Sabres are up 1-0 vs. SJ after 2. If they hold on, the Leafs fall to 11th.
-
Just like the Datsyuk injury, better to get these out of the way now.
-
Yea, but everyone knew who Lindros was, even in the Jrs.
-
Yea I remember the Kariya-Selanne bargain deals. My comment was towards the Hatcher contract. And Lindros was all the rage then. Primeau was considered the next Lindros.
-
Primeau lead to Shanahan, so it worked out.

No salary cap, those were the days.

Nice way to break out of the losing streak , keep it going boys! I was following the Wings game online, I watched the Leafs-Panthers on TV. I like watching the Leafs lose
-
Everyone is blaming Reimer and Gustavsson, but the defense has been horrible! Way to many turnovers. Tonight fans were chanting, "Fire Wilson". I still think it would be better if they didn't go to games. Only 1 point out of 11th!

Leafs down 2-0 already, Florida scored 15 seconds into the game. Even I'm starting to feel bad for Leaf fans, this collapse is cruel.

For people upset Holland ONLY made the Quincey deal at the deadline, I was reading that teams don't like to trade with the Red Wings. They don't want to make the Wings stronger. And I'll add, Holland wins most of the deals he makes so the other GMs probably up what their asking for when Kenny calls.
-
Yea, I didn't know the Ward deal turned out to be Hudler. Yea, again, other than Green (who's been injured for two years), he didn't give up any big names trading his 1st round picks. Maybe he knew the draft those years were weak anyway
-
Great list! With the different colors it was tough on the eyes, and made it look 3D How many GM have a resume like Holland? No one's even close! He's come out ahead on most of his deals, and it's about 80-90% ahead. Also 8 years later I still think that Lang deal was good, and would do it again. Green hasn't had a good season in 2 years, and who know if he'll ever be the same player. Lang helped us get to the Conference Finals in 2007, giving the rest of the team the confidence they needed, without Yzerman, for the 2008 Cup run.

I'll add to the rivalry between Michigan and Ohio and say, "If ever you're feeling down about the state of Michigan with the current slow economy, turn thy head and look to southward, and instead be eternally grateful".

Deadline day is overrated. Other than Carter and Quincey, the only players that got moved this year, like other years, are bottom 6 forwards, and 5th and 6th defense men. It's been that way since the lockout, but every year TSN and Sportsnet sucks us all in to thinking it'll be like it was before the lockout. Seriously, I looked over the list of guys who got traded, other than Carter, there really wasn't anyone traded that was better than who we already have. Most of those guys traded were over valued, and the teams that got them lost the deal because they gave up to much. It wasn't worth it. Also, don't forget, the Wings didn't stand pat, Holland got Quincey last week.

Would you trade Emmerton for Gaustad straight up? I wouldn't! -

I don't understand what the big deal is that we didn't get a 29 year old Center who's never scored more than 12 goals in a season. I'll take a 23 year old Emmerton, with 6 goals in 52 games, anyday over Gaustad's 7 in 56. I hope Nashville gave up a 1st rounder for him, because they would have got hosed! -

I was thinking the same thing. If we got Quincey today, people wouldn't be so upset. -

Either it's good timing with being sick, or a good plan to "fake" being sick today. -

I've heard interviews with Canadian sports tv/radio personalities, and they hate trade deadline day. I've heard them say the day hasn't really had any meaning since the lockout, and most of the time they're just sitting around bored out of their minds. To help them out I've decided not to watch it on TV, give their websites any hits, or listen to sports talk radio. Sounds like they'd appreciate less ratings With that said, I'll just give this website/forum more traffic. -

That's some horrible spelling. In their attempts to be the first one to report it, there's no time to read their tweets over before posting.

As mentioned earlier, I said the Leafs would finish 12th at the beginning of the season. I got some, "you're a hater" comments from friends, but Tampa and Buffalo are only 3 pts behind them, so it could still happen.
