Doesn't he have to clear waivers though?
-
Oh please no....this is not what we need. But he'd have to clear waivers first, and someone would grab him, but you never know
-
Grigs is going to be great, and I like the fact that he's a bit gritty, but I'd rather leave the "dirty work" to guys like Bootland
-
Larry Santos was the one who sang "Red Wings, my Red Wings". Don't ask me how I remember that

Sad sacks like Columbus, Chicago and St Louis are imploding, Chicago got their asses handed to them tonight by Edmonton. I'm thinking that a fire sale will happen in the next month or so, and because Kenny Holland reads this board every day, I thought I'd help him get started on his wish list Chicago Mark Bell Jim Vandermeer St Louis Barret Jackman Matt Walker Columbus Adam Foote These are the guys who could(will) become available when the selling begins....thoughts?
-
If Chicago continues to crap all over themselves, I say let's make an attempt to acquire Mark Bell, he's a FA after this year, and I think Chicago is having money issues with the Bullin contract. He's worth a pick and a prospect, no?
-
I give credit to Kopecky, he has stepped up his game, but when things get ugly they all turn to Bootland to step up..physically speaking wise that is
-
I noticed that and have no idea how they come up with their rankings. It must come from Ken Holland, that's the only way you can explain why they rank Bootland 17th even though he's scoring, playing on the penalty kill and their sole physical presence (Outside of Amadio). It's sad to think that if Bootland sewed his gloves on, and didn't draw any penalties or more importantly, stick up for his teammates, he'd probably be higher ranked
-
General manager Ken Holland likely won't have much salary cap space available before the March 9 trading deadline, but he will look to acquire a low-priced veteran defenseman and possibly a decent-sized winger. From Mlive, the second paragraph quotes him as saying if they're to look anywhere it'd be on defense. But it sounds like he's open to another winger. They seem pretty thin at RW, and they're stacked at center.....
-
He's not being dumped because he's not doing well, Chicago would trade anyone to shake things up. Lapointe has actually played well. He's just always getting paid big money because people feel he's on the cusp of being a dominate power forward, along the lines of a Shanny, which he'll never be
-
Move Weight to wing perhaps? They do want to acquire a physical winger
-
Because teams covet him. He hasn't been traded, he's been signed as a free agent. I'm not in love with the guy, but he has thrown his weight around and played decent on a crappy team this year.

Comes from Seattle. It's a joke the way they act like they care about Detroit teams. The best part is when a Detroit team plays a Seattle team, you can watch them twice, one time with a bias towards Detroit and later with a bias towards Seattle. I have no idea why they can't produce a show here, they have some local talent here that'd work. So the DSR is really in Seattle? Yes, but Mickey York, Trevor Thompson and the hunky Ryan Field are all local...the anchor desk and all the anchors are from Seattle. Aren't you glad you got up this morning to learn that piece of info? Woah! That's not cool. Cameron Wong, too? Haha. Ryan Field looks like kinda....well nevermind... The Wonger too.... What or who does Ryan Field look like? He looks like he wears make up, and his eyebrows are too perfect, I think he likes Williams or something cuz everytime he interviews him he be staring at him in this weird freaky way. sdjslgjsjgksd Hmm, wouldn't Art Regner be jealous?

I'd take Barnaby, cheaper than Lapointe and fills the same role. Don't be surprised to see Detroit inquire about Lapointe though, he was a fav of Holland and team and they hated to lose him. If they could shed a Lang, they might just do it

We got a lot of bad bounces, a lot of pucks that hit guys and ended up on their sticks," Osgood said. "We played a pretty good game, just didn't have it after we went up 3-0, ran out of gas. I don't think we played that bad." Who is Osgood kidding? Baghdad Bob couldn't even defend the Wings performance

These are the goalies that we're going to war with folks....I'd rather focus on why Dallas was allowed to stand in front of the goal to deflect shots and why guys like Woolley stood around with his finger up his nose. Or how about Lebda trying to play goal, this defense needs to get better
-
He has not put in the consistent effort needed to show he's ready for the NHL. His talent and size are indisputable, it's his heart that's always been in question.

next seasons free agent signing priority #1
Barnes52 replied to paul woods fan club's topic in General
Yeah Redden and Cara likely would be out of our payscale and Jovo is just no the kind of guy we need. Off that list I like Kubina, Witt, Norstrom, and Markov. Maybe Mitchell or McKee. Big, sound, safe. peace The Sabres kinda waited to the last minute before they gave McKee a solid offer. But now, I don't think they'll want to let him go. He's been blocking shots left and right and has regained his form from seasons past. Jay would be great for the Wings though. As I stated before, I would love Mitchell. In him I think we could get what I had originally expected from Andreas Lilja; a big, strong defenceman who chips in a solid hit occasionally and keeps mistakes to a minimum. After this season, I say we dump Lilja, and sign the slightly more expensive Willie Mitchell. I bet Holland signs Lilja, I have a feeling they like his play. So unless Lilja leaves, count him in any scenario regarding defensemen -
Hey, your english is great...better than mine Seriously, you make your point very well

Bootland scored again!!! Don't get ahead of yourself on Clay Wilson, he's putting up the points but is a -3, he's terrible defensively
