I just read that we set the record for the most wins in the first half of the season with 30. Pretty crazy. And all this is being done with Lidstrom's ice time down (recently anyway). The fresher he can be come playoff time obviously the better.

I just love this article - How the Mighty Wings Have Fallen

I also remember about 2 weeks before the playoffs started last year I was watching a show on the Score in Toronto. They were all talking up everybody except Detroit and said Detroit had no chance at all, what so ever, to come out of the first round let alone the second round because we just weren't good enough to compete in the West. Totally underestimated the determination of our team. -
Didn't get to see the game. Why was Kronner out anyway?

peter forsberg - only willing to go to ottawa or colorado

Only our own speculation that Detroit is not involved. Forsberg has not said himself that it's only down to 2 teams. Regardless, I would only take him for the remainder of this season. -
We can win this. Not sure about it though. Will be very tough.

I don't think Sopcast works anymore. I was able to watch a lot last year but nothing so far this year.

I would imagine that the Ducks record after 20 games or so will greatly affect Neid's decision. If they are stumbling big time then I could see him coming back and being the saviour.

it's free online until the 9th.

I am getting this same thing about an incorrect billing address. Anyone else have this issue. I'm in Canada.

This trade was probably as good as done. On draft day apparently Redden nixed a deal utilizing his no trade clause. Just read that on Sportsnet.ca.

Rutherford loves Cullen and sorely missed him after he left for the Rags. He's stated that they never did fill the void when he left. Obviously he brings something big for that Canes team.

I don't know if anyone cares at all if he plays in Russia.

I liked the way Markov played but do we really need him back? Lilly was great in the playoffs. I don't think he should be a 7th Dman, unless he forgot his role.

Sitting where we are now with the cap space we have I would gladly give Bert the contract he got from the Ducks. I wasn't so disappointed at first but now I am.
-
Why do so many want Shanny back? His time here has passed and he is not what we need right now. Kenny is going to have to make a trade to get his top 6 winger. I really can't believe how much cap space we have at this point. Not quite normal for the Wings.

Raycroft had a great season in Boston the year before. Don't forget that our defence is very good. We can make any goalie look good. Plus he would have the OZ pushing him to play his best or he won't play at all.
-
I like Kozlov but we do not need that type of player at all.
-
That's hilarious. I thought it was a joke because the difference is so subtle.
-
Normally not a huge deal but I think the Quacks were 9-0 when scoring first in the playoffs.

I am really disappointed watching this now. Knowing how close the Wings were. We were never dominated the way the sens are being right now. The Sens really look like a one line team and even they are getting dominated by the checking line. It's also not fair to have Pronger & Neidermayer together. That's just ridiculous. Time for the Sens to be like the Wings and break up that top line. I guess the Wings and the Ducks are the top 2 in the league.

Randy Carlyle won this series. I honestly think the only reason the Ducks won was because of him. Just think back at how many goals the Ducks scored right on Hasek's doorstep. Neither Calgary or San Jose was willing to do what the Ducks did. We gave up a lot of goals that were dug out from Hasek's snow angel or slipped underneath him. That and bounces (which every Stanley Cup winner needs) was the difference. The Ducks really drove to Hasek and the Wings paid big time. Yes the Wings played very well and this series easily could have been 4-2 Detroit but the difference was very slight. I think this is why I am not that pissed today about the loss. Plus that 3rd was the best period I think I've ever watched.

CBC.ca streams all their games and tonight's game is on CBC. Only thing you'll miss is commercials.
