Me too. I'd actually be willing to miss another entire season to get a Luxury Tax. Personally I don't have a problem with this. The players humiliated themselves by playing to poorly.
-
Not interested in Jovo, or anyone else over 30. Edit: After a quick look at the list, get James Wisniewski, he's a Michigan guy.
-
I think Franzen belongs on the list. I have a Hockey news from 2004 that says Franzen, and I quote, "is a responsible defensive player with limited upside". Since DMac is one of my All-Time favorite Wings, I like him at #10. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the "Grind Line" was originally Draper, Maltby, and Kocur.
-
Great list, the only thing I would question would be some of your most memorable moments.
-
That's SJ's excuse for keeping this core together, the early 90's Wings. If they want to go by that, it would have already been 1997 and 1998 by now. It's time for the Sharks to get rid of Thornton and Marleau.
-
Ah who cares, SJ is just going to blow again next year anyway. There's 3 guarantees in life: Death, Taxes, and SJ not making it to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Poor guy going from Philly to Columbus, haha. At least he can play on a same line with Nash.

I'm not so sure it would happen in Toronto. Toronto is the New York of Canada, so I think we have more respect for our city and are more business like, professional, and money/career driven than the people in Montreal and Vancouver. Montreal is a corrupt city run by the mob with a declining population, has a high school drop out rate of 50%, and huge problems with teenagers getting pregnant. Vancouver is full of hippies and drug addicts. I think the Police would do a better job in Toronto as well. Toronto would party no question, and there would be arrests, injuries, and some damage, but I'm sure by midnight-1 am most people would go home to bed so they could get up for work the next day . Also Toronto wouldn't close down the downtown, since it's the business center of the country, and invite people to watch the game on the streets. I heard on the radio today, when there was those riots in Toronto during the G20 meetings a while ago, most people that started the riots and got arrested came from Vancouver and Montreal. The Toronto media told the people who live in the area not to go downtown, and they listened. Plus the Toronto police were there in full force and stopped anything major from happening. Maybe I'm crazy for thinking this way, but I just don't see major riots happening in Toronto. Edit: I'll add, Ontario has the lowest crime rate in the country.

So would I!

I just answered my own question, I found a 5 minute clip, and yes fans were chanting "Bettman Sucks". As much as I don't like the guy, I give him full credit for facing a Canadian crowd.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzePDz4cTl4 I just noticed he didn't give the fans a chance to give the Canucks congrats. Gary probably just wanted to get off the ice as fast as he could. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-d91nsEms5U Despite the booing, the best part is 0:53 when Thomas asks where he should leave the trophy. Edit: Also, where I watched the game it was really loud, were fans chanting "Bettman sucks" between the Conn Smythe and Stanley Cup presentations?

I have no interest at all in Jagr.

I've been hearing reports on the radio that the city of Vancouver and the police were unprepared, and completely underestimated the situation. Despite some early rioting before the Olympics, the city was safe, so they based their decisions on the Olympics, not on what happened in 1994. Apparently they didn't call for more police from the surrounding cities until after the riots started. They didn't even have them ready before. Also they continued to invite people downtown to watch the games without the proper police presence.

I think we need to remember this was the first time Bettman presented the Cup in a Canadian city in 18 years. Despite being Canadian, but cheering for an American team, I understand how much Canadian hockey fans hate Bettman. Bettman treats Canadian fans, a country that makes 40% of the income for the NHL, like morons. for the Canucks fans for the booing. I was laughing when I was watching it, it was great.

I heard on the radio people are calling Vancouver, "Vandlecouver". I was thinking, Montreal's had 3 riots since 2008, I'm going to call them, "Mobtreal".

Say what you want about Luongo, but the guy's getting no help from the offense. Anyway, I'm picking Bruins on Wednesday.
-
By far my favorite of our 4 cups. I have so many great memories of where I was, and how I was jumping around celebrating, when all the big moments from that run happened.
-
I was thinking the same thing.

I'd take Wojtek. It sounds like a realistic thing that can happen too! I meet his Dad a couple months ago. Apparently he liked the night life in New York a little to much.

Excellent Stanley Cup final. Great comeback game by the Canucks. I'm expecting Boston to force a Game 7. As mentioned earlier, I originally said Canucks in 7, but then said whoever wins Game 4 will win the series. I've covered my butt either way, haha. I guess I should stick with whoever wins Game 4 since it's the most recent. I can see this series going either way because with one game left in each city, I think Boston has a better chance to win on the road than Vancouver. Looking forward to Game 6, despite Monday being one of the nights I play Baseball in the spring/summer.

What do you mean keep your head up? Hudler's head was up, he was preparing to join the rush and score a goal. We don't need hits like this. How can you see a guy bleeding all over the ice from a blind sided hit like that and say, "Keep your head up?" What do you people want? If players were constantly looking around for guys head hunting we'd never see any goals. May as well just leave the puck at center ice and let the guys skate around turning their head in every direction so they don't bump into each other. Anyways, originally I came here to say, if the Canucks lose this series, me thinks Rome better get out of Vancouver asap.

I'd be all for bringing Carter here, however we already have Zetterberg, Datsyuk, and Franzen signed to lifetime contracts. I don't see adding another lifetime contract up front with Rafalski retired and Lidstrom a year or two away as well.
-
Why would the Flyers trade Carter? It's a pipe dream.
-
Originally I said 'nucks in 7, but after Game 3 I said whoever wins Game 4 will win the series. Which one do I go with? Vancouver is folding here, Boston pushed them around pretty good, and other than their dirty play, the 'nucks can't counter the size of the Bruins. Vancouver needed a quick kill, and win in 5, especially after the hit on Horton. The longer this goes, the better off it is for the Bruins.

How many games did Downey play in the 2008 playoffs? Same answer as yours.
