No sweat dude, and thanks!
-
Huh? I was refering to the HC3033 and Shanny14 and was trying to bring some levity into this thread....
-
Ok ladies...so who is the hottest Wing?
-
There's a dot on your keyboard, it's called a period....press it every once in awhile
-
He died in 97 or 98, after the Wings won the cup
-
My issue with Allison is his lack of wheels and his injury issues, but his size and skill are fine. I'd rather trade him for Lang
-
I thought that for players over a certain age (35?) that bonuses didn't count against the cap....I could be wrong
-
But the bonuses don't count against the cap, correct?
-
You're right, forgot about that....
-
Allison is 2.5mm cheaper, so if he's the same player as Lang, shouldn't we acquire Allison because it's cost effective? I'd rather go after a physical forward and a punishing defenseman to make up for Fischer....I know that comes as a shock to a lot of you
-
But Allison at least can score, Lilja doesn't seem to score on the ice...or off the ice (Unless he's with a few teammates )
-
People are going to have heart attacks because you did the unthinkable....bring up trading a Red Wing player. Having said that, I think it's an interesting deal, my problem with Allison is that he has some injury baggage and his skating is suspect. But I can be convinced otherwise, it'd be the type of trade that would take balls, and Holland is not known for unloading players that have been around for the glory years.
-
By the way, Eklund still insisting on his chat boards that Detroit is trying to deal Legace
-
But my point was Lang was signed for the next few years, and unless he gets traded, he ain't going anywhere. I hear your points, and they're obviously legit, but I think that if he can fetch us something now that we need, given all the prospects that are as talented, he needs top 2 ice time and he won't get it here. He's shown he is great in the AHL, but that's with big linemates, he has yet to show he can be effective in the NHL for a sustainable period.
-
All are centers except Grigorenko, but all are under contract (except Grigorenko, who will cost a lot to bring over) and there's not enough ice time to go around. Again, I ask you, what do you do? Play Hudler on the 3rd line as a winger? Filipula will be here next season, he's not long for Grand Rapids....and let's move Hudler to the grind line again, not enough ice time available for a guy like Hudler, why not explore a trade?
-
Where's Hudler going to play? You have Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Filipula, Grigorenko, Lang....so who do you get rid of to make room? He's never going to get a long look here, he's too inconsistent and he's small. There's too many prospects here and not enough ice time or money to go around. Trade him while his value is high, he is NOT the future
-
No, he isn't...but that'll probably be the market for him. Think of it like this...with Filippula coming into his own (Babcock seems to favor him), Legace all but gone, and Meech more than likely never going to be a regular Red Wing, why not? Because he's not worth it. Why waste these guys (Legace and Hudler mainly) on Witt? peace Those guys are expendible, who do you propose we trade for?
-

Another reason Hudler is expendible
-
I don't think a pick alone will do it. I can see Toronto shipping either Stajan, Wellwood or possibly Colaiacovo and a pick to Washington for Witt if need be. That's why Hudler, Legace and possibly Derek Meech should do it....we can ask for Witt and a pick
-
If Legace and Hudler were offered for Witt, McPhee would do that in a second. I'd also get a draft pick out of them.
-
They don't print false reports because they don't print any reports....they're lame. My point Heaton is that if it were true, reading a Detroit paper would be the last place you'd see it.
-
You mean the Detroit media hasn't picked up on this story? What a shock!
-
Devils? Langenbrunner/Sean Brown or Colin White anyone?
-
The point is....trading Legace is not as far fetched as a lot of you thought it was. It makes a ton of sense-Howard's play, Osgood is cheaper and has started, Legace being 34 yrs old and never a starter but is making the most money, Legace being a hot commodity etc...not to mention his comments during the lockout did not endear him to ownership.
