We'll keep having incidents like that as long as the league allows players without the puck to be hit.
-
Maltby sure, but why do we want Holmstrom to retire again? I'd like to have him for another 3 years at least. You think if Lidstrom puts up 80 points this year and wins the Norris he'll sign for 3 million?
-
The Wings will have to re-sign Lidstrom next year, and no he won't get 7.45, probably something in the 4.5-5, range. So no, they won't be able to afford Kovalchuk. Ever. As far as trades go, let's say Kovalchuk is available for trade (even though he's said he wants to stay in Atlanta), you'd have to assume that whatever the Wings offer for him can be matched and probably beaten by another team.

Already? Even I'm not this bad.
-
Hossa never looked confortable all year. There was rarely a game where I said "Oh, yeah he's a Red Wing." Never got confortable with Datsyuk. Which in tern made Zetterberg uncomfortable.
-
This. Any time you can exchange your 4th liner for the opposing team's top 4 d-man in the final half of regulation, you do it.
-
Good, hopefully Kopecky is too injured to play anymore.
-
UGH WHY IS HE FIGHTING?
-
Would have been nice if Ericsson had, you know, laid down to block that shot.
-
Hopefully Hossa and Rafalski return for Game 4.
-
If they lose game 4 like they did tonight, then yes.
-
Certainly didn't think Game 4 would be a must-win for Detroit when this series started.
-
Fine. But he's to blame if they lose this game. Can't always take your players' word.

Osgood not stepping up
-
That Stuart-Kronwall pairing has been awful this game.
-
Columbus holds the tie-breaker? Columbus and St. Louis would have the same amount of wins and points, I believe.
-
Terrble. And Conklin played a really great game overall, I though, despite letting in those early shots.
-
What? I thought Osgood is a proven and capable playoff starting goaltender? Now the fact that he doesn't make as much money as some of the other goalies, we should all lower our expectations? If that's the case, then please, overpay for Luongo et al. He's still being paid millions and is still expected to play like an NHL goaltender. Osgood's numbers aren't even good enough for the ECHL.

Osgood looks ready.

It was clearly a post.

Osgood says he is ready to lead the team in the playoffs
Reilly replied to CenterIce's topic in General
I didn't like how Conklin was handled this season. At all. He clearly was having a better season, and despite having good performances, Babcock would sit him in favor of a clearly struggling Chris Osgood and play him in 3+ straight games so he got time to "figure it out," all the while still continuing to lose games. How Osgood managed to start more games this season than Conklin boggles my mind. I believe that had Conklin started that majority of the games, the team would at least be in 1st place overall. Maybe not comfortably, but still in 1st place. -
They have to get Luongo next offseason. It's the only answer. Forget Hossa.
-
You're now just starting to worry about the goaltending? I've been worried since the second week.

For anyone who it's not working for, did you recently download teh Firefox update?

I'm scared in general. I feel like the first round of the playoffs will be the hardest for the Wings.
