I disagree with the "both" part. The Wings look good everywhere but inside the Avs' zone. Colorado's been nearly flawless with their positioning so far on defense. But they can't get a rush going either.

Yes, the reason our guys, Datsyuk and Zetterberg, haven't been picked to start for the Eastern Conference ahead of Crosby is East Coast bias. For some reason Eastern voters refused to put Western Conference players on their team. And if Crosby doesn't impress you, then you'll never be impressed. Name someone else who scored 120 points and won the Art Ross as a teenager. Yeah, it's because he's Canadian that he gets attention

Old and broken down??? Are you a Wings fan or are you a Wings fan? You oughta know better than any other fan in the league that old does not mean useless. Sundin's 37. So what? In case you haven't noticed, Sundin has 48 points, good for 12th in the league and better than everyone on our team but you-know-which-two. And he hasn't missed a single game this year. Rental? Maybe. Old and broken down? Ha.

Ordinarily I agree that it's usually good practice to show confidence in your starter, because goalie confidence can be pretty fragile. But these are two veteran goalies that have been too successful for too long to lose confidence. If splitting time were a problem for them, they'd be showing it by now. The Wings are leading the league by a long, long shot with a goalie tandem that nobody can beat. When things are working, you don't change them up.

Why fix what ain't broke? If the tandem is working this well come playoffs time (assuming we make it) then why not stick with it? I don't think there'd be anything wrong with it. You don't sit a hot goalie. I'd hate to let one go cold on the bench and have the other get hurt.

I can't believe there are people who actually think we need more of that in hockey. Probably the same people who would give you a love tap with the bumper if you didn't go fast enough when the light turned green.

Maybe he doesn't just love the Leafs, he loves being on the Leafs. Maybe he feels like Ray Bourque cheapened himself by accepting a trade to a random team just to win a Cup. Maybe he feels like a championship wouldn't mean as much to him if he wasn't a Leaf when he won it. If Sundin wants to retire a Leaf after a long Maple Leaf career, good on him. I don't see why Yzerman should be applauded for wanting to retire a Wing but Sundin would be criticized for doing essentially the same thing. And we Wings fans shouldn't feel snubbed or insulted if Sundin doesn't want to leave Toronto.

There is not one single can't-miss prospect in the system. I know what potential is there, but up and down the list there is absolutely nobody you can look at and guarantee will be an everyday player in the NHL. Closest we have is Howard, who I expect is good enough to be at least a backup, but you never know. Therefore I expect it will probably take a player off the roster to get Sundin. This Emmerton-Pyett-Helm stuff won't cut it and we can stop pretending it will. As long as we don't give up Flip, I would just drool to have Sundin in the Winged Wheel.

If Smith was the best player available, I think that's what you have to do. Drafting for need is usually a loser way to go unless that need player can help you immediately (rare in hockey.) Better to stockpile talent and trade for what you need. Besides, Kindl appears to be having a rotten year so far. -17 so far, far and away the worst on the Griffins, and he's not really scoring either. Obviously you hope that's just the usual difficulties adjusting to the pro game, but it's not a good sign.

Totally disagree with this one. It makes the defense play defense instead of just randomly slinging it down the ice hoping for the empty-netter. Get rid of icing with the empty net and that would be the end of that tactic - no dramatic late-game comebacks. And it would have the domino effect of making teams sit on one-goal leads longer, since they wouldn't have to worry if the other team pulls the goalie. I promise, you'll like the rule better when the Wings have to pull their goalie instead.

Dom's early-season slump is officially history. He's the biggest reason the Wings won. Not quite as dominating a performance as the last game, I think. Dallas was better both offensively and defensively than they were on Wednesday. And it didn't even matter.
