I can't see how the series MVP can be anyone other than Ozzie. Osgood comes in, the Predators stop scoring. Period. One goal in 150 minutes of hockey. (And that on a 6-on-5.) Slam the door, put up the fence, lock the safe. Datsyuk had a GREAT series. The two knocks on him were that he couldn't produce in the playoffs and wasn't physical, and he took care of those. But Ozzie's play was more important.

I'll take all the luck we can get. Who cares? And yes, Lidstrom's goal was pure, unadulterated, 100% luck. You'd have to have a red blindfold over top of your red goggles to claim otherwise. That's why they tell you "put it on net, you never know what might happen."

That line of thinking doesn't make much sense - if the Sharks are the team you fear most, wouldn't you rather have them out altogether?

He made the steal that led to Franzen's goal. Outskated the Nashville puck-carrier and poked it to Kronwall. Hasn't been Flip's greatest series but he's too talented and works too hard to be taken out.

But after listening to him talk about how Nashville had really come out hitting and Detroit was doing OK but Nashville's really cranked it up! and it sure looked like the other way round to me, I'm starting to see this.

I'm a little bit of a Flip slappy so it's nice to see that he's getting recognition - as he should - for creating the play that led to the GWG. I've said he's good for a flat-out-hustle goal at least once a series - that was it right there.

I don't even think Draper knew he had a trailer. Never looked in that direction (why would he? it's backwards.) Maybe he is that good or maybe he isn't but he's the first star of this game so far, IMO. Same story. Every year I watch the Wings get embroiled in these 1-0 thrillers, and they always show highlights of other teams scoring goals with the greatest of ease because the goalies are human and play like it. Seven goals have been scored in the Rags-Devils game, and that's supposed to be Marty Brodeur in net.

Pistons in 5. I don't see any sweep coming up here. I don't think the Pistons are quite talented enough or focused enough to sweep anyone.

Exactly what I was thinking. The Lions always get hosed by the schedule makers by having Green Bay at home early and in Lambeau when it's -40 out. Every friggin year. What he said. This game lends itself to not needing timeouts anyway. In basketball, you substitute way less often and it's never whole units, so you call a timeout when you want to discuss something with the people on the floor. In hockey, you want to discuss something with a particular unit, wait 30 seconds and the shift will be over.
