All golfing.

Because he's a right-handed shot that can play the PP (former Eddie Shore winner in the AHL). They needed one when they traded away Montador. You have to remember that this is Sheldon and not Wade. He's a tough guy, but he can actually play unlike his brother.
-
Why didn't McIver and Reitz play in the "real" season?
-
Z wore #15 during the annual rookie tournament in Traverse City. Before training camp ended he had #40.
-
That would also make them the first to be given away.
-
1. Bobby Hull was never a Red Wing. 2. Bobby Hull never wore #20.
-
Fischer switched back to #2 after Hatcher was bought out.
-
Pyett played for Canada at the WJC.
-
Yeah, I think Pyett is slowly but surely fading out of the picture. I have high hopes for Nicastro. A positional two-way defenseman with the added bonus of a right handed shot.
-
It is 4. A few of them he tried his hardest to get the puck across the ice, but the lanes were covered. At that point it's safest to put it away than risk a turnover the other way.

I want no part of Luongo or any other $5M+ goaltender. We'd just be pissing money away. No goalie can win without a great team in front of him. And if you've got a great team you don't need a "great" (see also expensive) goalie. You just need one that won't lose a game for you. Luongo lost a couple these playoffs. Osgood hasn't. The only replacement for Lidstrom is a defenseman that can control all 3 zones for a lot of minutes. The single best option in the league (taking into account age as it's pointless to replace Nick in 2-3 years by a guy that will be running on fumes then as well) is Jay Bouwmeester. Very close is Duncan Keith. I'm also very high on Marc-Edouard Vlasic but I want to see if he can develop some more as he's still ridiculously young.

But which line shut them down? The fact that Kane and Toes were both -3 on the day should give you a hint.
-
Considering Orr's '70 season he won the Cup and Conn Smythe along with the Art Ross, Hart, Norris, etc... it trumps the ever loving crap out of Wayne's '82.
-
Babcock starts out talking about Holmstrom but it's very clear the latter part of his statement is referring to multiple players.
-
You're forgiven.
-
You can't break up the Cleary - Z - Franzen line (again). Mix and match whatever else you want, but that line is dominant both ways. Z/Pavel together won't outplay that line.
-
It is. You've got two elite playmakers that have passed their way to scoring titles and Hart trophies. One figured out that passing the puck alone isn't going to cut it in the playoffs. The other hasn't.
-
He's playing great defensively, what's the other way?
-
One has nothing to do with the other.
-
Check out Forsberg's career playoff goal numbers. Check out Thornton's numbers. The elite playoff performers figure it out that being a pure playmaker isn't going to cut it. Pavel has scored 30+ a couple times in the regular season. 1 goal in 12 games isn't going to cut it.
-
Maybe October through April, but after that? Not a chance.
-
One of the very few times I'll say this, but I agree 110%. If Babcock would just keep him off the PP point, 90% of the things I hate about Sammy would go away.
-
Crap completely forgot about Fil. Put him and Leino/Sammy around Pavel. Then let Draper/Abby/whoever play on the 4th.
-
Franzen - Z - Cleary has to remain intact. Hudler - Helm - Hossa was a nice line in game 7. Homer - Pavel - Sammy? Leino - Pavel - Sammy? Whatver is left over.
