Someone is going to have to point this out for me as I've never seen it. Hudler is willing to go nose to nose (or sternum) with anyone. He's mucked it up with Brad Winchester, Pavel Kubina, etc... All are considerably bigger than he is. IMO the one thing, beyond his elite skill level, that will help him overcome his stature and skating is his tenacity. Hudler is fearless.

They both should have gotten 5+Game last night. Since Pronger was skipped in game 3, he'll serve game 4. Scott should know this isn't an either/or situation. Both were at fault (Pronger a bit more than Special).

No they shouldn't. We don't have a fighter so we shouldn't give them any sort of battle that they can win and take as a positive out of this game. And we definitely shouldn't sink to their level as it's a battle our team will lose 10 times out of 10 against the Ducks. Against Calgary, Jarome and Co. were practically begging for a fight or two that they could hang their hat on, and we didn't oblige them. Why should we give them what they want? Burkie spent a 2nd on Parros, and he's not even dressing. We're hitting about as much as they are. Our guys are not shrinking away from the hard areas of the ice. In fact guys like Z and Pavel are initiating at times. We've neutered their one real advantage, physicality. At this point they're just digging a hole trying to stir s*** up, and if that's what they want we should hand them a shovel and not a ladder.

Hockey being a national passion for Canada has no bearing in this as Canada as a whole isn't involved. Just because Z is a huge soccer fan doesn't mean he's any less passionate about HIS sport than anyone else. Baseball is America's past time. You think Cheli isn't passionate about hockey? Hasek? All these guys picked hockey as their sport. Their livelihood. You bet your ass they're passionate about it.

North American vs European is a tired and worn out argument. Chicken-Swede captains will face off for the Cup this spring. As for picking one of North American or European, I'll take the winners. The Wings have far more winners on their roster than the Ducks. As was mentioned, by Dreger I believe, the Wings know how to close things out once they get close. After tasting bitter defeat in '95 and '96 the Wings have won it all every time they've managed to reach the Conference Finals from there on out. '97, '98, and '02. Which also goes hand in hand with winning the last 11 games where clinching a series was possible. But yeah... nationality is meaningless to all but Cherry and his ilk these days.
