Definitely blind. Or TSN is omitting it. The Vs. replays have it. -

Well, my prediction isn't based on logic. The league offices don't seem to use it, why should I? -

We'd better come back and win this game because I have a nasty feeling we'll have to do the next one without Homer. But I like our odds. Best penalty kill we've had in the whole series right there. -

This isn't physical, it's 100% mental. Our passing is pure s***, it's sloppy, and if the passer doesn't totally fan on it, the recipient just waits for the puck to come to him. Every one of our breakdowns is because of sloppy puck management. -

True that. Just one from those guys will break the ice. Even though we're down I think Anaheim would have to be worried that we have it so close with nothing at all from our biggest guns. A Datsyuk or Zetterberg or Hossa goal could open the floodgates. -

Gimme Franzen, Sammy, and Homer if ZDH is reunited. A Swedish trio. Sammy's looked pretty OK so far, he's had some chances. -

Oh, two games then. K. Point remains. Let's give 'em two more periods before the mashing of the panic button. -

The Wings didn't get to where they are by making panicky changes after one game. -

It's the Ducks that ought to be worried. Series is tied and the Wings have scored seven goals without any offensive contributions from our three best forwards? When, not if, they start scoring, watch out. -
P.S. - I'm a tiny bit peeved that Germany gets to stay up thanks to hosting next year's tournament, and Austria has to go down despite beating them. Austria has the second coolest logo after Sweden. Karma says Germany gets relegated next year in front of the home fans. You did just beat Canada, after all. I can't remember the last time USA made it out of the quarterfinals. Even a fourth-place finish would be better than anything we've done in recent years.

Well, we spent a lot of breath lambasting Hitchcock for complaining about the refs enforcing the rules against his team, despite the inconvenience of it all. So if we agree that what Kronwall does is in fact against the rules, then I sure hope I don't hear a peep of complaint if Kronwall gets called for it at a really bad time. Anyway, I see it like this: it's a bad habit, not anything dirty. He just gets overexcited. I actually wish he wouldn't not only because it's gonna be a penalty sooner or later, but because I think his hits would be way more effective if he went low and threw his hip rather than high with the shoulder.

I wouldn't call it a pretty good game. Ya know why? Here's why. Cause if we'd have won, we'd be second in the group instead of third and then we wouldn't have to face Finland AGAIN. We always draw Finland in the elimination rounds. Not just the last two WC's, but the '06 Olympics too. And we always lose. Here's hoping we stop choking away leads, which we've done copious amounts of this tournament, beat Finland, set ourselves up for another beatdown at the hands of Russia and then a bronze-medal game against Sweden or the CR. That sounds like a best case scenario, anyway. Russia and Canada both look unstoppable, even if Canada didn't exactly win today.

Nothing wrong with the Panger. He speaks as a former goalie who probably had ice sprayed on him all the time.

WCSF GAME 2 GDT: Ducks 4 at Red Wings 3 (3OT)

Man, the difference between the first ten minutes and the second ten minutes of that period were night and day. Couldn't have looked worse in the first half of it. -
f*** Kyle Busch.

No, but it's the best thing an owner can do towards having a good team. Spending money may not = a good team, but not spending money almost definitely = not a good team.

what is your favourite european club

Whichever one sends us the most players. -
His elbow might have an outcome, as the league appears to tolerate its ability to fly randomly around.

If the Big Ten expands, and it can't be Notre Dame, then I think Nebraska should be the far and away #1 choice. Fits geographically and keeps the Big Ten in the Midwest, instead of a sort of quasi Midwest-East Coast mix. Tremendous football history, brings a huge alumni base in, and they're an AAU member so they fit that requirement too.

Once you score the play is instantly over and it changes from interference to just the innocent results of your momentum. Goalies get knocked over all the time like that, only usually not so violently and usually after the play has been blown dead because they covered it up. Had Hiller stopped it the play would still be going on and then I have no doubt they'd have put Franzen in the box.

Therrien, Hitchcock, Carlyle....it's nice to see that the Wings are consistently able to reduce other team's coaches to whiny little nine-year-old girls.
-
Neither are the Timberwolves.

It's the writers that vote, or specifically the Professional Hockey Writers' Association. They vote for almost all the major awards. Datsyuk being a finalist means he's top three in the voting, which itself means that the media has finally caught on to what Datsyuk really means to the Wings. Big for that. The evolution of Pavel's game has really been a treat to watch.

So you tried to go troll and it wouldn't let you? Imagine that.
