Lapointe is on track to score over 20 goals, he's not a waste, compare that to Maltby. Simpson is less money that Lilja, and more physical, Cullimore is a waste. Salei or Carney would be ok, not my first pick though

Valenti and Foster are dopes...Andy Reid was an Offensive Lineman coach for Green Bay before he was named as HC of Philly. That hasn't worked out too bad for them. Conversely, Morningweig (sp) was an OC for San Fran, and that didn't work out too well. It is a risk, but that's why I'm dying to see who he brings in as his assistants.

He's a two way. You mentioned though that he's somewhat similar to Williams in that he's a scoring line player and not well suited for 4th line duty, right? Is McDonell the chippy one or does Don have any sort of physical presence to him? Lots of random questions, but I know you know the guy (more than anyone else would). Any NHL upside or has that passed him by? peace McDonell is the chippy one

How much longer is your obsession going to last? You follow me from board to board to point out where Barnes is playing, why so bitter? Did Ryan Barnes steal your girlfriend? It's not our fault you couldn't get a date to the senior prom, it's not our fault you failed your GED. I haven't mentioned Barnes at all this year, he is gone, I've moved on, sorry you haven't. If you don't like what I have to say, hit Ignore, if you want to continue these pointless posts, send me a PM instead, simple. Stop polluting threads here and on the other board where you go by "Ruh-Oh". I'm done responding to your stupid posts, I hope you do the same for the sake of everyone on this board.

Hi Troll...nice to see you again....anything to add? Didn't think so. By the way, stop obsessing over me so much, get a girlfriend or something Now I'll address your pointless thread: Fact: Ryan Jorde is(was) a physical defenseman, one of the toughest in the AHL, the Griffs didn't sign him for his offensive abilities. FACT:While he was here, he wasn't at all physical, so he was cut, because he wasn't signed for his offensive abilities. One last fact, the Griffs had signed him because they were upset at teams running their goalies. Got it troll?

Explain why Witt is junk?

Zombo, I'd trade Lang for Doan, don't know if I could trade anyone else. I'd be open to trading Datsyuk, but not for Doan, that's too much pain.
-
It'd be hard to trade Datsyuk, but Zetterberg is just so much better. Offense, defense and even driving to the net, Zetterberg has Dastyuk beat. Datsyuk leaves a lot to be desired defensively, so of the two I'd trade Datsyuk..

Yes! In TC, the coaching staff were surprised at his agility, and how well he skated. They didn't have any room on defense, because of his size they tried him out at wing. He played well, his flexibility is what'll keep him on the team going forward.

Bootland has had 14 fights this year he has a record of 9-1-4. His only loss has come from Brandon Sudgen and he shouldn't really have been fighting him anyway if the Griffins had a true heavy at the time. He has an impressive card this year aswell. Doug Murray- Win Garth Murray- Draw Brandon Prust- Win Cam Severson-Draw Cam Cunning- Draw Clayton Stoner- Win Ole-Kristian Tollefsen- Win Brandon Sugden- Loss Jean-Francois Jacques- Win Jimmy Roy-Win Johnathan Aitken x2 Win-Win Brad Staubitz- Draw Jean-Philippe Cote- Win I too am looking forward to the new breed of enforcer who can play, hopefully Robin BigSnake is the Wings enforcer that can play. Plus he wanted to go with Billy Tibbetts who's a big boy in the Chicago game. FRrom what I heard, Tibbetts wanted no part of him.
-
He's legit, he's strong and will fight anyone. How refreshing, plus he can actually play without making an ass outta himself.

Mowers/Mid draft pick for Witt and Pettinger. Franzen is just too valuable right now. Both he and Franzen should make Draper and Maltby (Especially) more expendible with their high salaries.

What prospects will make the Wings Next year?
Barnes52 replied to ufcredwingfan's topic in Prospects
He has made progress with hi skating. He came to camp in the best shape of his life, he's been playing the power play, penalty kill and seeing a ton of ice time. -
I like your thinking, but I have my doubts...we'll see
-
Kolosov is a great prospect, but still very, very raw....I doubt he's around next year. I like your idea for both, but Holland won't get rid of Rivers or Woolley, so we'll be lucky if he gets one.

I hope you're right Hatch. But if the Wings sign all their UFA's, sans Mowers, that's still the same team as last year, no more room for any prospects. This is why, unless they win the Cup, they have to cut ties with a lot of guys, the only one worth re-signing to me is Sammy and Shanny -

It's a joke that Bootland won't get a look. Although I'd like to see both guys, Bootland plays a bigger physical role and can back it up. It's a shame if Bootland gets the shaft, he's a future power forward, or the closest one we have, it would say that character guys need not apply here, and that the team will only focus on stats. Very sad indeed. If Detroit doesn't win a Cup this year, they'll need to re-think their style of play and strategy, this means I wouldn't be re-signing any guys except Samuellson, Hudler is done here (not a Babcock guy) and Williams doesn't deserve the big cash he may command. This team will need tougher, griteir players, that means they'll need guys like Bootland. I will guarantee you this.....Kopecky will not be a power forward once he gets to the NHL, he has Bootland and guys like Amadio, and now Brett Angel fighting his battles. Not once have I ever seen Kopecky back up his new found "grittiness" and on a team with no toughness, he'll learn he'll have to fend for himself. -
Rumor from SLAM has the Canadiens creating a market for Komisarek, and that Detroit may indeed be interested. Nice catch Gobias
-
Angel is actually a good skater for his size, they were surprised how agile he was. They loathed cutting him, but Detroit sent them a bunch of defensemen, so it was a numbers game. He should be replacing Meech, who should be cut, he's awful, he doesn't deserve a chance in the AHL. Jorde was slow, and wasn't much physically, which was what was needed for him to stick around there. Angel has a shot. Travis Richards is done, Meech sucks, and Clay Wilson is an extra forward, he doesn't know what defense is. Keep in mind that Angel can also play wing...so he might just stick around

No Bootland? -
That's about right, but remember if you can trade Mowers or some other guy, that's money off the books, so I look at that number as extra padding in case who we acquire has a contract worth more than who we trade...if that makes sense
-
If I understand correctly, management can replace Fischer if he's out (injured) but would need to get back at or under the cap if Fsicher ever comes back. Who knows?
-
Very astute of you. Biron isn't any better than Osgood. We have zero need for Numminen. That 2nd and Hudler are far more valuable than the return from Buffalo. peace Exactly right! If you're going to trade Hudler, you can do better than that

Don't know if I can...but feel free to call me that
