Nothing beats Marc Bergevin catching a dump in and throwing it past a stunned Roman Turek. In the playoffs no less.

Hawerchuk's last highlight reel play...
-
Same assurance? Hardly.
-
According to the numbers he's had 8 missed shots during his current drought. I can't find numbers for how many of his shots have been blocked so we don't have a full number of times he's wound up and fired.
-
I take it you were in there?
-
Apparently he gets even less respect here. It's Nicklas, not Niklas.
-
Don't forget that there is term to consider as well. Different lengths will usually call for different totals. And in Pavel's case the numbers weren't close (Kenny actually broke off negotiations for a while because it was pointless to keep talking). On top of all that there is negotiating strength to be considered, the UFA market, comparable players' contracts (potential contracts), performance, age, health, potential, etc... It's not nearly as easy as having two numbers and splitting the difference, because HOW those numbers come about vary greatly.

And Sergei has had some bad injuries as well. Nothing so severe as to keep him out of the lineup, but wrist/elbow/rib/abdominal issues that won't let him nearly as explosive or dynamic offensively as he could otherwise. I believe there was a stretch of games where he wasn't able to even take a slapshot. Imagine Schneider without his slapper. Not too pretty of a thought is it? Edit - to address the bold I present one Jose Theodore to be considered.

Parm was 19. Tavares is 16. Those three years make a WORLD of difference at the Junior level. Not to mention that Parm wasn't even leading the CHL in goal scoring that season.
-
No he won't. He'll be taken 1st in the draft after that. He missed the cutoff for the '08 draft by 5 days. Tavares, provided he doesn't get bored and lazy, will put up some RIDICULOUSLY stupid numbers in the next two years.

You mean like Bertuzzi? Fedorov has come FAR closer to earning his $6M than Todd has to earning his $5.whateverM this year. Depends on how his switch to defense works out. BJ fans are saying that what he's shown so far is better than any other defenseman they've had in the last couple years. I'll still hold on to hope that they move him next deadline. Kenny should make a call if he's available. No one knows better than the Wings, what Sergei is capable of doing in the playoffs.
-
He has one year left. He signed for 5 years before the '03-'04 season. Makes him a perfect deadline acquisition. Don't re-sign Schneider and let Kindl play the regular season before bringing in Sergei for the Cup run.
-
Let me guess, we don't have room for a guy like Zubov or Kaberle either? If Fedorov embraced the position switch, he'd be our #2 defenseman.
-
I know. I just want Fedorov's career to end how it's supposed to end. In a Red Wing sweater.
-
There is a world of difference between a +16 on the Wings and a +16 with the Pens. Not to mention that Jordan has been the anchor for the Pens' PK from square one (his first 3-4 goals were all shorthanded and leads the league and set a rookie record for SHG).
-
Look at the thread title. Who would you rather have on the blueline, Fedorov or Schneider? I vote for the Russian.
-
That they are. The quote was expanded a bit in an Mlive piece. “Huds can score, and if he just learns to back-check and compete every night he can be a real good player,†Babcock said. “A lot of people talk about his skating; his skating’s fine if he works at it. To me, this guy has a chance to be a difference-maker and that’s what you need in this game, guys who can score and generate.â€Â

I think Joey's goal was in game 1. Game 4 was Nick from the point early and then Mac's dangle.
-
I'd like to point out to those posters hoping for it, there is no chance in hell that Bertuzzi fights Tootoo any time in the future. Not because he couldn't, but it's utterly stupid to pull Todd off the ice for a useless plugger like Tootoo.
-
Tootoo is Maltby without the defensive presence and with added springs in his skates.
-
You people are all crazy. High and Wide needs to be dropped like a bad habit.
-
I see it t his way. With Kindl on the Wings I don't see any room for Schneider.
-
Well, now that Z tweaked his back carrying the team for the previous month, month and a half... What was it? 7 consecutive 1st Stars in Wing wins? Let's just say I prefer the version with Z healthy and leading the way, but I do like that other people are contributing in his absence. Hope they keep it up when he gets back.
-
4? Closer to 10. 1st Team All Star 7 of the last 8 seasons (top 6 for the last 10).
-
Because they also notice the mistakes. No one is denying that he puts up numbers, but he's old, somewhat expensive, and we've got younger cheaper guys that could be inserted into the lineup. At least they would learn from mistakes rather than having them be the byproduct of decades of not knowing any better.
