Suck it Boston! We tied your "actual record"! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3b9gOtQoq4

How 'bout "Jetertown"? I agree.
-
Yes to Seattle, No to Expansion.

When I hear Burke go on one of his idiotic rants, first of all I change the station, and second, I think that Burke would never last as GM in Detroit. Us fans and the local media would never put up with him.

Yea those are funny. I had a friend who's a Leaf fan say, after I suggested the Leafs would have to give up Lupul or Kessel in a trade for Nash, that the Leafs may only have to give up Schenn, an AHL player, and a draft pick for him. Anyone who's going to get Nash will have to trade either their best player or best can't miss prospect for him, along with another great player, and a pick. Columbus is about to go bankrupt, they need at least one player in return that can put people in the seats. A Blue Jackets-Flyers deal would probably include Giroux. If Holland called Columbus (which I don't think he will) I don't think it's out of the question for the Blue Jackets to ask for Datsyuk in return to start the conversation, that's the type of deal it'll be.

and 20 seconds with 6 skaters on the ice.

FYI, teams don't want Hudler in a trade, he's in a contact year.
-
I agree, just keep winning then.
-
I think he was being sarcastic.

Mickey and Ken made some good points tonight about the extra wins with OT and shootout. They said the 1975-76 Flyers were able to take advantage of weak teams like the Kansas City Scouts and Washington Capitals. In 2011-12 there's more parity. Still I think with the extra chances to lose with the OT and shootout, it's more impressive because we've gone 21 games without a loss, when there's a guaranteed winner every game.

I agree 100%. The Leafs lost 5-1! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdCUpiI1MSA

I turned over to the Leafs-Flames game on Sportsnet. Joe Bowen did a quick scoreboard update, the Wings score was last. Also it took Joe a couple seconds to say the Wings set the record. Then he mentioned about the extra opportunities we have to win with OT and the Shootout. Screw 'em! You can't discredit a record because of a rule change. I think it's more impressive because they have extra chances to lose, so it evens out because they've gone 21 games without a loss. If the Leafs set the record, Joe Bowen would have a heart attack and would have to change his pants after the game because he got so excited! Plus Leaf fans would start celebrating downtown. I'm glad the Leafs are losing 3-1, and are about to lose their 4th in a row, heh heh heh.

Yea what a joke! Obviously they didn't care.

Yup, no doubt. It's TSN, CBC, and NBC's loss. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/hockey/nhl/story/2012-02-14/red-wings-set-record/53098584/1 From the USA Today article, I forgot about this: We own them both, Home and Road record.

As annoyed as I was with TSN, CBC, NBC, etc. not sending a crew down there to cover the historic night, I enjoyed watching Mickey and Ken. I guess only a Crosby comeback attempt :puke: is worth changing their TV schedule.
-
Great job Wings! I'm proud of ya!
-
Don't ruin our fun! When was the last time we were this excited about a game in February?
-
Excellent, thanks!

I remember a few months ago someone said they stream all the Red Wings games? Is that site still around? TSN didn't listen to my request to put this game on, so I'll watch it on that Red Wings game site (if someone can post the link), sportlemon.tv, or ilemi.me

Is Nicklas Lidstrom The Greatest Detroit Red Wing Of All Time?
Barrie replied to up2here's topic in General
Well said, I agree with all 3 statements. -
sympatico.ca has a poll on their website that asks if I'll be doing something special for Valentines Day. The possible answers are "Yes, absolutely!", "Yes, but only something small", "I'm not sure yet", and "No, it's not my thing". I voted "Yes, absolutely!" because I'll be watching the Red Wings go for their 21st Straight Home Win tonight online.

I think it's a safe bet to say, to win the Cup you need to finish in the top 4 in the Conference. If I remember correctly, the last team to win the Cup in the 5-8 seed was the 1995 NJ Devils (sorry to bring back bad memories). If the playoffs started today, the only teams I think could win are the Wings, Canucks, Rangers, Bruins, and Penguins. Yes I know I left off the Sharks, if they haven't won yet, why would I think they have a shot now? Also, nothing against St. Louis, but it's still to soon for them be picked.
-
I'm hearing talk about it on TSN Radio. I'd be surprised if Burke could get Nash, other teams have more talent they can trade. Plus the Leafs are up against the cap. I would think Columbus would want young players back who don't have big salaries. Yea with the Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Franzen contacts on the books, we won't be trading for another high priced forward.
-
It'll be interesting to see how SJ does without Setoguchi. He was clutch for them in the last two playoffs and always made up for Thornton and Marleau sucking

I agree, and I was talking about that last night. In 2011-12 there's more opportunities to win with OT and the shootout. Still fun though. Also I was thinking, if TSN thinks their such a big hockey network, they should send their own crew down there to do the game. It's a historic night! Edit: Everyone went crazy when Crosby came back, NBC and CBC brought crews to cover his 1st comeback. I'm sure they'll be back for his 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.. NBC, TSN, whoever, should get to Detroit. This a record that was first set 82 years ago, and tied (the first time) 36 years ago.
