Oh yeah. I should've known, because I actually liked "I Want Stanley." I've always thought, the more I like a playoff slogan, the less likely we are to win the Cup, and man we had some dumb ones in '97 and '98, whatever they were. I remember liking "Get your red on," and we all remember what happened then. This year's is cheesier and dumber than ever. I have a good feeling about this.

Bettman's not supposed to care about the team on the ice. He's the commissioner - he's supposed to be neutral. It's his job to worry about the interest and revenue each team generates, because that's what the owners hire him for.

I hope they did. They'd go back telling their team that the only players that aren't garbage are Datsyuk, Z, and Lids. Then they'd get all overconfident and the Wings would have the easiest sweep in history.

Much more doubt this year. In '98 we had the whole Vladdy thing going and I considered it practically a birthright for the Wings to win. The playoffs weren't especially arduous either. We did have the Cup to defend, but I don't think the Wings were a target any more than someone like Dallas or New Jersey, which were also considered just as much the league's elite as the Wings were. A decade later the Wings have had so much success there's a target on their back no matter what happened last year.

How the playoffs normally work as far as the Blue Jackets are concerned: The first shot is called a "tee shot" because you may use a tee to hit the ball off of. This is recommended because you can hit the ball farther. After that are your "approach shots" in which you attempt to place the ball on the green, which is a semi-flat surface of special grass. Once on the green you "putt" the ball and try to get it in the hole. You should take as few shots as possible and always try to avoid sand or water.

Cause it's the Winter Classic jersey, not the "random game in April" jersey. They shouldn't have done that. I don't mind the third jersey as a one-off special event thing, but I don't want to see the Wings wearing a third as a habit.

See, I don't think Dantonio exactly bleeds green either. Maybe I'm just cynical - coaches are always, always looking for the next job as far as I'm concerned, with only a few exceptions, like Coach K or Izzo. You can't really blame them, when they get fired at the drop of a hat, too. But coaches always say they're happy where they are, and always find a reason to leave even if not fired.

I'll take this one in exchange for the one we blew in Toronto earlier in the week. Looks like a solid start to the season so far. Texas is Texas and still isn't real likely for the playoffs, but I've seen enough now that I think the Tigers will be in the hunt all year. Especially if the Tribe suck as bad as they looked this week and we can get 2 of 3 from Chicago next.

Blak: I think you're really underestimating the attraction of Michigan to recruits. I mean, take a look at Darius Morris from CA, a guy that's on all the big lists, had a USC offer and came to Michigan instead. Even when we were terrible we got some pretty good recruits in - I mean, what's the difference between the Michigan that brought in Manny Harris and the Michigan of now, except for a tournament appearance? There will always be tremendous recruits out of Detroit and elsewhere in the state that will listen to Michigan before they listen to Purdue or Wisconsin. And if Beilein leaves for greener pastures, so be it. It means he did a good enough job to be noticed by someone pretty darn important. I'm not swimming in the Kool-Aid like mannysbetter up there in thinking that Beilein is definitely staying for good and ever, but again, if someone bigger and better comes calling, and he takes it, it means we're already doing pretty well and can probably find a damn good replacement.
