Yea Quebec no doubt will sell out every game, but I wonder if they have the corporate support to fill the suites? I'd rather go to Houston than Hartford.
-
Was it Rouse? Fetisov-Konstantinov was the top two, and Pushor-Ward/Eriksson was the bottom two, so that leaves Lidstrom-Rouse. However, Scotty was consistently changing lines.
-
Yea to each their own. 2009 was a feeling of missed opportunity for sure. Adding 1993 to 1994-1996, I just remember after losing in 1996 and Draper getting his face smashed in, wondering if we'd ever win the Cup. Plus all the talk about Yzerman not being a winner and a good leader wasn't fun to listen to. Once we got Shanahan though, I knew we'd win.
-
As a Wings fan, I wouldn't change a thing. Avs fans however, would probably have a different answer.
-
It's only one player, so I wouldn't worry about it. Plus reading Holland's comments from a few days ago, Maltby will really only be in Detroit if there's an injury.

I'm just wondering who here is old enough to be a Wings fan, or remember, before 1997? 2009 was bad, but as a fan since the late 1980's, it wasn't the worst for me. 1994, 1995, and 1996 was much worse. After winning the cup, playoff defeats, for me, were easier to take.

The best 7 game series I've ever seen. Two weeks of stress and my stomach turning, it was a great feeling. I knew as it was going on, the winner of the series would win the rivalry. Beating the Avs that year was almost more important than winning the Cup. Game 7, 7-0, is my all time favorite Red Wings game! It is also one of two games I have very fond memories of, remembering where I was. Ordonez's HR in Game 4 of the 2006 ALCS is the other one! Those two games, especially, I'll remember forever! 2002 was my favorite Wings Championship.

Me too. I still turn the channel, or turn away from the TV, when they show Cindy with the Cup. I would expect Pens fans to do the same thing when they show Lidstrom raising the Cup on TV.
-
I hear ya, he's #3 on my all-time list, behind "The Captain" and DMac.
-
The cool thing about the 1996 World Cup, after playing on the same line with Shanahan, Yzerman told Scotty that Shanny was the power forward they were looking for, and to get him to Detroit! And the rest they say is history!
-
I think it's a plain and simple no. There's no room for him on the roster, and no cap room either.
-
I'm always on the side of the players in CBA's, but I think this is fair. However I think the wording in this statement should say, Kyper saying owners and general managers will no longer be able to use ages 41 and over to circumvent cap. It wasn't the players who are doing this, it's the owners and general managers. But the NHL, Bettman, and Daly, are gutless and blame the players.
-
Yea I was going to point that out too, Maltby got here at the end of the 1995-96 season, just in time for all the fun!

I don't think it matters who you are, guy or girl, sports is really the only form of entertainment that provides real life results. There's only so many guy gets the girl, or girl gets the guy, and everything is perfect endings that movies provide. Movie ending, at least for me, become boring very fast! When your favorite team wins a championship, it's such a great feeling of accomplishment and community, everyone can appreciate that, guy/girl/old/young! I know a lot of knowledgeable female sports fans. And I think the opening post gives a great point that there's probably the same amount of girls who watch guys sports because they think they guys are cute, as there are guys who watch female tennis and other female sports for the "eye candy" and fit women.

And I think those two deserve it.

Considering Ozzie is the franchise leader in playoff wins and second in regular season wins, he should be up there. Kelly should be up there too. I really don't know enough about Aurie to have a true opinion one way or the other, but looking at his career numbers, he was a similar player to Abel.

So I guess instead of looking back at the press box and seeing Stevie sitting with Holland and Nill, it'll be Chelios!

#3 gives me chills every time! I'd like to see a list sometime of the most important goals, not just the prettiest. DMac's would be there, along with Kozlov's OT GWG from the 1995 WFC, Yzerman's OT GWG Game 7 1996 vs. St.Louis, Shanny's empty netter Game 6 1997 WFC, Draper's OT winner in the 1998 Final, Larionov's OT GWG Game 3 2002, Shanny's EN Game 5 2002 Final, the Turd Goal (Zetterberg's) in the 2008 Final, and the OT GWG's in the 2009 WCF by Samuelsson and Helm. There's 10 off the top of my head! Man, we've seen a lot of great moment!
-
Outside of the cup clinching games, my favorite Red Wings games include: -Game 5 1995 WCF vs. Chicago. Kozzie's OT goal sends us to the final! Who new, that would be the end? -March 26, 1997, the Revenge Game! -Game 6 1997 WCF vs. the Avs. We beat the Avs and are going to the Stanley Cup final! -Game 2 1998 SCF vs. Washington. The 3rd period comeback and Draper's OT goal! -Game 7 2002 WCF vs. the Avs. The 7-0 win! My favorite Wings game, including the cup clinchers! -Game 2 2009 WCF vs. Chicago. Sammy's OT winner!
-
I think the circle and red line would look kinda cool!
-
I was at that game too! It was far from my first game at The Joe though... What a great moment seeing Yzerman score that goal to pass Lemieux! That was the last time I saw Stevie live on the ice, and what a great way to end it, being able to give him a standing ovation! I'm man enough to admit I teared up. It was my own personal storybook finish! The funny thing too, out of all the times I saw Stevie live, that was the only time I saw him score a goal. It was well worth the wait!

Why don't you just google "Red Wings center ice Hockeytown Logo"?

Yea I laughed at that too! I wouldn't be surprised if the SJ Divers slip a couple spots in the standings. Not only did they lose Nabokov, you have to think their playoff failures are going to effect them in the Regular Season this year. -

I had to laugh at the Leafs section: Boston's going to win a Stanley Cup soon, thanks to a lot of help from the Maple Leafs.
