Icer I think he was talking about the Montreal and Quebec rivalry. Those games were always good even though the Habs won a cup in 85-86 and 92-93 and were usually pretty good, but the Nords always sucked. I too remember watching this game. I didn't hate Patrick yet, but it was still pretty funny. It almost makes me wonder if his team left him out to dry. Maybe the coach wasn't the only one he had problems with. Then again, maybe the Wings were just that good.

Nobody seemed to mind when the Russian Five was playing. Plus Lidstrom, Holmstrom, Sandstrom, Erikkson were all on the team around that time and the Joe was always filled. I guess having Yzerman and Bowman around helped at this time but they still had a lot of European players. I think that a poor economy, not lowering ticket prices after cutting the payroll in half, everyone having big screen high def T.V.'s, and the Wings no longer being the only hot ticket in town have more to do with it.

When I watched this the advertisement before the clip was for the Canadian Ballet and had a bunch of guys dancing around in leg warmers and toe shoes. Not that there is anything wrong with that, I just thought it was a funny lead in. Great brawl. This brings back some great memories. That kid should be ashamed of himself for running like that. He has a helmet on for god's sake.

Well they do have Brad May and Todd Bertuzzi. Last time these two were on a team that targeted someone they ended that players career. I wonder if May put a bounty on Boll like he did with Moore. No matter what anyone does, Brian Burke will be there to defend them. I know a team that should put Pronger in their sights, but they have some class. Go Blue Jackets!

Check out the lady above Draper who I hope is communicating her thoughts to Pronger. Also, I think the hit by Perry on Drake led to the fight where we all learned what kind of a man CP is by not taking his helmet (and visor) off to fight, but also throwing a punch while Drake was still removing his. Oh yeah, and Pronger looks stoned in the last one. Enjoy!

I read somewhere the day before game 5 that they may give it SN for redemption in '03' when they gave it to Giggy. Many felt that SN should have gotten it that year but since the Ducks truly rode to the finals on Giggy's shoulders they had to give it too him. SN scored some big goals, (OT vs Wings, tying goal vs Wings, OT to close out Van.) and he did step up his play when Pronger was out. I have to agree that this was a total team effort and anyone could have won it, including Alfredson. Not a bad choice.

This is almost as bad as another Duck fan saying the following: Three Issues From The Game 1) With the Wings up 4-0, why was Hasek ******** (rhymes with witching) to a linesman (at 3.3 seconds left in the 2nd Period) and to a referee (at the end of the 2nd Period) on obviously some trivial play around him. That's called Hockey. 2) The Wings had a great game. They showed up to play, while the Ducks didn't. (Note: I'm a big Ducks fan that stayed to the end of the game before leaving the Honda Center.) Captain Scott wasn't his usual self at the very least. Good thing the Ducks nabbed one in Detroit already. 3) If there is any solace in this beating that was dealt this evening ... at least the Anaheim Ducks have better fans than the self-titled "Hockeytown" team. With a streak of 29 consecutive sell-outs now (and counting) ... "support" is not a word in the Detroit fan's vocabulary. After I read number three I almost s*** myself because I forgot how stupid humans can be. I think our streak ended at 452 consecutive sellouts, and 19,000 something tickets sold is pretty damn close.

The suspension shoudn't go hand in hand with how much the player was injured. All that means is it's ok to play dirty until someone gets hurt. Holmstrom's neck could have been broken or he could have had severe facial injuries. He was lucky this time. Also, star power should have nothing to do with it. If Lidstrom made the same type of play he should be suspended also. If that is the message the NHL is sending then as a coach it would tell me that it is ok for Datsyuk or Lidstrom to run people rom behind, but it's not ok for Filpula to do it. This play was a clear attempt to injure in a game that was out of reach by a dirty player. Pronger new exactly what he was doing and was so happy when he got his chance. Then he whines like a ***** later in a game when he finally gets called for roughing. He should have been gone.

That and the Wings came out hitting in the first. It threw the Ducks off their game and we took over. Two more games like this and we are golden.

I thought they took his "C" away because he was going to sign an offer sheet with Boston. Then when Boston won the Zdeno Chara sweepstakes they pulled the offer to MO and he had to accept the smaller offer from Dallas. The Stars organization didn't think that was a characteristic of a captain, but they obviously still wanted him back. Can anyone verify this for me? Thanks. Either way, he did put up better numbers so if they did mess with him to get him to play better, it worked. I'd take him on the Wings too, even at his age.
