Good, I was running out of good reasons to hate the Avs besides "they're there." And Granato hasn't been fired yet? Good to know Lizzie Lacroix is still doing things the classy way.

I didn't even realize how close that came til I saw the replay on ESPN. Never even saw it happen. Really scary stuff. They slo-mo'd it too, which means you get three times as long to watch a skate fly towards someone's jugular vein, which is not good for the nerves.

Played some stellar defense, too I was a little annoyed at that. I was thinking, dammit Khabi, you're supposed to be an overrated bum. Stop acting like a good goalie. But then he let in the Sammy goal and all was right with the world. I think most goalies would have snagged that one.

Not to mention effective. And big. It'd be the kind of blue-line size we've been trying and failing to get for years. And Christ on a bucket do we need Lilja back on the PK. Sorriest PKing I've ever seen from the Wings.

It could be worse. The thread title could be: "NBC is bias against the Wings." I mean, I hate my own self just for typing that.

Then again, it's also silly that so many people take this stuff so seriously. This thread proves that a lot of people need to recalibrate their sarcasmeters - up til this post I haven't strung together two non-sarcastic sentences in the whole thread. I mean, are people that desperately in need of validation for the Wings, and at the same time so addicted to the hockey coverage, that it upsets them that greatly that Crosby is on during the intermission? I don't even watch during the intermission whether they're talking about the Wings, Crosby, or Santa Claus. What part of the intermission has ever been worth watching except for maybe 60 seconds of previous-period highlights? Get up and grab a beer or something.

THEY PLAYED REALLY WELL IN STRETCHES BUT I THINK THEY WERE VERY INCONSISTENT TOO AND THEY CLEARLY DON'T HAVE THE DEPTH TO MAKE UP FOR A DISAPPEARING ACT BY THEIR TOP LINE

Amazingly, I've been really calm and not at all worked up about this series. Crazy nervous before the Anaheim series, but not this one.

Do you think if I started an "NBC is biased" thread during the Pens game tomorrow, complaining that they hate the Wings because they keep showing Sidney Crosby on the ice, people would jump on the bait? Perhaps a poll.... "NBC is showing Sidney Crosby skating around and scoring goals and not talking about the Wings. I must have been watching a different second period than the rest of you guys because I didn't see anything resembling dominance. I saw a lot of ugly play in our end and still too many giveaways as we cross into the Chicago zone. It's really too even a game for my tastes - we need to be better at getting control deep in our zone and better at maintaining control at the beginning of the attack.

Not a great first period if you ask me, but better as it went on.

Wonder how long it'll take before..........
