Howard's had no chance on both goals...
-
to Babs, for saying he couldn't disagree more when Pierre tried to talk about a slow start by the Wings.
-
Great goal by Bert! I wish there was an option where I couldn't hear Pierre, I have no interest in listening to a word that guy has to say. What was with him talking about the Wings age again to Draper? Props to Drapes for not going off. I wouldn't have kept my composure after that question AGAIN. Edit: Pierre sucks!

The league is better without these type of players running around. I thought, and still do think, when Lemieux hit Draper he should have been thrown out of the League. I've been complaining for years how mediocrity rules the NHL with how easily their best teams can be eliminated in the playoffs in the 1st and 2nd rounds. Making for horrible match ups later on, and encouraging teams to play the trap. If mediocre players are going to continue to be allowed to injure the game's top stars, then there's no question in my mind mediocrity rules the NHL. No wonder why ESPN isn't interested.

There's really something wrong with the NHL if they don't do anything to Cooke, especially with Crosby out. Who's next as targets for the goons and cheap shot artists? Datsyuk and Zetterberg? The higher ups in the NHL are a joke!
-
Agree, I wouldn't be against throwing him out of the league. I really think the NHL needs to do some thing here and get tough with suspensions. Crosby is out, and Ovechkin was almost injured. Soon all they'll be left with is Cooke type mediocre players.

I wouldn't trade Hudler, he's been playing well.

Love it, great finish!

LOL, Avery. You want to fake being hurt, we'll make it hurt!

Rangers killing to much time on this PP, a hand pass and now an offside.

Geeze Wings, let's get going here! Come on, it's comeback time!

2/2 GDT: Franzen 5 + Red Wings 2 (7) at Senators (5)
Barrie replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Great game Franz! Hopefully that moron who wrote that article saying we need to get a goon, and that Franzen is soft, is eating some crow. Why was Neil on the ice with less than a minute? I think Coaches should be fined for sending out their no talent idiots in close games. It's a safety issue for opposing players, also it makes teams that are about to lose look like sore losers. There's no need for goons to be on the ice at that moment in a game. -
Typical Canadian response. Face facts CBC and fans of Canadian teams, playing for a Canadian team isn't as great as you think it is. I think the best markets to play in are the northern American teams. Not a good weekend for the Maple Leafs, and a huge reality check for their fans. Kessel was picked last in the draft, sucked in the skills competition, was the only player on team Lidstrom who didn't get a point, and this player poll says they're top 5 in teams players don't want to play for and their coach is the least liked. Had to laugh both Crosby and Iginla made the Best Role Model list, those guys are two of the biggest whiners in the game.

Right, I've read McCarty should have been thrown out of the game for going after Lemieux. One of the linesmen was telling the ref, when he was handing out the penalties, that McCarty should have gotten a game for triggering the brawl Then DMac goes and scores the game winner, and the rest they say is history! Yes, that was brutal! Lucky for Claude, DMac didn't land it right. Yea I think they need a part 2 for the Wings. Along with 2008, the OT winners against Chicago from the 09 WCF could be on there. Maybe they're waiting for a 2011 Wings Championship before the next set comes out.

Bettman loves losing money!

This part of the article made me laugh. Combined, those players have 8 Cup rings and 2 Conn Smythe trophies. Enforcers are useless in the playoffs, they're always the first players who are healthy scratches. For example Aaron Downey didn't play a shift in our cup winning 2008 playoffs. Also note, in 243 regular season games, Aaron's only played 5 playoffs games, and he's been on good teams too! I'll add, Tie Domi by himself killed any chance the Maple Leafs had for a deep Cup run in 2001 when he elbowed Neidermayer in a game the Leafs were beating the Devils and looked like they had control of the series. I understand everything doesn't have to be positive in the media, but I find it difficult to criticize a team that made 2 straight trips to the Cup Finals, a trip to the Conference Finals the season before, and pretty much ran out of gas from 3 straight 95+ game seasons last year. Also they played a team last year that was playing gutless hockey diving all over the place to cheat their way past them (and no calls from the refs I might add). Edit: If people want to see players punching each other, watch UFC.

Living close to Toronto whenever people say enforcer all I think of is Domi or Colton Orr, guys who play 5 minutes and have no offensive skill at all. No thanks. Give me a McCarty or Lapointe type any day, they play 15-18 minutes a game and can score 15 goals a year.

ummm I think eva unit zero is a dude.

Nice! How many pullups do you do in a set? I try for 12 consistently, but by the second time around when Close Grip overhand pull ups come up, I crap out at 8. That workout is a killer! I did the Shoulders and Arms this morning, love it! My favorite is the Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps. In a week, I switch to that one along with Back and Biceps
-
I agree with L3T5G0W1NG5 comments, however, I've kind of modified P90X, doing away with Yoga, and doing more of the exercises involving the weights. If you follow the Tony Horton plan, you would only do workouts like Shoulders and Arms and Chest and Back once every 7 days. I do those workouts once every 4.5 days. I do his Plyometrics and Kenpo workouts because I play Baseball and Flag Football so I want to, as L3T5G0W1NG5 said, be a good all around athlete. I'm not in it for body building.

Enforcers are usually meat heads and take stupid penalties. The best guys to have who can drop the gloves are McCarty and Lapointe type players, they only fight when they have to, actually play 15-18 minutes a game, and can contribute to the main objective in hockey, outscoring your opponent.
-
Why sign him, when you can just wait until someone else does and pick him up on waivers?
-
Whatever gets him off TV!

Nice job Marty!

Anyone here do P90X? I've been on the program for two years, it's great! A few weeks ago I started adding more protein to my diet, and I'm up to 180lbs. I started going to those stand up tanning booths at the local gym, just 5 or 10 minutes at time, once a week. I'm missing the summer
