staying out of the box. 5 on 5 play we can dominate anybody. i'd say that's it. all bad things stem from killing 8 penalties a game.

would like to discuss weber's pp goal. when datsyuk's stick broke would it not have been a much better option to either change the player or go to the bench and get a new stick? he was right at the bench anyway. i've always wondered why just stand around with no stick? i also know that in the history of the league i cannot remember a player killing a penalty with no stick to go off and change and make it a 5 on 3. -

like everyone else is saying. try playing when the puck drops. it's hard because we all know this team will own anyone if they want to. problem is, do they want to? -

i can't get over st louis how well they're playing. goals against is stellar. on a side note i think the key to us winning the stanley cup will be travel. i looked at the brackets yesterday from our last 4 cup seasons and only two times we travelled out west during the course of the 4 cup runs.

Rumours swirling on Toronto sport radio that it will be Detroit/Toronto in Detroit. I'm not so sure only because it seems like more of an all American thing now.

I didn't really want to start a thread about this but it is very true. This team for the regular season anyway needs to learn how to get some of their losses in OT. We are one of a few teams who get little to no points by losing in OT and it could honestly cost us this division. We could be right up there with CHI if we had accomplished this amazing feat.

i know what you're saying because trust me, i love the way he plays. but his money isn't earned by winning board battles. he didn't play well for pitt or us in the playoffs, but played very well for chicago. oh well, franzen just won't cut it. this team requires a pure goal scorer.

agreed, tomorrow is now a pretty big game though.

i love the way hossa plays as well but i can never forget the way he played for us in the playoffs. if he was even decent in those playoffs we could have waltzed our way to the cup. not saying that a non existent franzen is any better though.

teams play better at home, matchups might be a little something??? don't really know cause we're normally very good on the road.

too bad we lost but i thought it was a good game. but yes the offensive flare wasn't there tonight. i wish franzen could just hit the net. at least make the goalie stop the puck. staying out of the box would be good too.

lids is gettin burned. better position up. 4th line is getting killed as well. all in all not a bad period though.

just win damnit and stay out of the box. 1st unit doesn't get any better than toews, kane, hossa, sharp and keith.

sorry i should have specified a little bit in my OP. the losing part was a bit sarcastic, the rest a bit out of anger. it bothers me looking at the standings, seeing the Wings with the most regulation time wins and not being atop the division, conference, or league. just irked i guess.

just watching that's hockey on tsn. panelists and reporters have ALL heard today that the goal that was scored on Howard when Z apparently pushed the player into him SHOULD NOT have counted. no penalty but no goal either. let's see if they start to crack down even more now.

funny that kesler's only problem with the hit is that kronwall didn't drop the gloves after. report should've asked, why drop the gloves after a clean hit? hate that guy
