Hey, just wanted to pass along that Greg Brady, who used to be on 97.1, is on the FAN590 in Toronto now. Today was his first day in the Noon-3pm time slot. I enjoyed listening to him, he seem to have good knowledge in all the sports, not just one or two. He made a few Detroit references and mentioned Holland, Yzerman, Fedorov, Verlander, Bonderman, and Kenny Rogers. I even sent him an e-mail today saying that I enjoyed the show and the Detroit talk. Starting in September Greg will be hosting Hockey Central at Noon with Nick Kypreos, and Doug McLean. I've never been a fan of Darren Millard, the old host, so I'm looking forward to hearing what Brady has to offer.

The single biggest scapegoat of the Red Wings in the last 20+ years...
Barrie replied to stevkrause's topic in General
Yes I remember the goal he let in off Steve Thomas, he went down to soon, I thought at the time, and still do, that Hasek would have stopped it. It was a play/goal that I think cost us the series. If he made that save, things would have been different. As mentioned before, I'm not blaming CuJo, because the offense wasn't working, but I agree the expectations were to much for him and he couldn't handle it, especially coming from Toronto where the expectations were much lower. Hasek was able to handle it, CuJo wasn't, so I have no sympathy when I hear him say coming to Detroit was the biggest mistake of his career. As good as he was, he just wasn't mentally tough enough for Detroit, and he probably should have stayed in Toronto. That just comes with playing goal in Detroit. Everyone playing between the pipes here has to deal with it. -

See now there's a much better Chicago top 4 than Yahoo's. As mentioned, I'm not a Chicago expert, so I forgot about Savard. -

Mount Puckmore For fun, here's more teams. It includes Montreal, Boston, Colorado, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and more. We're still waiting on Toronto, NYR, Edmonton, etc. -

Right, I'm not a Blackhawk expert, but wouldn't their four be Hull, Mikita, Esposito, and Hall? Hall is debatable, but Hull, Mikita, and Tony Espo are a no brainer! It's just to soon for Toews. -

Sawchuk Yea most of his career was in Detroit, but he did also play in Boston and Toronto, and had cups of coffee in LA and NY. I don't want to take anything away from Terry, but he wasn't the same goalie when he came back to the Wings from Boston. Most of that could have been because of Adams, but Sawchuck's numbers weren't the same. -
Hey, here's the website for the radio station, click on listen live. He's on from Noon-3pm, Eastern Standard Time, Monday-Friday. I believe Britain is 6 hours ahead of Detroit-Toronto-New York time. FAN590

I won't argue those four. Sawchuck, as great as he was, didn't play here long enough to be in the top four. He's fifth. -

Wasn't the reason we brought back Hasek was so St. Louis, Colorado, or Dallas (who all needed goalies for the 03-04 season) wouldn't get him? If the Wings were willing to pay for Hasek and CuJo, I can't really blame them for that. -

It's been said the two toughest jobs in Detroit are Quarterback of the Lions and Goalie of the Red Wings, and not in that order... CuJo's numbers were the same in Toronto and Detroit. In Toronto he was a hero, in Detroit he wasn't. In my opinion all it really shows the difference in expectations of the fans and organizations. I don't think CuJo was the one to blame in the 2003 and 2004 playoffs, we couldn't beat Giggy and Kipper, but I don't feel sorry for him, that's just how it goes in sports. Plus he made a lot of money two years here, so he can't complain too much. -
That's the one, although McCown now starts at 3:00. Brady made a comment about Cecil Fielder today and the season he hit 50 HR! I'm a big fan of this guy already after only two days!

Speaking of 97.1, what is DMac's gig on the station? Has he started yet?

I think Lidstrom is done winning the Norris, but I'll be cheering him on!

Should I complain about the jersey customization?
Barrie replied to Behind Enemy Lines in CO's topic in General
I'd leave it, it's nothing major, and trying to fix it, considering the numbers are stiched on, may make it worse. -
Crosby doesn't suck but he's a whiney little bitch, however.

Crosby sucks! -
After the off seasons SJ, Chicago, and we had, I think we're going to top the Western Conference again in the Regular Season. The playoffs though, are always a different story...

Good stuff, I'm buying the "Homer pack" then, 3 games, 6 tickets, for $96! Coming from Canada, I didn't want to go all the way to Auburn Hills for Wings games. The Joe is the perfect spot for those of us in Ontario!

I guess Bettman is trying for a 0% approval rating. How much more can this guy be hated? If he starts voiding Luongo, Hossa, Savard, and Pronger deals, and even try's the Zetterberg, Franzen, Lecavalier, etc. ones he should seriously watch his back and keep his public appearances to a minimum. Seriously how much more until some crazed fan try's to take him out? First of all he pissed of the PA with the cap, now he'll piss of owners if they lose their top stars. What a mess! It's time to show Bettman (I think his days are becoming numbered) the door and go with a more sensible Luxury Cap system.

Well I guess to stick up for CMICHdave, the NHL HOF standards are so low that they're debating if Paul Henderson should be in! Holmstrom has slightly less regular season numbers than Paul, but much better post season numbers! Here's a comparison between Henderson and Holmstrom: Paul Henderson Tomas Holmstrom Still though, the answer is "no"

As a joke I was thinking of voting yes, but my better judgment told me, "no don't"

I don't know if I'd want to be stuck up in the 3rd level, that's way up there!.. I do like the glass roof, that's kinda cool!

After the Modano signing and Hudler coming back, is there even room for Maltby?

I'm not surprised we're #1 in the NHL. I've been saying that for years! Boston really cleaned up eh? Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots in the top 7! I don't watch enough NBA and NFL to have an opinion there, but I can't really argue with the Red Sox being #1 in Baseball.
