Who is the most hated man on LGW?

I can honestly say there isn't a LGW member that I don't like.

Who is the most hated man on LGW?

    Still gotta vote for Claude.
  3. Well nothing to lose, so I Kenny for trying. My question is why Islanders why? Wouldn't adding Nabokov win you a few games you should lose, hurting your draft pick? Oh well, at least he isn't going to the West.

Datsyuk, Cleary, and Homer likely back Feb 2nd

Great news. I think the DJ at The Joe should play this song Feb 4th, their first game back at home.
  5. Yea you would have to think that this is a little different when a guy gets sent down to the minors but has to clear waivers first, Nabokov is a free agent here.
  6. I agree LeftWinger, players should go on waivers immediately! There's enough ways to find out when a guy is on waivers, instead of having extra time. It's a big disadvantage to the team doing the signing. Give the disadvantage to the 29 other teams.
  7. How does that saying go, "In for a penny, in for a pound"? Edit: I'm starting to think with everything put in his contract, and Nabokov probably refusing to report to any team but the Wings, he'll clear. Should be interesting. Something else to follow this weekend with the NFL Playoffs and Wings-B.Hawks
  8. Right. I'm actually shocked that anyone here thinks the Wings have given up on Howard. He's only 26 and, despite a couple shaky months, is one of the best young goalies in the game. Ozzie's retiring after this year, Nabokov, at 35, is Osgood's replacement, Howard's going no where! So what will NJ get in return?
  9. With the no movement clause, I too am thinking Ozzie's season, and career, is over. If that's the case, thanks Ozzie ! Next stop the Hall of Fame.
  10. Sounds to me if a team claims him, the Wings screwed them!
  11. Yea you'd have to think Nabokov has some kind of say in all this, he did sign as a Free Agent.

    Aaaahhhh makes sense.

All I read was they parted ways, which I wondered was a nice way to say the team told him "bye bye". Maybe after living in the USA for a while, after spending a few months in Russia again he was, "What was I thinking coming back here?"

    Wings Negotiating w/ Nabokov

So I guess guys can still pull a Sundin or Neidermayer, which I think is worse than this Nabokov situation. Also didn't his Russian team just flat out get rid of him? Sounds to me they should be able to avoid the rule. But that little runt Bettman likes to act like a big shot.

Which NHL player have you met

Who was it on here that said they won a contest one time for him and a few friends to watch a game from the owners box? He said Holland came in and started talking to them. When Stevie came in he actually introduced themselves to them saying, "Hi guys, I'm Steve".

Which probably could have been Kenny's plan all along.

    Wings Negotiating w/ Nabokov

Did Sundin and Neidermayer have to clear waivers before they signed mid-year, or is this something new to prevent guys signing mid-season, or it is just because Nabokov was playing in Russia?

Which NHL player have you met

Oh that's it huh? Are you sure?

    Wings Negotiating w/ Nabokov

Not stating the obvious, just thinking out loud... Funny how this works, Nabokov is a free agent, but has to clear waivers to get signed. Being a free agent means you can sign where you want, but in this situation he could get claimed by a team he doesn't want to play for. Interesting...
  20. They were talking about Giggy's trade value today on the FAN590 in Toronto. Greg Brady, former radio guy in Detroit, said Giggy wouldn't get anything better than a 4th round pick. I agree!

    Wings Negotiating w/ Nabokov

Hey here's a thought, Holland had to know Nabokov would get claimed. Maybe he knows something about Nabokov, like he's done, and wants to screw over another team? Heh heh heh.

    Wings Negotiating w/ Nabokov

So what happens if Nabokov doesn't want to go to the team that claims him? Haha yea, the Wings are the ones making the news and they're quoting other sources!

    Wings Negotiating w/ Nabokov

but do Chicago, San Jose, and other teams have the cap room for him? How long is he on waivers for? Will teams up against the cap have enough time to make him fit under the cap? Holland has had a lot of time to figure this out, other teams may just run out of time.

    Wings Negotiating w/ Nabokov

That's what I'm thinking too. Ozzie's probably done, that's probably the #1 reason why we're getting Nabokov. No way he'll be the starter, the KHL is a step down, it takes times for players to get back into the NHL ways, Hudler is a perfect example. It's a low risk move, but could turn out to be a great one! Edit: Also it says Nabokov hasn't played anywhere since December 13th. He'll be the back up. Report: Nabokov bound for Detroit?

I agree, Holland I'm sure has somethin' cookin'
