He DID work his ass off in the playoffs, but things didn't turn out his way. It's not like he was still under contract with the Wings and asked for a trade! I mean would you boo Dandenault? or Kopecky?

Couple of moments stand out but not necessarily "fav" moments..... The game against the Mtl Canadiens, the Wings were playing poorly and I was feeling super s***ty about ditching class to watch the game... But Franzen's goal saved the night Oh, and Helm's PK efforts in gm 6 against the Hawks... I am in awe of this guy's flair and poise!

I'm a triplet, I gotta tell you, even looking at the Niedermayers (ok, not twins), but playing with a brother gives you that much motivation. With that said, if these two want to stay together, they'll have to take a pay cut/

I hate to pour oil on the fire, but to get to 1 win and not finish it really hurts.... Next year is going to be extremely long. Can the 'youngsters' keep up their stellar play for a whole season? Can the Red Wings manage to find more juice and motivation, in spite of the olympics, at which 1/4 of the team will participate?

But we get attached, we put a lot of hopes and aspirations on their success. Pro teams help us take our mind off everyday problems and lets us get away. It's also a great way to meet fellow fans

Like I've said in another thread, Hossa played very well in the regular season. He's one of the reasons why the Wings played game 7 AT HOME. Ok, so he took a paycut to come to Detroit, BUT EVERYONE DOES THAT geez, the team lost, not just Hossa.

A BIG problem with NHL 2009 is what we call "the comeback rule".. Whenever one player takes a lead (1, 2 or 3...............), youc an notice how the other team gets advantaged, to even up the score... Yesterday I was leading 4-0, and in 5 shots it became 4-4.... It's like the goalie can't touch the puck anymore until it's in the net!! I wish EA would fix this, it's terrible!!!

What's up everyone? I was reading some previous of the upcoming series against the BJ's..... How much doubt do you think there is for this year's Red Wings playoffs compared to, say 1998? I remember the Wings weren't as high in the standings that year, and I know there are a lot of differences with this year, as the Wings flirted with the Presidents' trophy for a while.. I know there are going to be a LOT of mentions on goaltending, but I'd rather not turn this into an Ozzy sux/rulz thread!

That's a pretty optimistic, AND REALISTIC point you make. But a the same time, I hate to use the stereotype, but I do believe they can be able to "turn it on" come playoff time... We've seen it last year with the grinders, and this roster is overflowing with experience... Who knew Brett Hull would be so dead-on when he said "I'd rather be old and wise rather then young and stupid any day"

Lol, I previously mentionned Hackett because I'm capable of the best, but the worst comes out at time too!!!!!

Jeff Hackett wouldn't have been my first choice, but by the looks of it I might be pushed to 3rd string goalie lol!!!
