I'm looking for the Maple Leafs payroll for the years that the Wings won the recent cups 97, 98, 02 I am also looking for the Wings payroll in those years. I tried googling but it's taking forever and nothing is coming up. I know this information is out there somewhere!! Please help!!

it's been around for awhile now. it's unofficially been called the rob ray rule since he used to take off his jersey to fight so the other guy could't grab on to anything. after they added the rule he used to pull his arm out of the sleeve and out from under the jersey so no one could stop his punches by grabbing his sleeve but then the jersey was stil tied down.

After the Wings lost in the first round in the playoffs last year a Leafs fan told my girlfriend that he'd rather the Leafs NOT make the playoffs than to be embarassed in the first round.

I think the reason that the league hasn't foreced the issue yet is because Bettman and his gang of idiots have been busy with real issues like changing the names of the divisions and conferences, changing the name of his title from president to commissioner (anyone wonder why it's still called the presidents cup?) making teams play each other 8 times in the division without having playoff seeding within the division. (the younger kids probably don't remember that) and trying to figure out whether to keep giving 2 points for winning and a point for losing or to give 3 points for winning or 2 points for losing one way and 1 point for losing another way, and giving Florida 2 teams and Callfornia 3 teams, whether or not to make the nets bigger and rounder and not letting the goalie play the puck and well all the other burning issues on Bettman's to-do list. It took a girl dying in the stands to get the netting up. Hopefully it won't take something that severe on the ice.

Agreed. His 2 selke trophies attest to his defensive skills and you also left out his pearson trophy. i think it says more when your peers vote you as the mvp rather than the writers.

The big thing was that he turned Lemieux away every time. I saw an interview with Hasek one of the times that Lemieux retired and he said that was what made buffalo take any interest in him at all for that whole Beauregard, Ruuttu three way deal.

LOL... new??!?!?!?!? . go check the '92 stanley cup finals highlights and you'll see him doing that for the hawks against the penguins when belfour got pulled. he's been nutmegging guys for years. he did it with us in 01- '02 (including against carolina in the finals) and all thru his career in buffalo. he's always been a nutmegger and a wanderer. i dont' think at this point in his career it'll ever change.

with the exception of lidstrom, i can't really see anyone on this team who could even be mentioned in the same breath as howe, sawchuk, lindsay, yzerman et al. i mean seriously. when all is said and done chelios will be considered among the great American players but his career is spread out over three teams so i can't see the wings retiring cheli's number.

Hey interminded, as far as the smoking goes, i smoked 3 packs a day and quit in january of '05. Almost 2 years now. It is honestly the hardest thing i've ever done. It was harder than recovering from my car accident. (17 broken bones) I still crave them once in awhile and i still have to use the nicotine gum when i drink.

Ugh. We bought 2 extra tickets to the New Years eve game and the people we invited can't go. Ugh!
