I think Holland is putting off some smokescreens..
-
I'm indifferent believe it or not....he's gritty, but I hate his game, he's what you guys think of Tucker. I'd rather they look elsewhere.
-
Tucker or Avery drop the gloves at least...
-
Hmm, not bad, but I think any signing from europe has to clear waivers...

Spectors is reporting that Detroit is one of the teams interested in acquiring Doug Weight, no idea how they could fit that under the cap, but that'd be a great acquisition. Thoughts?

You're a classy guy ....what an asset to the forum thanks, that means a lot coming from you and your greatness You're welcome...if you don't like a subject of a thread, don't read it. We don't want to resort to telling your parents the kind of language you use here, do we?

I'm sure that is what the Panthers wanted...no BS there. Now if Eklund said it was going to happen? Well, he's full of doggy doo do

"As for the Wings, expect them to make a deal for a defenseman. It'll be a low-priced, veteran, stay-at-home guy, in the mold of a Bob Rouse, Jamie Macoun, Jiri Slegr. With Kronwall back, they feel they have enough offensive-minded, puck-moving defensemen. They could use someone with size and abrasiveness. The problem is, a lot of teams are looking for those kind of players at the deadline. And the Wings aren't prepared to give up much. Jamie Rivers, who hasn't played since Dec. 23., is available. But they won't part with any regular from their lineup and it's doubtful they would relinquish a high draft pick." My answers: Craig Rivet Sheldon Souray Rusan Salei Matt Walker Brendan Witt Cale Hulse Luke Richardson Thoughts?
-
You may be right, but there's a lot of defensemen available right now so the market may not be too expensive for a Salei

You guys are funny...Sundin sucks? Why? Because he doesn't play for Detroit? I have no doubt Detroit would be interested in Sundin, he performs in the playoffs and has the size this team needs down the center. However, I'm sure the convo didn't get too far when Toronto mentioned Zetts or Datsyuk. The guys is 35 yrs old, he's not that old, and he's big and swedish which means he'd fit in here perfectly. Lang and Williams for Sundin? In a heartbeat, but Zetterberg and perhaps Dastyk are the only untouchables.
-
There is no reason for Detroit to not pursue Tkachuk, none. He came to camp fat and out of shape and on a weak team has been dominate. Imagine him with Zetterberg or Datsyuk, if that means waving goodbye to Williams or Lang, I'll give them a ride to the airport for free.

I was watching the game the other night on B2 and Kaser(the Griffs radio annoncer) was talking about the amount of Nhl scouts who were in attendance to watch the Griffins play. Maybe they're just Griffin fans....
-
Of course it'd be nice, but maybe they can't because they heard from a reliable source and don't want to compromise it. Not as ridiculous as an Eklund rumor and gives us something to discuss besides what a waste the Olympics have been
-
Hatch, My GR Insider ....where'd you hear about the scouts? Hudler wasn't too impressive in that game. Thanks
-
C'mon FF24, I don't think this trade is out of the realm of possibility. Detroit has a stable of talent that may not be utilized because of the logjam of players with the parent club, guys like Hudler are expendible and guys like Salei are expendable to cut salary and because he's a ufa next year I believe.
-
Where'd you hear this? I hope it's not Bootland though
-
I'm all for keeping Bootland. But he may never get a fair shot here in Detroit unfortunately.
-
Daniel- Nice thread, I'd take Staios, but I doubt Edmonton would trade him to a conference rival. Sutton intrigues me also, he's a hard hitter and plays with an edge.

That's cool Barnes, I will just wait to the offseason then and see what happens. Bois started this year off poorly by loosing fights and not scoring, but he has picked up his play lately by putting the puck in the net and going five fights undefeated that include Reich and Sugden and also a KO. Thanks for that info, I didn't know that. Yeah, should be an interesting off season. I really hope Bootland stays, but if he feels he has no chance here, his first choice would be with the Binghamton Sens I'm sure.
-
Neil- I liked Bois when he played for London, he was a Bootland type of player, but while Bootland has worked on his scoring and gotten stronger, Bois hasn't been too impressive and has gotten his ass handed to him a few times. Don't worry, you may be able to get Bootland for nothing though, the Sens AHL coach, Dave Cameron, coached Bootland in juniors and the two are close. Rumor was he wanted to sign there this offseason, as 04/05 had him and Ireland not seeing eye to eye. Things may have changed now, but I still can't see Holland giving him a good look and may let him walk this offseason.

Most of those guys could be had for late picks or a Mowers type. They are just salary dumps for most of those teams.
-
I do generally, but if he's a rent-a-player I'm all for it. Especially if it means Woolley hits the road. I think there is much better out there, but I won't cry if Carney is who we end up with
-
No way! Bootland is the only physical presence in the organization. Ottawa player- Vaclav Varada. Detroit player- Darryl Bootland. No way bro....Bootland for Neil? We'll talk
