Spoke to soon?

Dare I say that Hudler's played a good game? Looks like he's had some good jump tonight.

Andrew Krystal on the FAN590 today was commenting on the Edmonton Cheerleaders. I'm not the this type of guy, but I found what he said funny! He mentioned the Edmonton cheerleaders were a little over weight and said, "Tell these women they have 1% milk now", and added, "These are the kind of girls if you're dating them and someone sees you with them in your car, you make up an excuse saying, 'No she's not my girl friend, she's dating my buddy and needed a ride to the airport'".

No one is more annoying than Pierre McGuire.

Blues are losing their cool here. Make 'em pay!

Cleary! Rebounds, my favorite kind of goals! Love it!

Shake it off Homer!

Wings PP again!

I think TSN is the worst for color guys, I find even their football coverage is bad too. I'm convinced they have scripts written out and they HAVE to say everything in the broadcast. Mick seems to react based on the game, which I like. BTW, Kronwall scores!

Wings PP coming up...

Just gotta comment on how much I enjoy Mickey as a color guy. He doesn't say much, he only really makes comments about the game, and likes to kid around. It's the type of person I like going to games with. I find to many color guys, especially on the Canadians networks, feel like they have to talk all the time and sound smart. It's annoying!

Ok, say no more!

I hear ya man, salary caps suck! I like the luxury tax. I've never seen how spreading out the talent is better for leagues. All it does it create way to many mediocre teams. Things work in cycles, good teams eventually get bad, and bad teams (unless it's the Leafs) have ways to improve themselves and if they do things right can contend. But that's another topic for another discussion...
-
Yea I think on paper it's a toss up between us and the 'nucks. I'll give us the nod because, I'm a Wings fan and our playoff experience. And with the salary cap, the talent is spread out, meaning there's a lot of teams with similar talent, so to win, teams need to be on top of their game.

Hey, can't blame a guy for having an opinion.

I think on paper Philly is the best team in the East, and Detroit is best the West, so I guess I just answered the original question. I don't think Pittsburgh has the same depth as Philly. Look at the stats, Crosby is 25 pts (51 to 26) ahead of the next best Penguin, and he's the only with at least 10 goals. That's to much reliance on one player. Get someone like Z to shut down Crosby in the playoffs, and the Pens are going down. I like the Bruins depth too, watch out for them. I'm calling a Wings-Flyers final.

12/13 GDT: Kings, Lots (5) at Red Wings, None (0)

With 82 regular season games, this is bound to happen at least once. I like the 51 shots. -
Check out Ozzie's playoff numbers, they're excellent! http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/o/osgooch01.html That said though, I'm not saying Ozzie should have his number retired, I just find that his career has been better than 99% of us have thought. Edit: I put myself in that 99%.
-
Right, I don't want to take anything away from Sawchuk. I think the thing with Ozzie is that he's put up excellent career numbers without any attention. At first glance it's easy to say no he isn't deserving or doesn't compare to the all time greats, but looking at his numbers, it's almost surprising seeing what Ozzie has accomplished in his career. As I said, I didn't know until last year when he was inching closer to 400 career wins, how good his career numbers are. Despite a couple shaky years recently because of age, having to deal with a divorce, and a drinking problem, the guy is as steady as they come. He has been a winner his entire career, and, again without any fan fare, has been one of the best big game goalies of the last 15 years.

In Sawchuck's first time around as a Red Wing he was, but his numbers weren't anywhere close to where they were when he came back after a couple years in Boston. http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/s/sawchte01.html Edit: Take out Sawchuck's first 6 years, and he's a very different goalie. I do think Sawchuck's number should be retired no doubt. I, just like eva, have looked at Ozzie's stats as a Red Wing, and they were a lot better than I thought. He's the 2nd best goalie in Red Wings history, and holds most of the Red Wings goalie playoff records!

Great game by Ozzie! 399 down, 1 to go. I hope Ozzie gets #400 at the Joe! He ends the night with a .907 SV% on the year so far
