It's not like we were gonna win anyway...Garretson was officiating. What's that, 1-8 with Crawford or Garretson, 13-1 otherwise? At least Crawford isn't in next game I don't think...otherwise we'd be screwed. -

OVERTIME Oh heeeeeelllllz no. Well, now that the Pistons have played like crap through 4 quarters and not lost...time to play decent ball and win it. -
Kopecky has by far the most talent of any of them...and he's got just as much physical ability as any of them. Give the guy a freakin full season. Groulx will most certainly be cut loose. He, like Barnes, needed to be ready for the bigs. by last season if he was going to stay with Detroit. I think Kopecky will be kept, simply because although he's struggled, he is the best combination of offensive skill and physical prowess the Wings have in the system. His only problem is that he has had a minor injury here or there that has thrown off his momentum. If he can put together a solid full season he will get back to being the monster he was in junior and in his first pro season. I still think Kopecky has the potential to be a major force in the bigs...he has more talent than the other three combined. It will come down to whether they think Robinson's speed or Bootland's aggressiveness and attitude will be more valuable to the team as to which one is kept.

Who cares if Mags *******....I just want him back in the lineup. Rather have him than Logan. Or leave Young at first and put Monroe in left if they want to keep Logan in. 3b Inge SS Guillen C Pudge DH White 1b Young LF Monroe RF Ordonez 2b Polanco CF Logan That's a pretty damn solid lineup. Good hitters 1-9. Now if we could just replace ******* Ledzema with a decent 5th!!

I'm sure they wouldn't actually smash the car. For one thing, they don't have a gambling license, which they would need were they to collect on the bet. For another, radio stations don't tend to be like that. Though I do remember one where a girl put her tongue to a live wire.... -

yow... Crawford worked game 2...Garretson worked game 1. Interesting indeed.... EDIT: Game 2 against Miami was the only game Neithr Crawford nor Garretson worked. And Miam iclosed that game out with Dwyane Wade going nuts and scoring 20 points in the 4th quarter and playing some of his best defense. Detroit played well enough to win...Wade stole that game in the 4th. In other words the Pistons could easily be 12-0 in non Crawford/Garretson games, which have for the most part been called fairly. Looking at ridiculously officiated games like game 2 of the finals where Craw and Garish are in charge, you have to wonder...these guys' have officiated the Pistons to 1-7, other guys to 11-1....it could just be a coincidence..but could easily be intentional attempts to cause the Pistons to lose. -

Anytime you want to take your foot out of your mouth and give the Spurs their props for beating up the defending champs you can do so. They need to finish the series before anyone crowns them champs but they are well on their way to doing so. Keep on X'ing and O'ing the series for us. I like reading all the commentary on basketball games from a hockey point of view. The Spurs have done well, no doubt...but they have not been that much better...the score is not showing the way the game has been...as I said...the ridiculous difference in foul calls was almost the exact difference in the score. I can understand some of the late fouls and Chancey's T, due to frustration and all. But a hck of a lot of those fouls were called early. And that huge discrepancy and the similarity between the Spurs' lead in FT points to the Spurs' margin of victory is AWFUL suspicious. When's the last time you saw an NBA finals game where one team received DOUBLE the number of free throws? Are you gonna tell me the Pistons were just hackin away that much, and the Spurs were just that clean? Don't buy that for a second. -

Doesn't help that the Spurs have more than twice as many FT attempts as Detroit...Duncan and Ginobli each have been to the line almost as much as the entire Detroit TEAM. This officiating is SICKENING. The Spurs' lead has come almost entirely from FTs...and you can't seriously tell me that they have committed less than half as many fouls as Detroit. The Spurs would be up by 4, give or take a couple if they hadn't had the 20 attempt advantage. Just disgusting. Ginobli has dropped 16 from the field and ELEVEN from the line. Duncan has put in 8 of his 18 from the line. You're gonna tell me that this isn't another case of bubble fouls? -

Ben needs to get back to being Ben. Arroyo needs to just not play. I wouldn't mind Darko seeing real minutes...he's not that bad, and the Spurs wouldn't know what to expect from him because how much have they really seen of him? -
I'll take Polanco for a spare shortstop and a mid-level reliever. I was wondering how long it would take to deal Urbina once Percival got healthy. Polanco will almost certainly start at 2nd ahead of Infante. Tigers could put out this lineup... 1) Inge, 3b 2) Guillen, SS 3) Rodriguez, C 4) White, LF 5) Young, 1b 6) Monroe, CF 7) Polanco, 2b 8) Higginson, RF 9) Logan, DH Yeah I know...Higgy's barely played this year and when he's played, he didn't hit anything. But he's the best fielder on the team, and I'd rather have Young at 1st than Pena, and White in the field, which doesn't leave a ton of choices for center fielders or for DH.

Bowen is the best defensive SF in basketball, and was runner up for Defender of the year. -
what accident did kozlov have ?i dont remember hearing bout that i use to love kozlov with detroit , he use to score big goals in the playoffs if some accident affected his career i could only imagine how much better he would of been if it didnt happen It was when he was a kid in Russia...eerily similar to Grigorenko's. Kozlov was badly hurt and although he was damn good when he came over, he was not nearly the dominant player he would have been had the accident never happened. When he was first scouted, he was dominating leagues of players in his own age group and much older, to the point where the Russians kept his name off the roster to prevent teams from trying to scout him.

If you call Duncan v Wallace even you are on the crack pipe. He'll beat you down low and he'll whip you on the high post. Tim Duncan is the best player in basketball bar none right now. There hasn't been a more complete player in the league since 23 was playing in Chicago. The Pistons escaped with a victory in Miami. They won't escape with a win in San Antonio. San Antonio will protect their home court and will win in 5 or 6. Bowen will shut down who ever he guards. See Shawn Marion if you can find him for reference. You will see the dagger in this series come in the form of #5 with a straight away 3 to close you out in Detroit. Can't wait for basketball to end so we can get some FOOTBALL to start watching soon. Duncan was limited to 18 points in his one game against Detroit this season. Granted, past is the past, but a guy who averages 25 points getting held to 18 is pretty significant. But Ben is the best defensive player in the NBA, and he'll give Duncan all he can handle. Although I have put a little bit of thought into something. Scenario 2: C Ben Wallace vs C Nazr Mohammed PF Rasheed Wallace vs PF Tim Duncan With Ben on Mohammed, Rasheed forces Duncan to leave the paint. Ben will outwork and outquick Mohammed and get his double-doubles. Duncan's inside game will be limited because he has to prevent Sheed from being left uncontested for range shots. Sheed can't guard TD like Ben can, but he can cover well enough. With Nazr's pathetic offense, Ben can play help out on Duncan. -

The ever (un)anticipated... MATCHUP POST! C Ben Wallace vs PF Tim Duncan Wallace's defense vs Duncan's offense will be a big story during the series. Wallace has seriously limited Shaq twice now, and although more complete Duncan is easier for one guy to guard. Edge: Even PF Rasheed Wallace vs C Nazr Mohammed Mohammed will have his hands full with Sheed, and this could really be key to the series. Mohammed will try to muscle Sheed around, but Sheed's quickness and his perimeter game will tear up the slower Mohammed. Edge: Pistons SF Tayshaun Prince vs SG Manu Ginobli Prince is one of the best defensive players in the NBA. Ginobli is a hot guard scoring 20 points a game in the playoffs. The nagain, who has Ginobli played against that is really any good defensively? Prince could bring him back to earth. Edge: Even PG Chauncey Billups vs PG Tony Parker Parker and Billups have both put up pretty strong numbers in the postseason. Billups is a top defensive guard, something Parker hasn't even come close to facing this playoff. Billups has builts his career on clutch performances and was last year's finals MVP. Edge: Even SG Rip Hamilton vs SF Bruce Bowen Bowen was the runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year. Hamilton is scoring 20+ points a game and is the best conditioned athlete in the league, and the quickest guy in the series. Only Miami's Jones has put strong pressure on Rip, but Rip still scored 24 points a game in the series. Rip could still go nuts, or he could be held to the teens. Edge: Even Bench: The Spurs have a better offensive bench with the likes of Horry and Robinson stepping in, and those guys are necessary with guys like Mohammed and Bowen on the floor. Detroit gets more scoring from their starters, so they can save their bench for the defensive specialists of a kind that San Antonio doesn't have. Elden Campbell has shown an ability to defend that a lot of really great players don't have. Lindsey hunter's pressure defense drives some guys nuts, and he could do the same kind of job on Parker or Ginobli he was doing on Wade when he was in. Antonio McDyess and Brent Barry bring a bit of extra scoring and attitude to the bench as well. Edge: Even Coaching: Detroit has Larry Brown. San Antonio has Gregg Popovich. They're close friends, mentor and student, same style, look for and implement similar personnel...they might even be the same coach. Edge: Even. This series is going to be very tight, defensive basketball with close games every go-round. The 2-3-2 matchup is definitely goign to favor the Pistons, and if they can steal one of the first two, they can probably wrap it up at home. Prediction: Pistons in 5 -

Doesn't matter if he plays or not. If he plays, he'll just take away time from players who will contribute. If not, it will be like game 6. -
I'm hopin Grigs does turn out to still hit his full potential. Because it was as good as Ovechkin...and if he pulls that out....Zetterberg/Datsyuk/Grigorenko will be kickin some butt for a GOOD long while. Add in Fischer/Kronwall, and Howard/Liv as the goalie tandem? Holy crap...lol. Great core unit for 10 years plus.

Infante has been playing well as of late... Ledzema is a joke. He's got an ERA over 7, 3 higher than the team's ERA. The opposing team's BA against him is OVER .300. How he ever got into the rotation baffles me. He has given maybe one good pitching performance in a Detroit uniform. Heck, why don't we bring back Cornejo? In his one full season (2003) His ERA was 4.67...and the Tigers have significantly better defense now. His WHIP was 1.5...but again, improved defense would cut down on hits. He also gave up only 18 HR in 195 innings. Some of the better picthers in the majors are on pace to give up around 25-30 this year for a comparable number of innings...Eric Milton has already given up 21, Johan Sanatan has given up 10 in only 83 innings. Brett Myers has given up 10 in 80. Mark Prior has given up 9 in 58. In other words....BRING BACK NATE!

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylc=X3oD...=yhoo&type=lgns Look at all the excuses in Wetzel's column Yep...dominated the Heat but ONLY because God..err Wade...wasn't there. Underrated, but still on the All defensive team. Because When Shaq was out, the Heat played the Washington Worthless...and Wade is out against the crappy defending champions. That's pretty much comparable competition right? The Heat are a very good team. But every kept saying that they weren't just Shaq and Wade. Now they're saying that they are JUST WADE, wide a side of MVP-Runner Up Shaq? Yeah sure Yeah...because one pretty good player is going to determine whether his team gets dominated by the defending champions or, if he has the BEST GAMES OF HIS CAREER and his team's other star is playing hurt, his team plays 50-50 ball with them? Yep...Wade is sure Miami's MVP. Not. -
