Barking up the wrong tree. I'm pretty sure Matthias won the Byng equivalent in Juniors. He's a big body, but does not venture into the rough stuff.
-
Same was said of the Flames and Sharks. Crushing the Ducks in round 1 would be a nice kickstart to a lengthy spring... Plus I'd much rather face a team slumping and dropping down to the 8th spot than a team that has been in playoff mode for a couple months clawing their way in. Those are the types of teams that have nothing to lose and fight tooth and nail for everything. Ducks are fat and lazy and ripe for the picking.

How about you tell me? At last Lydman is making an attempt to outmuscle. I'm not buying random assertions that Tallinder has some sort of physical edge that Lydman doesn't possess. Sorry. Lydman registers more hits and blocks more shots. He's a bit looser with the puck, but we're not exactly in dire need for a puck mover. If he can get the puck to his partner, we're fine. Oh and the reason Godard has no hits is because he can't skate and he doesn't play. Yet he registers a hit every 10.8 minutes whereas Draper notches one every 12.5 minutes. A bit silly to look at raw hit totals when one guy plays 3 times as much as the other.

Lydman has outhit Tallinder 104 to 24 this season.

Which would explain why Nashville plays the team closest to it, at best, once a season...

Douglas is a f'n tank. Youtube him.

But not a roster spot.

Exposure on ESPN is meaningless if you have the people on their flagship shows (Sportscenter, PTI, etc...) making fun of hockey and the NHL at all times. That doesn't grow the sport if casual viewers get bombarded with negatives about the NHL. Better to be treated with a bit of respect on a lesser station. Ideally the NHL needs to beg NBC into getting a primetime slot one day a week. With the writer strike you never know.

You're trading Z to LA and not getting Kopitar back in return? WTF is wrong with you?

Check your posts. You do nothing but cry about Red Wing bias and homerism. And you do it on a website called LetsGoWings. Give it a rest. It's a tired schtick that better posters than you wore out long ago.
-
Of course he was, and that comes with being a Kings fan. But at least it gave him an excuse rather than parading around as Lord of Wing Fans and vanquisher of all evil homers. It's lame. Particularly on a website named as LetsGoWings.

For f***'s sake... don't you ever get tired of whining? As an aside you aren't nearly as cool as Unagi.
-
Yes, but for completely unrelated reasons.

Incredibly hard considering the Nucks (who didn't have a 2nd or 3rd rounder) feverishly worked the phones to trade up in front of our pick. Similar to the Berglund situation with the Blues in '06. They traded up and snagged him 4 spots before our pick so we ended up trading down to get two guys in the 2nd round. And the Berglund one hurts because he's an amazing talent.

He's 22. Wanna take a guess on how old Pavel and Z were when they finally crossed the pond? Z was 22 and Pavel 23. I hate you RED....
-
Kenny has.
-
Yes. Just like that. It's what we're playing for anyway, so we might as well get it done.

You're forgetting that losing Kronwall will have a bigger impact than adding Sundin. Contending teams that make deals at the trade deadline do not remove integral pieces from their roster. It just doesn't happen. And believe me Kronwall is integral. If Kronwall had a right-handed shot he'd be our #2, but since Raf is a righty he gets the primo slot next to Nick ES and on the PP.

Contrary to what you might infer from birthplaces, Kubina is essentially Rob Blake but younger. He doesn't use his ass quite as much checking but they play fairly similar aggressive styles. Nasty in front of the net, decent outlet passes, and a bomb from the point.
-
Special Ed down in Phoenix is probably the only defenseman I wouldn't take ahead of McCabe. Kubina's money was bad when he signed it, but not anymore when you've got Jay McKees making $4M/yr and Brent Sopels and Hal Gills at $2M+. Kubina has managed to maintain a positive +/- on some horrificly inept Leaf teams. And it's not like he's hiding either. He's playing over 24 minutes a night. And it's not so much the Leafs' defensemen (though McCabe and Gill are pretty iffy) as their complete lack of a defensive system. Kubina would be amazing on the other side of one of our Nicks.
-
Hal wouldn't be an upgrade over Lilly in any meaningful way. Kubina being signed for 2 more years isn't necessarily a bad thing. He'd be a great complement to our top 3 of Nick, Nik, and Raf. Expensive? Yes, but he's been a #1/1A on a cup winner before. Has great physical tools. He's nasty in front of the net. Would take Sammy off the PP point forever, as he'd be a righty for the 2nd unit. Etc... And $5M wouldn't hamper a new deal for Z. Dom's $4M cap hit is coming off the books. Osgood and Howard will be cheap for the forseeable future. Cleary and Fil might get pricy, but we'll see. I just think picking up a guy that would bump Lilly down to depth status would be preferable than adding depth behind Lilly, which is what Gill would be.
-
Holland is looking to ADD to our defense. Not subtract. Quincey/Meech and a 2nd for Kubina is far more likely if we're dealing with the Leafs.

Players that missed 100 days due to injury the previous season are also eligible. As well as entry-level contracts.

Everyone's seen the Ranger/Cap shootout from that first season out of the stoppage, right? I believe it was 15 shooters a side. A couple clutch goals by the Rangers to keep it alive and then Marek freakin' Malik does this.
