That was my thought going into the series too.

Tough to win when you have to kill 5 penalties in a row. SJ got that game handed to them on a silver platter. They better thank the NHL officials for that win. The only way we'll see fair and consistent officiating is if they use robots. If they're letting stuff go early, it should be the same through out the game. Overall I thought we played a great road game. All we have to do is win Game 2, which I think we can, and we're fine.

We should change our strategy and go into the 3rd behind.

Typical Red Wings game, two penalties called against them, none on the opposition. Typical NHL reffing too, so much stuff gets let go early, then they start calling stuff late in the game to keep things close.

5-2 Wings. Also I predict Wings and Sharks fans being friendly to each other on our message boards will quickly come to an end 10 minutes into the game, when Setoguchi takes a dive to try and draw a penalty, and Thornton takes a run at Zetterberg. I give you all credit for trying, but this is to emotional a series to try and be nice to each other.

To be 100% honest, I don't like this idea of combining forums. I know it's only a game, but if I wanted to talk to Sharks fans I would have done my own Google search to find a Sharks forum. After last year, and all the diving by the Sharks, leading to questionable penalties called against the Wings, this maybe a very emotional series. I want revenge and I want the Wings to win big! I come here to talk to Wings fans, vent, and be a homer without having to hear from other team's fans. I stay away from other team's forums because I think they have every right to talk to their own fans, vent, and be a homer as well without hearing from me. Just my thoughts...

Wings in 6. I'm thinking the Sharks will regret diving, flipping, and flopping to draw penalties last year. I wouldn't be surprised if we win a couple games 6-1 to show them up. If the Wings are as pissed as I still am from last year, this should be a fun series. I don't think you're to far off. We all know how the Sharks won last year.

The next rounds looks good! It helps that there wasn't any major upsets, which will help with the style of play, i.e. no trap!

9 years later, I still don't understand what Burke was trying to prove when he went on his rant about the Wings-Canucks series. Talk about poking the bear or waking a sleeping giant. Burke's a fool! I think Gillis is trying to take the heat off Luongo.

The Bruins-Canadiens should have played Game 6 yesterday, now they're left with back-to-back games. Anyway, I'm picking the Bruins to win tomorrow.

Right, as much as I'd like to beat the Sharks next round, playing them would probably mean playing the Canucks in the Conference Finals. That's tough! If we can beat the Canucks too, we probably wouldn't have anything left for the finals. I'll take the possibility of an easier road to the finals by playing the Preds next round, and a worn out Sharks or Blackhawks in the Conference Finals.

I think I'd rather face the Preds next round. We can beat them in 5, maybe 6, while Chicago can take out the Sharks in 7. After two straight 7 game series, the Blackhawks will be easy pickings (5 games). Edit: I have this feeling, if Chicago wins tonight, we'll be Western Conference Champions again without much effort. If Vancouver wins, we can still win the West, but it'll be a lot tougher to do so.

Gotta love it, I was the 81st vote in this poll, and the 72nd person to vote for Lidstrom. Lidstrom is running away with it, on a Red Wings message board. Seriously though, out of those 3, Nick should take it.

Not really a risky prediction, but I would think whoever wins tonight wins the series. If Philly takes Game 6, they should win Game 7.

As mentioned, he's been doing the Washington-NY series for TSN. I notice he's between the benches for Anaheim-Nashville tonight. I hope he stays away from the Wings games and NBC. I'll add: Anyone else>>>>Pierre

I'm completely torn for this series, I consider Philly and Buffalo as a tie for my Eastern Conference teams.

In Brian Burke's, talk first think later, way of doing things, rumors are the Leafs are interested.

I think that has more to do with Phoenix being more worried about hitting us hard, than trying to outscore us or trying to stop us from scoring.

The PK will be better with Zetterberg back. I want to play SJ next round, it's time to get revenge for their guttless diving act they showed last year! Plus it's always fun to see Thornton cave under pressure.

Top five best playoff beards I've always thought Draper had the best playoff beard. He didn't make this list, but Zetterberg did.
