Remembering Derian Hatcher's tenure with Detroit

Yup, that's the risk when we buy tickets... Maybe it would have been a different story too if Yzerman didn't get injured in Game 5. -
Remembering Derian Hatcher's tenure with Detroit

Wow some harsh words for someone who was injured! Yea he didn't play well in the 2004 playoffs, but neither did a lot of our other guys. Let it go! I was a fan of the signing. It's to bad the lockout and the salary cap made his time in Detroit very brief! I would have like to seen him finish off his career as a Red Wing. -
You sound fine to me . Funny that you had to choose college over buying a Maltby jersey.
-
That's pretty obvious they were trying to reduce the cap hit. Can't blame NJ for trying.
-
I'd be all for that. I keep hearing the small markets were better off before the lockout, the cap floor is really hurting them. They aren't bringing in enough revenue to spend $40+ Million on team salary. Plus with these long term contracts being the norm, the small markets can't keep up if they are spending the minimum. It'll be an interesting time when the next CBA negotiation takes place.
-
I'm ok with these long term deals, like eva said players will be staying with teams longer, which is better for the fans. I like that Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Franzen will be Red Wings for life.
-
Thanks, great clips! I subscribed to your youtube channel.

Well compare that to what Minnesota did with their "State of Hockey". Chicago should do something like that.
-
I'm a Baseball and Football fan too, so I'm following the Tigers, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. I have to admit, I've not missed Hockey one bit. I love the summer so I'm never in a hurry for the NHL to get going again. However, when October hits, I'm always looking forward to watching the Wings again.
-
Good to hear a Hawks fan say they don't like the name. Like I said in my earlier post, especially a city like yours, you don't need to copy anyone. Chicago is one of those cities that starts trends, doesn't have to follow them.
-
Pal, keep your ankles taped! Wow, just wow! This isn't some small market like Florida or Carolina, this is Chicago! You'd think Chicago would have enough city ego and pride to think of their own thing, instead of copying Detroit. Sad, embarrassing, and pathetic if you ask me. I wonder what Hawk fans are thinking.
-
"Hawkeytown" is what someone from New England sounds like when they say "Hockeytown". Just like when Pedro Martinez called the Yankees his Daddy. We should start chanting, "Who's your Daddy" when the Hawks are in town.
-
Exactly what I was thinking. It's like the Blackhawks are our jealous little brothers.
-
I basic idea of the movie is decent, but obvious reasons makes this a "must miss!"
-
I'd rather have Maltby than Modano. With Modano I'm sure the team would feel pressure to at least give him 3rd line minutes. Maltby can play 8-10 minutes or can be a healthy scratch without complaints.

Yes sir, one of my all-time favorite playoff OT goals. I remember I was out that night, and I got home just in time to see the goal. When Sammy scored let out one of the loudest cheers I ever have in my life! I started laughing wondering what my neighbors were thinking when they heard me yell.
-
Yup, that's what I was thinking too, someone's drunk!
-
Funny, I don't consider a game from 1996 as very old.
-
Oh well, he followed party lines and said what he should have said to the Toronto fans and media. I think Burke is more full of it than Lebda.
-
Poor Lebda, he goes from the best organization in the NHL to the worst!
-
Right. Burke keeps doing interviews where he says all these big names he's going to trade for and/or sign, and my reaction is, "How?!" lol, I guess it's all part of his pipe dream of winning the Stanley Cup in 5 years. Again my reaction is, "How?!"

I wonder if this will be another Datsyuk type scenario? Didn't teams pass on Pavs too because of injury problems?
