WTF, Ken Kal in the pregame talk asked Babcock about Filppula and Babcock replied that "Fil and Huds have been fantastic..." So you scratch a guy that's playing fantastic? ******* mindboggling...
-
Not at the expense of a guy with two points in the first two games. He's made plays. He hasn't made mistakes. He's part of the 2nd most effective line so far. We need all our lines producing, like the 4th has been so far, if we want to go anywhere. Babcock needs to never mention the word accountability again.

I call this one "Please hit me! Please hit me!" That or Homer and Kipper are collaborating on an interpretive dance about the Hindu god Vishnu...
-
He's been playing out of his mind. Luckily I don't think he can get any better than he's playing now, so we just need to keep peppering him.
-
Oh, it's happened before. Not recently, but he was destroyed by Shanahan a few years ago.

You'd better be if you know what's good for you...

Don't you DARE start this bulls***.... It's bad enough we get this clown coming around twice or thrice a year or so running around in circles about the game winning goal (and standings points) we don't need you doing the same! We scored 4. They scored 1. By rule our 2nd is the game winner. Period. End of discussion. Thanks for coming.

Fil and MasterBlaster (Hoodlum and 'Stein) were our 2nd best line tonight. Babcock would be stupid to break it up.
-
It's a lot easier to ease in a 2nd liner than it is to ease in your top defensive defenseman.

Z has always come across as a snotty punk, yes...
-
Yes. A partially blocked one-timer that barely slid by Aebischer.
-
As of now the only definite thing Florida gets (got) is Matthias. If Bert re-signs they get a 2nd in '08. Bertuzzi has to play 2/3ds of our playoff games for the '07 pick that's either a 3rd rounder, a 2nd (if we get to the Conference finals with Todd playing 2/3rds of the games) or a 1st if we get the Stanley Cup with Todd playing 2/3rds or the Conference Finals with Todd playing 2/3rds and top 5 in scoring (for the Wings).

Lidstrom. Had Z finished the year on the tear he was on he could have stolen that title which Nick has held for a long long long time now.

Speaking of sigs we may have to disband... *sniff* it was fun while it lasted but the dispatching is all but impossible now.
-
The series ends in 5 so this is a moot point.

Coulda had one of the regulars pimp it for you. Everyone read this!! It's an invaluable source of info for any Red Wings fan!

should we split up datsyuk and zetterberg ?
norrisnick replied to zetterbergfuturemvp's topic in General
It's still hockey and ZDH is still a well balanced line. They've never been hotter than they were this year. And remember that Bertuzzi and Calder were brought in so we would spread the wealth without having to split up that top line. Without the acquisitions, yes we would have had piss poor secondary scoring, but Kenny fixed that. -

Homer apart from Z and Pavel is mostly useless during 5on5. Bertuzzi was brought in (along with Calder) to breathe life into the 2nd line. No sense to completely stack up that one line and weaken the rest of the forward corp. -

If Z is only half as effective as he was the month or so before he got hurt, that line won't be shut down even if the Flames toss everything they have at it. That leaves the rest of the Wings to square off against secondary defenders leaving Bertuzzi, Calder, and co. more open ice and more points. Split them up if the rest of the team can't score enough (or prevent enough goals) to keep us from winning. If we win with only one line, we win so it doesn't really matter. -
There are three Cup winning (as starters) goalies heading into the playoffs. We have two of them...
-
Not only no points but a -1 to boot...

Is it bad that I'd consider 222 a nice target weight? I'd have to have a limb removed to drop below 200 and I'm "only" 6'...

Emmerton cannot play for the Griffins full time until he's 20. It's Wings or back to Juniors for him next season. Same as it was for Kindl and Helm this season. Also signing him early doesn't make him a free agent early unless he's actually playing and using up those years. Helm and Kindl both signed three year contracts last year and both still have three years left on them because playing in Juniors doesn't use up a year.
