I put other. I'll be tremendously, tremendously disappointed to watch the Wings exit the playoffs and know I'll have to wait til next year for the next Cup run....and meantime, watch some other team celebrate. At the outset of every playoff series, I expect the Wings to win the series. But....lemme put it like this... Every year, I expect the Wings to win the Cup, but I don't expect them to win the Cup every year, Make sense? Means, if I can still explain it in few enough words, that going into each year and going into each playoffs and each playoff series, I expect the Wings to win it all. But big picture, I realize it's unrealistic to expect them to win the Cup year in and year out. Besides, I don't want to. What makes winning special if you win every damn year? The best I can ask for, long term, is that they make the playoffs most years, and usually be legit contenders for the Cup. They already give us more than that.

Ridiculous. You don't win multiple Norris Trophies by being a sissy. Ridiculous.

Only the Pistons can get away with playing well below their usual level for three out of four quarters and still have the game not be in doubt.

well, as it turns out..... Shoeless Joe Jackson, Eddie Cicotte, Buck Weaver, Chick Gandil, Happy Felsch, Swede Risberg, Lefty Williams, and Fred McMullin.

Anyone else watching the Pistons and Lakers on ESPN? I'd criticize the way these guys are calling the game....if they were actually calling the game Seems to me ESPN decided to have a basketball talk show in which various issues facing the Lakers are discussed at length, and the perfect setting was the Palace during a basketball game. They've been talking about Kwame Brown for five full possessions and totally ignoring the action on the court.

Yeah the chick in the pink is definitely stalkable, I guarantee the one in the black is stuck up though! stalkable? wow, i'm flattered... i think and for the record, holly is probably the most honest and geniune friend i have. easily the most beautiful and "knows" it the least. look up stuck up in the thesaurus - her name shows up as an antonym! "Stalkable" definitely qualifies as a compliment. It's a pretty high one. It's a guy's way of saying, "Not only are you beautiful/cute enough to spend time with (or at least, looking at), you're worth the effort it takes to follow and try not get to caught, and even worth the risk of a criminal record." As a single guy ( ) I can not see myself using it to describe any potential dating partner/romantic interest/possible future wife.....usually it's used to describe a guy's impressions of a buddy's girlfriend to said buddy, or another buddy. there.....that's your free insight into guy talk for today.

When someone falls cartoon-style (and isn't hurt) it is hilarious. Ever seen someone slip on a banana peel? 7th or 8th grade, I'm eating my lunch in the cafeteria-gymnasium with amigos, and a kid in a younger grade comes out of the lunch line. There is a door to walk through, the lunch line being in a room off to the side. Banana peel just outside the doorway. One foot in the air, entire lunch tray flying in a graceful arc in the backwards direction. Resounding THUD-SMASH throughout the very echo-ey gymnasium. Laughter abounds. Straight outta Bugs Bunny. Nothing was hurt, except probably the kid's ego.

Lions are in talks with Mike Martz to become the offensive coordinator. Martz could have the job by Monday....apparently, the decision is up to him. I'm torn here. A little leery of the idea. On the one hand, I think it'd be the end of the famous five-yard pass on third-and-8. Might even see less third-and-8's. On the other hand, Martz isn't really the offensive genius he's often made out to be - Dick Vermeil took the Rams to the Super Bowl, not Martz. Mariucci was supposed to be an offensive genius, too. And does anyone think the Lions are the no-stress job Martz ought to have given his heart problems?

errands time before the UVA-Duke game at 7.

Chauncey can make a strong case for MVP just by pointing to the win column. But I honestly have to give it to Kobe right now....the Lakers wouldn't have 15 wins without him, the rest of that team is garbage.

36-5 at the halfway point of the season. that of course projects out to a 72-10 finish. new definition of futility: being the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference this year. currently that's the 19-22 Wizards....the Wizards are a donut team - big hole in the middle. Tayshaun and Sheed would abuse them inside to the tune of about 25 points per game each.

Billy Volek still has a few years left on his contract...however with the emergence of Vince Young that could play right into our hands. If New Orleans takes Leinart as expected, that will leave Tennessee in a position where they have to decide if Volek is really their future. My guess is they cant pass on Young and they'll end up dealing Volek right on draft day to the Lions. Since theyll be forced to deal him i dont think it would cost us more than probably a mid round pick...probably our 3rd rounder. So instead of drafting a QB we take a chance with Volek who could be ready to start right now...I'd have no problem with that. Of course this would all hinge on what happens with Vince Young.. Lions need to overhaul this damn O-line...cause its pathetic. Draft the best available tackle! And sign a DE, Hall and Redding is a sh!tty duo. Imagine what we could do with a real pass rusher to compliment Rogers. Unfortunately, after Ferguson, the first-round cupboard is bare when it comes to O-linemen. If the Lions traded up to get Ferguson, I'd have no problems with that. Our DE's are fine....c'mon, Hall gets his fair share of sacks.....but I still wouldn't mind seeing Kiwanuka fall into our lap. We could draft a Williams in the first round for the third year in a row. Jimmy Williams would look good opposite Dre' Bly. Problem is he's a Hokie and a selfish, immature one at that.

where have you gone, my Rosealia?

'nother big trade in the NBA: T'wolves trade Szczerbiak and 'Kandi Man to Boston for Ricky Davis, Mark Blount, Delonte West.....umm.....well mostly they get a bunch of junk back from Boston. NOT a good trade for Minnesota. Lottery or bust for the next few years must be their goal.

Now things are making sense NN! I once wrote an essay about my "vast pool of useless knowledge." If it's meaningless trivia odds are it's the type of information that'll stick in my head. peace quiz bowler? sweet...I did that my senior year of high school (when I was finally able to devote some time to it and didn't have to swim in the spring). still got my 3rd-in-the-state trophy that, and we were the first, and so far the only team, to upset the all-star lineup of teachers in the annual battle.

GO BLUE! poor State....all they've got to hold over Michigan is basketball....and until the next game at Breslin, they don't even have that....
