Just give Drapes his due first, then say you're happy with the move.

Not only did he trigger the Wings-Avs rivalry, one of his biggest goal as a Wing came in 2008 WCF when the puck hit him in his teeth. I'll miss Drapes. I always enjoyed watching him and Maltby lead the warmups. End of an era, again. I'm using that term a lot lately.

Maybe I'm a little clueless, but I'm surprised the amount of people who were hurt/bugged when Shanny signed with the Rangers. I thought it was the right time for him to leave.

Good move. As big of a fan I am of Draper, there's no one on the roster I'd like to see let go so Draper can have one more year. I appreciate Maltby, Draper, and Osgood knowing when it's time to retire. I'm sure the Wings will offer Draper a job within the organization.

I'll say I'm addicted to sports. I like Hockey, but I like Baseball and Football too. It just so happens out of all my teams, the Red Wings by far have had the most success, so I've paid the most attention to them. I only follow Basketball when the Pistons are in the playoffs, or the Spartans make the Final 4.

I think Ozzie have a better case than Shanny and Fedorov. I think Ozzie's #30 should be up there, but won't lose any sleep if it's not. Notice I didn't mention McCarty. Draper and Maltby overall were better Red Wings than DMac Edit: (before anyone accuses me that I just said Drapes #33 and Malts #18 should be up there, you're wrong ).

I'd like to know if some of these writers who don't think Ozzie is a Hall of Fame goalie, thinks if CuJo should be in there or not. My money says they probably say CuJo is a Hall of Fame goalie and they'll debate Ozzie, just because CuJo played in Toronto, despite not getting past the Conference Finals in two tries. To me, Ozzie should be in there no question. CuJo should be the one there's a public debate about.

I'd like to see the new logos on the jersey before I decide if I like it or not. As of now I think it's ok. I do like it better than the old one, I've never been a fan of the old Jets logo.

One thing I don't think people realize with Hudler, he's in a contract year, so you know he's going to put up good numbers.

I just heard on a AM 1050 TSN radio update during the Dan Patrick show that the Islanders are talking about bringing Yashin back. Wow!

If Rome didn't hit Horton, Vancouver would have won the Cup in 5. Vancouver was getting away with to much in the first two games, and the hit on Horton crossed the line, giving Boston enough motivation to win.

Agree 100%! As big a Draper fan I've been over the years, Hudler's only 27 and can easily bounce back and score 20-25 goals next year. I'm actually shocked the poll, when I voted, was 50/50. As mentioned I voted Hudler, without having to think about it, but I was upset when we cut McCarty loose after the lock out.

The Thornton to Yzerman comparisons Sharks fans make is a complete insult to "The Captain". Also I think the early 90's Red Wings comparison that Sharks fans make is an excuse to make themselves feel better. If the Sharks were the Red Wings, they would have won 2 cups by now. When in Rome...

No joke, I'll give Holland an A. With the type of money being thrown around and length of contracts, who seriously would have been a good fit in Detroit? I thought the Ericsson signing was realistic, and I like adding White and Commodore. Conks is a good signing too, and he brought back Eaves and Miller at lower that what I excepted. The team is set and we still have almost $7 Million in cap room to make a major deal at the deadline. Also as I've been saying for a few weeks, we already have $29 Million cap room available for next season. Kenny's a man with a plan.

(I clicked on the link and I'm not an insider) Wow, so ESPN charges for that kind of inside info? As mentioned, we've been hearing this since the 1999-2000 season when we lost to the Avs in the playoffs the second year in a row. 2 more Stanley Cups later... Also this article talked about the Red Wings trading away their 1st round draft picks. The reason we've been trading our late 1st round picks is to get two 2nd round picks, giving us a better chance at landing future NHL players. The Wings in recent seasons have been getting high marks for their drafts. True Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franzen, Cleary, etc. aren't getting any younger, but if this so called "insider" saw that every year there's young players making the team, and sees how Holland has the cap under control ($29 available next year), he'd say we're fine, or just wait and see what the best GM in hockey does.

I think #30 should be in the rafters too. I don't know what else he needs to do.
