Why there is ZERO risk of losing McCarty on waivers when called up
norrisnick replied to Son of a Wing's topic in General
Actually the risk is zero because he was in GR on a conditioning assignment and thus is exempt from the waiver process. -
Make Cheli a coach. Lilly can play every single game and his body can take far more abuse than Cheli these days and that's exactly what their role calls for. Being able to take physical abuse and keep going out there shift in shift out game in game out. Chelios and Lilja fill the same role at the same cost and for the sake of being able to integrate a kid next year, I say keep Lilly.

End of the regular season unless you're still playing in the playoffs.

Two more words. Followed by two more after that. Screw Tavares. Victor Hedman.

This one is doubly hilarious considering Staal is 6'4"-ish and 200+ lbs...

That reason being the potential impact of a hulking smooth-skating two-way blueliner is far greater than if he were a hulking smooth-skating two-way forward.

Umm... Ellis was waived. Kenny didn't take him behind the Joe and Old Yeller him.

I thought Jokinen seemed anything rather than ok. He looked dazed and then about ready to kill the reporter who asked him how scared he was.

Zednik was very lucky that he was able to stay on his skates and had the presence of mind to get his ass to the bench. He started fading 5 steps or so off the ice, so he didn't have a lot of time. Speedy recovery, Zed!

These three guys have provided 30 goals and 47 assists. Unless you're planning on trading them for Kovalchuk, it would be rather counterproductive to move them to bring in secondary scoring.

Better pic of the kid above. This kid is nothing short of pure awesome and win...

Would you go to a Premier League game in the U.S.?
norrisnick replied to Jwo's topic in Other Sports
Nope. Unless of course they brought a stadium full of chanting, cheering, singing, drumming, whistling, fighting, etc... fans with them. -
Easily. Miracle might get close if the CCCP hadn't given up a goal in 6 years worth of games. And Gardner only won because Karelin's hands slipped apart during a clinch and he then pretty much stalled the rest of the match not trying anything remotely aggressive. That and Karelin is in one of the scariest sports photos ever. Imagine that guy mad at you...

I need help with the math for the rest of the season...

If stats worked Vegas would be out of money. -

To clinch the playoffs we need 15 wins assuming the 9th seed wins every remaining game. To clinch the division we need 16 wins assuming Nashville wins every remaining game. To clinch the Conference we need 20 wins assuming San Jose wins every remaining game. To clinch the League we need 20 wins assuming San Jose wins every remaining game. Those numbers will fall as the teams behind us fail to win. Math is rough so there may be mistakes. -
RE: Homer's shirt. Brooklyn, Bronx, & Queens. I like this picture of the boys getting sloshed post-Torino.

I don't care so long as it isn't with the Wings.

How 'bout Filppula + Emmerton + two 1sts for Kopitar? I've always enjoyed a handful of nickels for a dollar trades...

Which is a steal.

Max creates a lot of chances he's not good enough to finish. He's pretty much the exact opposite of the type of player we need.

The Wings are on pace to finish 23 points ahead of the 2nd best team in the league. At some point the MVP of a team that dominant needs to be recognized ahead of a player barely eeking his team into the playoffs. Lafleur won the Hart in '77 on the most dominant team in league history (Robinson finished 5th, Big Bird also won the Norris with two teammates in the top 5). Granted he also won the scoring title, but the way Nick is running away from the pack in the Norris race it's comparable.

As for Wings v Leafs, Kubina and Hudler will go at it. They always do. Not fights but various extracurriculars.
