ok, I'm not sure if you agree with me or not, but I do like being called a kid and special Seriously if not, who would you have as ahead of Ozzie as a big game goalie in the last 25 years? Belfour or Hasek weren't as good as Ozzie in big games. Ozzie was cool, calm, collected, and clutch. His playoff numbers are excellent!
-
Amazing that there's even a debate if Ozzie is HOF worthy, considering the Hockey HOF is the easiest one to get into (not that Ozzie and his 400 wins, 3 cup rings, and playoff numbers need any help).
-
It's to bad those morons can't realize the 3rd best big game goalie of the last 25 years is calling it a career. 1) Roy 2) Brodeur 3) Osgood
-
Thanks Ozzie! Excellent career, I'm proud to call you one of my all-time favorite Red Wings. You're right up there with Yzerman, McCarty, and Holmstrom. We've seen some great players retire over the last few years, but I think this is the biggest one since Yzerman. It's an end of an era for us Red Wings fans.
-
As a big Ozzie fan, I wish him all the best for a healthy final season. However, I'm happy we signed Joey Mac to back up Ozzie as the back up.
-
I find sometimes during the playoffs it's tough to be a Wings fan just because expectations are so high, and when we don't win there's so much criticism from the media, fans of other teams, and even Wings fans. However once the playoffs are over, and when I go through all my Championship gear, collectibles, and games from 1997, 1998, 2002, and 2008, I'm reminded how luck I am to see 6 Western Conference Championships, and 4 Stanley Cup Championships.

I think the D is set. With $7 million in cap space, and $28 available for next year, I'm expecting a big deal at the deadline.
-
Agree. By December he'll probably be back on the IR with groin problems. Plus I think it's a great time for Ozzie to retire. He has 3 cup rings, got his 400th win, and rebounded somewhat in 2010-11 from two shaky seasons by posting 5-3-2, 2.77, and .903 in 11 games.
-
As big of an Ozzie fan I've been over the years, I think he's done. That groin injury will never go away. I voted WILDCARD B*TCHES! - Someone out of left field.
-
The cap and floor only separated by $4-$6 Million? May as well just put all the team names in a hat, shake them up, and pick one every year to decided your champion. It'll save us a bunch of time and aggravation. It's the floor that's the problem and Bettman's southern teams, do something about that! Give power back to the big markets and stop letting the south drag you down!
-
Yea hopefully we can hold on to the lead this year. We should, we're the best team in the division.

I got the sarcasm . My reply was to the article, not you. I think Commodore wearing #64 would be a lot of fun! Oh it would be great! The goal horn would sound, the "I adore my 64, my Commodore 64" would play, then either "Hey Hey Hockeytown" or "Ya'll Ready for this".
-
Just play a 5 second sound clip of it like when Cleary scores a goal, "I can see clearly now". Or when Drake did something in 07-08, and they had Jerry and Elaine saying, "I love the Drake". "Yea the Drake is good". Edit: "Are you keeping up with the Commodore, cause the Commodore is keeping up with you" or "I adore my 64, my Commodore 64"
-
Wow, some people are taking this way too serious, and taking ourselves way to serious! If he wants to wear 64, great, if not, that's cool. If he doesn't, then we can play song from the first video I posted.
-
Congratulation to Derek Jeter. I'm a Tigers fan, but I've been a big Jeter fan for years. One of the local sports channels picked up the game so I was able to watch it. Unbelievable that not only Jeter's 3,000 hit was a HR, but he went 5-5, and got the game winning RBI!
-
Dats That is all
-
After a big hit, or a goal, I bet the DJ at the Joe will play one of these jingles from old Commodore commercials. Edit: I actually remember the "I Adore my 64" commercials
-
I liked the Commodore signing from the beginning, but him wearing 64 will make it great! Also, I can see Commodore 64 being a crowd favorite after only a couple big hits.
-
Cops have better things to do, like keeping the streets safe, than show up for a court date for a guy who threw something on the ice at a hockey game. I don't think this will be an issue next year.

FYl, just wanted to post this link. Other than getting a back up goalie, it looks like Holland is done for now. http://detnews.com/article/20110704/SPORTS0103/107040346/1128/rss16 Looking at the depth chart in the article, I'm good with the team going into the 2011-12 season. I know we've had two straight 2nd round exits, but I think fatigue from the 2007-2009 playoff runs had something to do with it. I think some extra rest will help out next year. Also, depending on revenues from this year, next year we already have $29 million cap space available.
-
Wow, I wasn't paying attention, I didn't realize until now Florida gave Jovo a 4 year deal! That's insane! Anyway, I'm glad Jovo didn't sign here. I'm happy with White and Commodore.
-
Yea, but you don't want him signed for 9 years. I think we're going to miss another season of hockey at the next round of negotiations, this CBA is a mess.
-
More like, the Wings aren't dumb, the market value is over inflated.
-
Read this, check out all the cap room we have next year. http://www.capgeek.com/charts.php?Team=15 I'm glad Holland didn't over pay at this year's poor UFA pool.

Realistically what were you expecting?
