1. We'd be way over the cap (bringing in $5M and moving out not quite $2M with your proposal). 2. I don't think Burke would go for it. 3. I don't really like the trade itself. IMO Lang would have to be the focal point otherwise there is no chance of Sykora coming over (with regards to cap room). We'd also have to move or demote somewhere between $500K and $1M to make it work. Lang + a pick (3rd or so) might work for those two (provided they're available to be had). Burke would have zero interest in Hudler as he's chock full of young forwards already. Not to mention he's an enforcer/size fanatic. peace

As long as it's good beer. Something German would suffice. peace

Hmmm... I don't think you could go wrong with a nice home Osgood jersey. Maybe you can find a nice gameworn #42 Avery on Ebay? peace
-
1sts plural? It'd be what we have to give up for three solid young players but Florida would never go for it. What good are a bunch of 1st round picks if you give up the players that those 1st round picks MIGHT provide? peace

Depends on the beer. The broad category of "beer" spans from some of the best beverages to some of the worst. peace

WindsorPlaya, this comment was completely uncalled for. I have not been insulting to you in any way in my responses. I have not said you were crazy for this idea as some others have in this thread. Yet you singled me out for a crass comment when all I have done is argued my point of view as rationally as I could. If you don't agree with me, fine. We can agree to disagree. But making comments like that are completely unnecessary. If you're tired of stating your case in a well-mannered fashion, fine. We'll just stop this conversation. Seconded. These kinds of comments have no place on the boards. peace

I'm not sure if Holland wants the two you listed but he definitely needs them. Lang's salary equals theirs combined... Though 1. I highly doubt Burke wants to pick up one semi-expensive center for two moderately priced defenders. 2. If Burke were to want to move Carney and/or Salei he wouldn't package them both to the same team and especially not to a Western Conference team. 3. I was tought these things always had to be in threes. peace

There's a quick two that I do believe you're hinting at. Plus a couple more whose absence sort of disqualifies them from contention. peace

Teams can't eat salary in a trade under the new CBA. Also Sykora wouldn't be a Czech to pair with Lang because Lang + ?? would have to be shipped off in order to fit in Peter and Ruslan's contracts under the cap. peace

I warned you not to push it. peace

180lb was his draft weight. He's steadily increased that over the 4-5 years since. Severstal has him listed at 98KG ~ 216lb. And to note the RSL aren't a bunch of bigger=better slappies like North American leagues so there really is no need for them to embellish his weight. peace

Nope, certain players (entry level, older players, and previously injured players) are the only ones eligible for incentives. They still count. peace

There were a couple still available at 42. peace

5 on 5 Maltby - Draper - Franzen have been dominating shifts all over the ice. Last night they drew two penalties. Those goals will come. They are a line BUILT for the stretch run and playoffs. Allison is not going to be any more effective than the skill guys we already have and is absolutely useless in trying to prevent goals being scored against his team. peace
-
But we're not trading LANG for Allison. We're getting BOTH by moving Draper. EDIT - in this crazy trade hypothetical. not real life, cuz we're not getting Allison. peace
-
The point here is that we have zero need for Allison and what he brings to the table. We have Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Lang, Draper, Franzen, Williams, Hudler on our roster that are all natural centers. Some offensively minded, some defensively minded, and Hank being damn solid going both ways. What good is removing our best defensive center for another offensive minded one? Sure we save some cap room but we could do that in a number of different ways. The Draper/Maltby/Franzen line is doing everything you could ask of them (aside from actually potting the goals). peace
-
Why would we want Allison? We have Lang. The same player except one is Czech and the other is Canadian and a couple years younger yet much more injury prone and slower. peace

While Lofberg didn't make the short list for Sweden's WJC team, Ritola, Axelsson, and Ryno did. Whether they're on the final roster still stands to be seen. peace

A last place team that picked up a lot in payroll to start the season could be viewed as a big seller (especially with their money problems). They have a lot of parts that I'm sure they'd love to be rid of *cough*Gonchar*cough*. peace
