers attendance. The NHL wouldn't want that. The only markets that could work in Canada are Winnipeg and Quebec City again, but I highly doubt it'll happen anytime soon.
-
I think Seattle would be a good NHL market.
-
I don't think visors should be mandatory. It should be up to the players to decide if they want to wear one or not. If I was an NHL player I would choose not to wear one. The visor tends to fogg up, and causes problems with vision sometimes. I wouldn't blame anyone for wearing one though.

I would think celebrating 40 years since your last Championship would be embarrassing more than anything else. I wouldn't have liked it if the Wings in 1995 had a big celebration for the 1954-55 Championship team. I wouldn't want the 40 years to be given more attention and remind the rest of the League how long it's been. Leave it to the Leafs to do something like this and draw more attention to how bad the organization is run. I think if it was up to them, we'd still have 6 teams. You still have the Ontario Teachers Union as a part owner. All they care about is money for their pension. If the Leafs were serious about winning, they'd try and trade Sundin, Tucker, McCabe, Kaberle, etc. at the deadline and rebuild. I have a lot of respect for Philly and what they are doing. They blew it all up, and in a few years will be one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference again.

Were would Larionov rank? I heard he was considered the Russian Wayne Gretzky in the 1980's.
-
I hope we don't get Nolan. How would he help? We need someone who can physically scare people. If we get Tkachuk or Lapoite, I'm happy.
-
That's to bad. Bootland could have been a crowd favorite in Hockeytown.
-
I wonder who'd top a list of Greatest Russian player ever? Larionov or Fetisov?
-
Oh yeah I noticed that game went into a SO. Instead of watching it, I turned it to King of Queens re-runs. Kerry is sooo hot!
-
Fedorov no doubt in my mind tops the list. He was an outstanding two way player and has won a number of individual/team awards so far in his career. Fedorov in his prime could do it all, and we saw it first hand.

MLive: Forsberg talk heats up, deal "in days"?
Barrie replied to Howe's Bony Elbow's topic in General
Thanks for that info. Man, I really hope we don't give up Filppula, Grigorenko, and a 1st for Forsberg. It's not worth it. I agree. You know if Peter doesn't get traded, he's signing somewhere else for next season.
