WCSF GAME 4 GDT: Red Wings 6 at Ducks 3

Commodore never played for Anaheim, yo. I think you're thinking of his days in Calgary. Wrong painful series -

Noticed it as well. It was Homer. A little Mike Commodore action there. -

I don't know about "beautiful" but I will so take it. We're never gonna beat Anaheim pretty. -

OK, we get it. Versus isn't showing the game. Let's keep the bitching about it to a minimum or take it to the chat room please....it doesn't need to be repeated fifty times. -
Eh, MLB is MLB, more or less, whether or not it's the 3-4 or the 4-3. There are differences but a lot fewer than on the outside.
-
No, you still have a lot of karma to burn off Anyway, I like it - best finish for USA since 2004 when we won bronze. I'll take another bronze. Actually I'd like something a little shinier, but Russia and Canada are unstoppable. That should be a fun gold-medal game. Already figuring on playing Sweden for the bronze.

All of the above is true, but it doesn't stop them from sounding silly when they complain about it.

You don't have to "throw an elbow" to get called for elbowing, the same way you don't have to purposely haul off and whack someone to get a high-sticking call: There is no difference between "throwing an elbow" and "hitting someone with your elbow" in the rule book. Also: Not even remotely close to his body. Very definitely "extended." It should have been an elbowing penalty, if the refs had seen it. Why are we sitting here in a thread whining about Ducks fans being homers when we're clearly guilty of it ourselves?
-
How do you hit a guy in the head with your elbow if it's close to your body? Don't be such a homer. He threw an elbow. As with a minor high-sticking call, he probably didn't mean to whack anyone in the head with his elbow, but they usually call it anyway and probably should have there.

Ducks fans biased for the Ducks? Nooooooooo.....
-
Dude, Vladdy is 42.

Obviously there's a little bit of disagreement on what a clean hit entails, even inside your own head.....if a "clean hit" entails leaving your feet to hit a guy in the head, then I don't see where you have a problem with anything Kronwall does.

Whenever announcers and commentators are talking about the Wings' scouting they always mention Datsyuk, 6th round and Zetterberg, 7th round. Even I get tired of hearing it sometimes. A little. Sort of. I have absolutely no doubt that Ericsson is going to be talked about the same way in a couple years.

That's two curses - the curse of having to play you guys in every quarterfinal ever, and the curse of blowing damn near every lead we've had in this tournament. If the games were just two periods we'd be a lock for this s***.

We'll see. 3-2 now.....we're well on our way to Sweden remix.

Original Six teams should break away from NHL and for own league
betterREDthandead replied to NHLrules?'s topic in General
Valuable? Or just the ones you like? The Sharks are 19th; the Sabres are 21st; the Blues, 25th. I think you've just made a list of teams you think "belong" instead of actually choosing "valuable" teams. -

Oops, is this a No-Logic Zone? In that case, in the spirit of Calvinball I decree all No-Logic Zone creators to pay a fine of 1 million points to me. -

This is retarded. In no sport has a dual major league system ever worked out. There's a reason the WHA didn't work out. There's a reason the AFL merged with the NFL and the USFL folded. There's a reason the ABA didn't work. There's a reason the Federal League failed. This has been tried before, many, many times. One league or the other will be perceived as most desirable and will get all the best players and the TV money. The other will fail or merge and then it's right back to the status quo. -
The Great Brett Favre Kerfuffle of 2008
betterREDthandead replied to timothy1997's topic in Other Sports
And so it begins again. I knew it. I knew it'd be foolish to believe this guy when he claims he's retired - for the fifth friggin' time. I used to have respect for Favre. Maybe he was this way all the time, or maybe he's taken a few too many knocks to the head, but this ******* is clearly as big a spoiled prima donna as Chad Johnson and Terrell Owens. Seriously. Go the f*** away. -
I actually wish Game 4 was tonight. I think the Wings have some momentum from the final period. Add the feeling of getting jobbed.....I don't know why but I think the Wings have a Duck beatdown ready for the next game.
-
Merged for similarity. Just a little cleanup. Do carry on.
-
Anybody expecting the ref to come out and speak hasn't been paying attention to hockey, ever. The league never lets them.
-
The only thing I like about Anaheim is that it's 3000 miles away from me. Disney World makes Disneyland look like a county fair.

I mean, I understand the reasoning behind blowing the whistle if you don't see the puck. They need to protect the goalies from getting dogpiled and hacked at, I get that. I just don't understand why there are 11 skaters and three stripes on the ice who know exactly where the puck is and one ******* who doesn't, because he's out of position. It's a cock-s***ty call. It definitely ought to be reviewable or at least reversable. A ref can call a goal and the other one can wave it off because it was kicked, high stick, whatever. It's ridiculous that the same can't happen here. The whistle clearly blew after the goal went in, it's silly that the other ref can't step in and say, look, I saw it all the way, let's check video and see when the whistle actually blew and maybe the goal can stand. In any case, Watson clearly was not doing his job. I better not see him on the ice for any more Wings games this round or at all in the next.

WCSF GAME 3 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Ducks 2

Well.....still should have been a penalty on the elbow. It was a pretty solid one.
