    Holland or Yzerman?

    Now: Holland Future: Yzerman

Which conference would you rather have the Wings in?

I'm good either was since I live between Toronto and Detroit. I do however like the West and the rivalries we've built.

Pre-Modern Era Wings With Cup Photos

The last one has to be 1952. Abel's last cup with the Wings was 1952, and Sawchuk wasn't the starter in 1950, Lumley was.
  4. I watched Game 1. I know it's only 1 game and Vancouver should win at home, but I was expecting a lot more from San Jose. Hearing the fans in San Jose chant, "Beat Detroit" I'm wondering if beating the Wings is their Stanley Cup?

Are we Cheering for Tampa Bay now?

+1 I'll follow along, but when my team is eliminated in one sport, it's on to the next sport. Tigers have been playing great lately! Verlander followed his no hitter with a 2 hitter, and the bats are going.

    Congratulations to the Sharks

Dude, Red Wings message board, what do you expect? See this is why I wasn't to happy our board and the Sharks board tired to be friends before the start of the series and encouraged each other to post on each other's boards. Sure there's classy people who came over for the series, but it opens it up for stuff like this. Not my decisions, so whatever. I hate to say it, but I think this is San Jose's year. We had problems at times generating offense against them because of their size. With the way the Sedin's are playing, I don't think Vancouver has a chance.

    Hudler's Future

Hudler is signed for next year, with his trade value low, he's going no where. Also, he's in a contract year, so I'm expecting he'll return to 2008 form. Let's take advantage of that!

    Congratulations to the Sharks

    Maybe he's predicting a comeback?

Are we Cheering for Tampa Bay now?

Out of the 4 teams left, I'd like to see Boston win, they haven't won since 1972! In my family we're either Red Wings fans (my Mom's side of the family is from Windsor), or Canucks fans (my Dad's side is from Vancouver), so for Uncles, Aunts, cousins, and even my Grandma, if the Canucks win, I'll be happy for them. That puts TB 3rd on my list, because San Jose can suck it! Seriously though, out of the 4 teams left, I think San Jose has the best shot at winning the Cup.

    Congratulations to the Sharks

I heard a good joke today: The Sharks decided to celebrate their series victory at Joe Thornton's house because his pool has the best diving board and he serves the cheapest shots. Edit: Despite sharing that joke, just for the record, I'm ok with the loss, unlike last year and in 2009. I'm not bitter, and I don't think we were screwed. I think we were beat fair and square. Full credit to San Jose for bouncing back, and full credit to the refs for not being confused between a dive and a real penalty.

    Our last playoff berth?

I highly doubt we're going to the East. We're the biggest draw on the road in the League. Bettman needs us in the West to fill the building in his bad markets. I'd bet money Columbus is going East before us.

    Bertuzzi and Cleary

I'm not surprised they both had a concussion. I figured they did. We wouldn't have had much left for Vancouver. Maybe it's better the guys get the extra rest and be eliminated this way, instead of losing in 5 to the healthier Canucks.

WCSF Game 7 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Sharks 3

You people with your Datsyuk vs. Zetterberg stuff . I consider myself more of a Zetterberg fan over Datsyuk, but a few years ago told myself not to pick sides, I don't want this to turn into another Yzerman vs. Fedorov thing like we had in the 1990's. They're both on our team, and both are awesome!

WCSF Game 7 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Sharks 3

Great try Wings! So close, so close! Despite the disappointment of losing, I'm feeling good about Howard. The position is set for 10 years. Also, I don't have a bitter feeling after this year's elimination. In 2009 there was the non-suspension to Malkin and the non to many men on the ice call. 2010 had the Sharks diving, and getting Power Plays because of it. This year seems like we were fairly beat. Full credit to San Jose for bouncing back and winning Game 7, now Let's Go Canucks! I still think we'll win one more cup with Datsyuk and Zetterberg as the top guys on the team. Though to win this year when the injuries kept mounting. With Bertuzzi and Cleary going down tonight, how much would we have had left against Vancouver? Enjoy the extra rest boys and get 'em next year! Marleau pulled a Crosby tonight. Marleau did nothing all series but gets the game winner, like Cindy in the Olympics.

    Vancouver's Green Guys

I like that reply by Fischer. I also like the green guys in Vancouver. Sports is fun, and that's fun. More teams should have fans like that. I think if I was a player, I'd have something planned for them if I got a penalty.

WCSF Game 7 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Sharks 3

I'm waiting for Niemi to crack. He was the only Shark who showed up in Game 6, and seeing some of the Sharks "deer in the headlights" looks after the Wings won again, I'm expecting the same. 5-1 Wings. I have a baseball practice tonight before the game, it'll help kill time before the puck drops.

    Thornton slash on Z

Thornton's been an embarrassment the last two games. In two games where his team can eliminate the Wings and move to the Western Conference Finals, he's diving, hitting Datsyuk after the end of a period, and going after Zetterberg. San Jose has hit the panic button. Niemi will be the only Shark composed enough to play Game 7, just because he's been there before. To bad for him, but great for us, his team will let him down. Edit: I'm expecting more thuggery from San Jose tomorrow night. I just hope everyone on the Wings stays safe.

    Datsyuk or Thornton

I have no idea what the poll is for, and it doesn't matter. Datsyuk!

Vancouver Media already playing "wings too old" card

The Vancouver media should be more worried about the lack of scoring from the Sedin's, the "Sedin Sisters" as they're called on the FAN590 in Toronto. Luongo needs to be a lot better too. I think both the Wings and Sharks can beat the Canucks. The Canucks played 13 of a possible 14 games against the 8th and 5th seeds to get to the Conference Finals. Next round they're playing a real team.

WCSF Game 6 GDT: Sharks 1 at Red Wings 3

However, it'll be easy to suck the life out of that building. They'll be more nervous than anything, same with the Sharks. Imagine San Jose having to add, blowing a 0-3 series lead to that playoff resume?! Ouch!

Thornton is 10X worse than Cindy. Cindy's just annoying.
