Doesn't anybody look at the birthdate? HE IS NOT ELIGIBLE UNTIL THE 2007 DRAFT HE IS NOT ELIGIBLE UNTIL THE 2007 DRAFT HE IS NOT ELIGIBLE UNTIL THE 2007 DRAFT HE IS NOT ELIGIBLE UNTIL THE 2007 DRAFT HE IS NOT ELIGIBLE UNTIL THE 2007 DRAFT That should be enough, right?

I find it amusing they reranked Latendresse after he had made his NHL debut. A week before the seaosn started, Latendresse was a 7.5C (the same rating as Kopecky) and Abdelkader was a 7.0B. BTW...Latendresse has scored no goals, no assists, and is a -2 in six games. Compare with the more versatile Kopecky and the more skilled Hudler, who each have a goal and are +1 in only 4 games each.

Shanny took the same salary in NY that Holland was offering. He didn't leave over money. And Based on Shanny's reasoning, Holland had NO CHANCE to retain him.

Did any of you even read the article? And where does it say ANYTHING about women?

We passed on a physical winger with top six potential who is from Quebec...for a physical winger with top six potential who is from Michigan. Where is the problem?
-
Give it a year, and we might.

I meant teams with a real shot..Boise State has like one loss in three and a half seasons and has never seriously had a shot at the title. Rutgers, Louisville, and WVU all have to play each other anyway--only one of them at most is escaping that undefeated. So we'll end up with one Big 10 team and one Big East team undefeated. Michigan or OSU from the Big Ten and most likely Louisville from the Big East. Wouldn't be shocked to see the winner of the UM/OSU game as the only undefeated team left, though. Rutgers is good enough to take down one of WVU or Louisville.
-
Polanco is ALCS MVP. He deserved the flat out AL MVP, but ALCS is close enough.
-
OSU, Michigan, USC, and WVU are the only undefeated teams left. USC will likely lose to Oregon and/or Notre Dame. WVU has proven nothing and stands a good chance of losing at least one. Michigan and OSU should be undefeated heading into the last game, which only one can emerge from with a perfect record--and the other likely remains in the top three or four.

Osgood wore the same size pads then as now. Here's Ozzie in 1998. Here's Ozzie now: As you can see, his pads are the same size.
-
Datsyuk and Zetterberg do not play on the same line. Zetterberg is a better scorer than Dats, and might be an equally talented playmaker as well. Better idea than a Lang trade..let's scratch (or waive) Norton and put Hudler and Kopecky on scoring lines and put Draper between Maltby and Cleary where he belongs.

A second string 1b/C is still a better option than having a fourth-string SS/2b.
-
Shelton is not on the playoff roster...our options at first are Guillen and Pudge.
-
Chris Shelton would have been nice to have on the playoff roster. Don't really see the need to have THREE BACKUPS who play SS/2b...One of Perez, Infante, Santiago should have been left off in favor of Shelton.
-
Now for Auburn to beat Florida... Notre Dame gets to beat USC. And Michigan/OSU will determine one of the participants in the title game.
-
Sheffield began his career as a shortstop. Cano was a shortstop prospect who was converted to 2b--think Omar Infante. True, Sheffield has not played terribly much at short since his first couple of years, but that doesn't change the fact he started as one.
-
The Yankees also had the problem with four shortstops playing in one infield.
-
College kids aren't drafted in the CHL Import Draft, either.

Osgood is listed at 178. Vernon was listed as low as 155. Those guys are Cup winners. You don't have to be a hulking brute (lookin at you, Kolzig) to be a successful goalie.
-
As mentioned before, Lapointe put up better numbers in juniors. As a matter of fact, so did Darryl Bootland.

I thought he allegedly grabbed him by the collar? Not that I disagree about being able to see him choking someone, just saying that he's not een supposed to have been choking the guy. Come on, he's not Latrell Sprewell.

What Do the Wings & Yankees Have in Common?
eva unit zero replied to livediehockey80's topic in Other Sports
One major difference....the Wings have never operated on a salary structure that is far and away beyond what any other team can do. On the few occasions recently when they have had a high payroll, other teams such as the Rangers and Maple Leafs have not been far off. The Yankees, on the other hand, have a payroll that is seventy-four million above the NEXT HIGHEST team. Let alone compared to a team like Detroit, which has a total that is less than half of the Yankees' bloated payroll. Edmonton was only a few million behind the Red Wings--the cap/floor system doesn't really allow for much difference in salaries anymore. -
Anybody else have the feeling that if the Tigers win this series, they go all the way?
-
Latendresse' big weakness is his subpar skating, and he's projected as a second line talent in EVERY scouting report I've read. He is a physical guy capable of playing either side. What about all that DOESN'T compare in both ability and style to Marty Lapointe?

Read WhiteLightning91's post. Better yet;
