In a salary cap world, I'm taking the skilled guy over the goon 10 out of 10 times. Enforcers are so worthless.
-
ew, no.
-
lol, Bob Smizik never has a clue.
-
Really? You mean to tell me players shouldn't do that? Excellent point.
-
So? The end result was still a goal because of Kronwall making a bad play. If you're going to argue it like that, then I'll say you can't blame Hudler either because the face of the Penguins player got in the way of his stick.
-
At least he never shot the puck in his own net.
-
All this, depeding of course, that that cap goes up, Hossa has a magnificent season, Zetterberg and Franzen don't opt for FA. What a pointless article. We know Holland wants Hossa long-term. That's why he offered him a multi-year deal.
-
...it's just a number. A number that doesn't belong to anyone in Detroit. Might be a different situation if Franzen was playing in Buffalo.
-
Clearly based on superstition, I think he'll continue to wear 93. Spezza didn't go back to 39 when Dom left Ottawa.
-
Look, I'm not saying they're going to finish last, that's why I said "potentially" top 5, but to suggest their going to be contending for a playoff spot is ridiculous. I'm pretty sure their management isn't dumb enough to trade their first round pick this year for Flippula. Luongo is going to have to have a MVP caliber season for that team to do anything.
-
Vancouver isn't going to offer an amount that would cost them, potentially, a top 5 first round pick. That's why Detroit will match the offer.
-
If it's anything above 2.5, let him walk.
-
Wait, people will welcome Shanahan back with open arms, but not Fedorov?
-
Pretty much the only thing stopping this team are injuries or Osgood not being able to handle more of a work load.
-
I don't know. Their top is 6 is pretty good on paper, but I don't think it has any scary players. Jagr was the straw that stirred that offense.
-
ESPN Radio 1250 said the Wings originally offered Hossa a multi-year deal, but his agent called them back with the 1 year proposal.
-
Listening now. I'll post anything Zetterberg/Filppula contract related
-
He probably said: "If we sign Hossa, you can put up even better numbers next season and make MORE money."
-
Would have rather had Sundin, but I guess I shouldn't be complaining. At all.
-
Best offseason of all time.
-
If it's only 1 year, the dollars involved do not matter. dollars
-
Boy, I remember after the lockout, I thought the Rangers finally "got it" when it comes to free agency and were focused on building a team with good drafting and filling in holes. Now they're just spending every summer.
-
Detroit has about 5 million to spend on a forward. I think they're out of it, too.
-
...and Zetterberg for next year, Which makes it, really, around 5 or 6 million to sign Filppula and whoever else this offseason as Z will get about 5 million more next year.
