I think the only one I like is no-touch icing.

and he's got a lot of growing up to do too.

1. Datsyuk 2. Zetterberg 3. _________ ---> whoever is going good at the moment.
-
I say "No" to both points here. Lemieux is ahead of Sakic and Yzerman on the all-time greatest list. Crosby is no where near Sakic and Yzerman territory.
-
And to add to your argument, Gilmour wasn't even the Leafs Captain when they went to the WCF in 1993 and 1994, it was Clark. Dougie was Captain after Clark was traded before the 1995 lockout shortened season, and only wore the C until he was traded to NJ at the 1997 deadline. I think Armstrong is a no-brainer! Edit: Great list GMRwings1983, no arguments or disagreements from me at all!
-
Mitchell who? Oh, and I vote 2001, Hasek, Hull, and Robitaille. Edit: Oh wait, forget it, you're talking Willie.
-
Funny how Calgary makes themselves a heritage jersey, when they've only been around since 1980. Is that jersey based on an earlier Calgary team in another league? I agree with GMRwings1983, just wear the 80 style ones. I guess they want to sell more merchandise. It's all marketing.

Yzerman is king, but Zetterberg is da man!
-
Me too! I have a Shanahan and McCarty too, along with an Osgood and Holmstrom jersey t-shirts. Also, I have an Yzerman baseball jersey and jersey t-shirt, and a Maltby cap. I'm good!

Forsberg eyeing another NHL comeback?
Barrie replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
It wouldn't be a hockey season without Forsberg talking comeback. -
+1 for you, that literally made me "lol"!

This has nothing to do with Modano, but two big  for Pearl Jam!

For a one year deal, I can live with it. Welcome to Hockeytown Mike!
-
Haha, I never thought of that. Maybe he's pissed he has to break up his championship team and is crying poor so he doesn't have to put money towards revenue sharing.
-
We all know the NHL is in some serious financial trouble and Bettman is a liar, but when he says the league is in fine shape and the Stanley Cup Champion lost money, we know Gary's "full of crap" (to put in nicely)! I'm sure the league was hoping for some revenue sharing money from Chicago to help the even worse off. Maybe it's time to get rid of the cap floor? Edit: Add to that the Red Wings profits are probably down a bit since the Yzerman era ended. There's not enough money to go around with the current CBA.

My favorite team, currently, to see us beat in the West is Calgary. Pittsburgh in the East, no doubt.
-
Yea I think Pittsburgh is most hated because they are annoying, it's not because they're good because they've only won one cup. Bettman favors the Pens and Cindy way to much, that's why they're the most hated! We're hated because we're good, and I'm proud of it!
-
2002 was my favorite, then 1997, 2008, and 1998. Probably my favorite non-cup teams were 2000 and 2004.
-
I'm even finding the Ovechkin stuff annoying too. Enough Crosby and Ovechkin! This game is guaranteed to have high ratings, why doesn't the NHL use it to market their other stars? Washington and Pittsburgh has been done already, two years ago in the playoffs.
-
I'm not watching it either. I guess Bettman still hasn't realized Crosby isn't liked outside Pittsburgh and some parts of Canada. Man the NHL is stubborn and doesn't know how to market themselves properly! Cash in on the USA Olympic Team's success and the Chicago-Philly Stanley Cup Final you morons, quit this Crosby crap already!

Watch what you eat at Detroit Area Pro Sporting Events

Obviously I'm not a Toronto fan, but good to see the closest big league city where I live, and been to a Baseball and Canadian Football game recently, is 0%. Although I'm in Detroit a lot more for sports. Good thing too, I don't want to wait in the long food lines at The Joe and Comerica Park. I'm not surprised by the results. -
Hey just wondering who has the complete 1972 Summit Series Games on DVD? I bought it last week and have watched the first two games. The puck is just getting ready to drop for the third game... Game 1 was a little slow, a feeling out process probably, but Game 2 really picked up! Watching it now, the way the game is played post lockout, there could easily be 10 Power Plays a side or more. There was so much interference back then it's unreal! I don't know if that was just the way the series was played, or if that's the way it was in the NHL too. Anyway just wondering if anyone else has this series on DVD? I really enjoyed what I've seen so far, and it'll only get better! Oh, I should add, that Peter Mahovlich goal looked eerily similar to DMac's Stanley Cup winner against Philly in 1997! Maybe that's where Mac learned the deke?

Is it too soon to worry about another NHL lockout?
Barrie replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Call me crazy, but I'd be willing to have the NHL season sit out another season to "can" the hard cap and floor (especially the floor), and get a luxury tax system. Just like TV, I don't like the Carolina-Edmonton and Anaheim-Ottawa finals. Plus I think with 16 teams making the playoffs, there is more than enough opportunities for the big spenders to lose. Plus big spending doesn't always guarantee winning, they still need to spend it properly i.e new York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs. Personally I think a MLB luxury tax system with 16 teams making the playoffs is the best way to go. -
