It's gotta be Ozzie. Big team effort in front of him is a plus, but what that also means is that nobody has really set themselves well apart to be considered for the Smythe. If I were handing it out right now, Ozzie would get it. However....if Franzen returns and continues the pace from the first two rounds, he'd be the winner instead. So many big goals, game-winning goals....Ozzie now, because Franzen's out. Bring back the Mule we saw in Rounds 1 and 2, and it's his.

I think it's absolutely hilarious how both the Avs and Stars went into their series thinking they had a goaltending advantage....and got crushed. Ozzie outplayed both Theodore and Turco in the stat sheet and in the win column. Now here come the Pens thinking they have a goaltending advantage, and don't get me wrong, M-A Fleury's numbers are brilliant. But so are Ozzie's. Osgood has 88 games of playoff experience, including 8 Finals games - these are his third. Fleury has 19, which is almost his age. So, Pens fans: Colorado had a respectable defense in front of Theodore. Dallas had a respectable defense in front of Turco. And both were considered to have the goaltending advantage. And we see how that turned out. What makes you think Fleury's going to be different, especially figuring with the considerable experience gap?

We have some OK secondary scoring, but it's not consistent. Outside of Franzen, can you really point to anyone we can consistently depend on for a goal when Datsyuk and Zetterberg aren't on the ice? Anyone who the opposition has to focus on to take pressure off of the top line?

The Pens have - BY FAR - the scariest offense we've seen yet. These other teams look like complete schmucks up against what Pittsburgh's got. On the flip side, Pittsburgh has yet to see a team where all five skaters play excellent defense at all times like the Wings do.

Thanks. In return, I gotta say....I was impressed by the fans at the arena, most of them hanging around til the end to salute their team. A lot of arenas would be a tomb but you'd have thought they were handing the CC Bowl to the Stars, as packed as the place still was.

Figured we needed a thread to discuss the World Championships. Started today. USA and Canada are in the same group and play on Tuesday in Halifax. US beat Latvia today and plays Slovenia on Sunday. Also interesting: Hungary qualified for next years Championships, the first time they've played in the IIHF's top division in 70 years, back when there weren't any lower divisions.

hehe.....not much to explain. Wings won that game and the series. Barring a meltdown, knocking on wood, that'll be fully clear in 40 minutes.

Pretty surprised nobody's made an issue of this: Emrick caught it but it wasn't really on screen, Ott spearing McCarty on a line change. Also did anyone see Turco tripping Sammy? Same way he did Flip in Game 1. I can't take anything Turco says about fair play seriously.
