Stuart proved countless times his worth, ESPECIALLY when Lids got hurt. He plays very well and it's just that most people here seem hung up on his blunders rather than what he did well on the ice. I have to say I'm not sure about Bertuzzi.. I find it hard to believe this is the guy who played on one of the greatest lines (Naslund-Bertuzzi-Morrisson).. Yes he's older but I didn't see any spark in him this season. Huge shame I still believe in this team, if it stays healthy. Yes the coach was right, having Eaves and Helm would have made the 3rd and 4th line a lot more formidable

Wow that above post is just drooling with negativity.. Back when the Wings were 1st in the league, they also were relatively healthy! Any team that loses their #1 defenseman, center and goalie is gonna run into trouble.. And then there were the injuries to Franzen and Big E.... This team has had a lot of trouble recently but it's better they face a little adversity now than in the playoffs after coasting through another Central Division title... People seem to forget the Blues game went to a shootout and the team had to travel back home overnight.. They still dominated NJ. There won't be too many back-to-back games in the playoffs (freakin' 09' finals.. Still can't get over that one)

You have to factor in the travelling to the West Coast.. Maybe the Wings COULD face a weaker opponent (still debatable though) but the extra miles could take their toll for a long playoff run!

Maybe this move will have to wait until Franzen is healthy again, but how about re-uniting Zetterberg with Datsyuk and Homer? You got two snipers, and with a solid presence in front of the net maybe that could give the team some timely goals?

Well he's been dubbed a powerplay specialist.. But you can't blame the Wings' powerplay woes onto him alone.. I just thought maybe reuniting him with a couple of sniper would help out the team's production, although this is assuming the 2nd line (Flip+Franzen+Hudler or Bert) can follow suit!

I think Ozzy still has what it takes to be a starter.. Yes, his stats are sub-par for a 3-time cup winner... But it's hard getting into a groove when only getting 1-2 starts a month!

2001 off-season, no contest. But I see what you mean... A hopefully hungry Wings team, a long off-season, Happy's return, Modano signing... And I'm so greatful the Wings aren't starting their season in Europe!

Still miss him

I thought he still had a lot of hockey left.. I mean, he's "only" 36... But after that season during which he took half the year off, he never came back to his old self

I have to say those "keep my shirt on" and "I love cab drivers" comments were funny. And I think the belt is really tacky!

I probably hate Kane and the Hawks more than anyone on this board. But look, he did admit his mistakes, I'm not saying he paid his dues, but he's just joking around, without (obviously) implying what he did to the cabbie was funny...

Jim Hughson (sp?) is pretty good, no wonder EA Sports has turned to him all those years.. Also, Gord Miller (Remember Zata's backhand-while-falling goal against Colorado?) has a lot of talent.
