Funny quotes from the writeup: Great, lots of character. How 'bout you win in a fashion that shows some talent now? Any victory for this bunch is amazing. Don't forget the fans. Yeah, a one-point victory against the sorriest franchise in the league, the New Jersey/San Antonio/Baton Rouge/Anywhere But The Superdome Saints ('Aints for a good reason), where the offense manages two field goals and zero touchdowns....that should really keep the fans happy.

interestingly I have studied both French and Japanese. I remember my French a lot better, but Japanese was more fun. nihongo wo hanashimasu ka? No fair, I wanna learn Japanese lol. All I know is what I picked up from anime. Oyasumi nasai (did I spell that right?) no the first thing they taught us was how to write. the second thing they taught us was we are not allowed to use English lettering. but I don't know how to make that work on the computer. so yes. close enough, except it's all one word.

KOL-a-sow, then? What about his first name? That's the tricky one. I've heard some people say it's just Sergei like Sergei Fedorov, is that right?

I don't think the bench is that bad. I just don't think Flip trusts them as much as he could. Mo Evans is solid, of course, as is Dice. Lindsey Hunter is about to come back from his foot injury and he can always be counted on for solid minutes. Delfino is really start to pick it up. And Dale Davis is this year's Elden Campbell. Need some good hard defense without worrying about the fouls, Davis will be great off the bench for that. No, I think the bench is fine, and really, there isn't a starting five that can touch the Pistons'. Pistons haven't often been forced to play four full quarters, but they've been in some dogfights. They beat Portland the other night despite playing their fourth game in five nights. And don't underestimate the focus of that team. They really are playing with a purpose. Pity the poor eighth-seed in the East....the Pistons will be locked on and there's no way the Pistons' first opponent will come within 20 points in any of four games.

Maybe. There's no way to count on anyone who is that young as a definite future Wing.

Kolasau starting to move the mountains

He's still up against teenagers. Easy to look tough at 6'4" against 17-year-olds. The hitting helps, though. But...get a 6'4", 187 lb. guy on the NHL ice and he'll be awfully skinny-looking. He's still young though. Got lots of time to fill out his frame. How do you pronounce his name?

Until the Saints have their own fans marching in protest, they won't be as bad as the Lions. Just means Lions fans are more passionate about their team. That and we're not scattered over four states these days.

This is the Lions last chance to get a win. As bad as the Lions are, the Saints might be worse. They're just as dysfunctional. I still want to see Dan Orlovsky out there.

Kolasau starting to move the mountains

Hopefully he's still got bulking up to do. Got lots of time to do it. 187 pounds is a little skinny for a 6'4" hockey player. Wouldn't want to impede his skating too much, but he ought to be north of 200. Otherwise his ability to plaster other 17-year-olds isn't going to translate over to the bigs.

yyyyyyyeah, basketball is not TSN's strong suit. the Raptors are the only team in Canada anyway and they are pretty pathetic.

In which Darko would see that his lack of effort would cost his team games if he keeps it up. I only suggest this because it looks as though the Pistons can afford a throwaway. And I don't think it has to be a throwaway....if Darko replaces Ben for most of the game, it's not like they lose much offense, Chauncey and crew can continue to do their thing. And that's even assuming Darko would be useless on offense, which I don't think he would be.

Love the card. Manny's salary is pretty low, though, we're getting a lot of bang for the buck. Shouldn't cost so much to cast

Disappointed in the complete lack of a response from the Lions' organization. Nobody's coming out to back Millen, which they should do if they intend to keep him - it's no sense trying to "quietly" keep him and hope the fans don't notice. The easiest thing to do would be to issue some little statement saying in effect "we're sorry we suck and we're doing everything in our power to improve", you know, the usual PR bulls***, but they haven't said a peep.

I seen the Saints play a few weeks ago and it was like watching the Lions. Same mistakes, flubs, everything. Still, I think the Saints will win because the Lions will be playing on the road. Todays game? More of the same. Surprised they even have a TD in all this. It's 31-10 in the 3rd and the fans are beginning to chant "Fire Millen". Can't tell how many people are left in FF to watch the game. I don't even know why they're staying. They're either suckers or they got nothing else to do today. Beginning to chant? I'm surprised they didn't start the opening kickoff with a rousing FIRE MILLEN and keep it going for four quarters....or however long it took the stadium to empty.

And coach. A disciplinarian coach. One far-fetched but tantalizing article I saw suggested Bill Parcells. Another more realistic scenario would be Maurice Carthon.

you know what annoys me? that dumb Dockers commercial where there's actually two of them, and the guy and the girl both get off the streetcar, miss the other one, and find each other standing there? i hate their dumb trendy preppy clothes and the porn-flick music, actually, and the fact that I'm forced to watch it over and over. i keep turning this thread into a whine-fest, don't I?
