Beginner's Guide To Baseball - Chris Simon

It looks like Schlesinger has played his last game as a Lion. Which is a shame, because nobody, except for maybe Hanson, has been anywhere near as dependable. But if Duckett is willing to take the lead at fullback as well as be a short-yardage hammer, the Lions RBs should be in great shape. However, the Lions will never have any kind of running game unless the O-line shapes up. BIG time.

Huh????? Are you serious? The owners are the NHL. If all 30 owners got together and decided to form a new league with the same teams, they'd probably call it............the National Hockey League. Bettman is hired by the owners. The owners pay him. The NHL is not some shadowy organization that forces these changes on the owners. At the end of the day, it's the owners that make the decisions. If Bettman wants bigger nets, the owners have to agree.

The state of the NHLPA has nothing to do with the state of the NHL. If the NHLPA catastrophically collapses, the players will form a new union and life will go on. In fact, the financial health of the NHL is probably a little bit inversely proportional to the strength of the PA. Of the four major leagues, the NFL is in the best shape financially, followed by the NBA, MLB, and NHL. That's the exact opposite order of union strength.

The Wings didn't get swept, they lost four in a row after being up 2-0. But that's pretty much the worst playoff exit I've ever seen. I couldn't sleep after the Deadmarsh goal that finished the deal. The worst part about playoff exits is that they happen at night so you have to go to sleep right afterwards, and that one seriously kept me up half the night.

Not saying that doesn't happen. What I mean is, there aren't big corporations buying up blocks of tickets to give to their clients or partners, etc. Given the Wings' ticket prices, I doubt the Joe would sell out every game either without discounts like that, if they didn't have corporate support.

K, I realize you're new, but you just spent a ton of time and effort saying things which get said more or less ad nauseum. I've argued against everything you say a hundred times already, and forgive me if you haven't seen them before but I'm awfully tired of saying it. So I'll just bring up these questions: 1) What about New Jersey? 2) How is 15,862 in a 17,000 arena a bad thing, especially when playing one of the crummiest, least interesting teams in the league? On a Monday night, no less. And bonus question number 3, You realize that the main problem in Nashville is that there isn't any corporate support of that type, right? So in light of that, wouldn't you say it's impressive that Nashville has these kinds of numbers without the corporate support enjoyed by other teams in the league?

Touchy, aren't we? I wasn't even talking to you and you got something to say. Congratulations on your crusade for the right of people everywhere to make bad jokes and derogatory statements about a large group of people. Bet that's winning you a lot of followers

Got my wish! NC State beat Duke just now, so it'll be UVA vs. NC State tomorrow. Rough day so far for the higher seeds in the ACC tournament, as Clemson and Maryland have also taken nosedives. Now let's hope tomorrow is not a case of "be careful what you wish for"!

What was it, Free Pizza And Beer Night on the People Mover? I don't think I've ever seen overcrowding on that train. Sometimes it's reasonably full but more often than not you'll get on and a tumbleweed will roll out.

OIC. I was thinking more along the lines of scouting gurus in general.....since Chadd was the guy that revived the Tigers' horrible scouting program. Miller kind of fell into our lap, but without Chadd we don't bother drafting Maybin.
-
Well.....Scott Parker will be unstoppable anyway. His skating is fairly questionable and it's a good thing there are boards because his idea of stopping and turning around usually involves them
-
Yeah.....Horn could learn a lot from Johnson about how a professional conducts himself.

I kind of want Colorado to miss the playoffs. Just to laugh at them. Still hate them, is why. It'd be more fun of course to eliminate them ourselves, but if we can't, I don't want them in at all.

Nah, Andersson = David Chadd. Avila = Nill.
-
OK, so, we hold that against Nashville because.........??

But the Falcons have signed Joe Horn.....so you have to wonder now if they covet a WR (Johnson) as badly as they did before.
-
Michigan is gonna get smoked OSU didn't have anything on the line during the game recently and played like it until the end - at some point they must have collectively decided, "Hey, this is no fun.....let's try giving a damn."

Monroe is 30.

If that doesn't kindle up a good rivalry with all kinds of hatred for the Wings by Preds fans, nothing will
-
Lebda?? Lebda's playing right about at his potential right now. Granderson's more like Hudler. Could be a star but needs to work on a big part of his game. Hudler needs to play better defense, Granderson needs to not strike out so much.

When TSN gets to award the Stanley Cup, I'll worry. 'Til then, who cares?

Right, and stormtiger made an extremely unfunny and classless joke regarding the Nashville fanbase. Which means that all of us Wings fans are not funny and think Preds fans are toothless rednecks, right?
