WCF Game 6 (5/22) GDT: Red Wings @ Ducks - 9 PM ET
hockeysattva replied to aflac9262's topic in General
From the looks of things this isn't a bad way to leave first period -
It appears nobody has copies of these games...

I want to disagree, but really -- I can't. You are correct; the lines were brilliant.
-
Put up the ten already
-
Awwwwwwwww Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Not even sure whose stick that was

Damn it feels good to be a gangsta

It will not hurt the Wings to continue to work with a better ethic. I am glad they are not moaning about the cheap play and continue with putting this game and series out of touch 5 - 0

do do do doooooooo do do do do this just in, I give the Ducks no credit at all, and thank the majority of the classy Ducks fans who post here, but don't want to be around to read any of the flame I am expecting. We got this one in the bag, but I can't watch this kinda nonsense. Its truly disgusting. The sad thing is that they won't get the suspensions they deserve either.

The Ducks just lost all credibility I had given them.

Duckette, you should always feel welcome here -- period. Sounds like a helluva second game; I hope the ice pack works. Sadly for both teams I do not expect to see much success on the PP. The ice in the pond tends to make puck handling more difficult (to say the least). Plus, you saw the goals in Detroit on much better ice. Not to say your ice is the worst, because it isn't, but you get what I am saying. The worst ice is almost always in the Staples center after a basketball game. Sometimes they have less than two hours between the end of the game and the start of warm-ups. Not too mention all the extra fans can really up the humidity. Anyway, it should be interesting.

You know, I am sure you put some thought into this post and you want people to read it and focus on it and pay attention and respond, but not everyone who wants to start a thread should.

I believe the official word is that he owes him a steak dinner.

For what its worth I have gone to the Pond to see the Wings win and to see them lose, it was way better than the same story in Staples. I give more credit to Ducks fans than Kings fans, which I have recently learned I appreciate more than Sharks fans. I said this part to the Sharks fans, and will say it you all as well. We have lots of Hockey fans here, most of us root for the Wings but we are really fans of good hockey more than anything. You have a good team, and they have a goal tender who I will never forget. However, this all goes I think the best team will win the Cup this year. Do not expect this to go less than six games.

It isn't about negativity if you read the sub topic....

That was such a good game... they couldn't have made me any happier... thank Lidstrom for preventing a million heart attacks. Sammie who would have thought?
-
I would not expect him to take his regular ice time... He got less than half of the normal recovery time -- ten days barely compares with four to six weeks. As another side note or two: Am I the only one who still imagines Fish having really come to his own and paired with Chelios? The call-ups also give some guys a chance at getting their names on the cup. I think its 28 regular season games, two playoff games or one finals game will get you on without petition (if I remember correctly). But, even more importantly -- strong playoff play definitely helps get someone into the NHL on a permanent basis. I have not problem at all with any of our new "kids" being their, and I am not worried about them at all. I just don't want to see more serious injuries.
-
I predict that knowing the game is on and not watching it could have a serious impact on the first date I will be going on. Hopefully nobody calls me to talk about the game... Bring on the Ducks.

On ESPN I just read: "This is hockey. This is playoff hockey, we're playing a great team that's not going to give up," San Jose head coach Ron Wilson said. "You guys are looking for way too much crap out there than just saying that there's two very good teams playing a great series. Whether we could have won the series 4-0 they easily can make the same claim as well. It's 2-2, best-of-three. If you'd have asked me before the series started I probably would have said it would be 2-2 and become a best-of-three." I have been so frustrated with fans, and trash talking in the past days and weeks. What he says is 100% true; the series could be over right now for either team, but it isn't. I love hockey, and this reminds me why it is so exciting to watch. I love the Wings (I really really do) but I am an even bigger fan of good games. I want the Wings to win, but should they lose, I will root for the Sharks -- they are a helluva team and they have been one-class-act.

I have a feeling the skill level of Detroit will provide a cushion many say we cannot achieve in the first period (it will be kinda like the first two games against Calgary). Then the D in Detroit will lock it down. I am going with the "radical" claim that we get two in the first and it ends up two -- nothing or maybe three with an empty net. I really feel like this will be the first game played with true feeling. Hasek won't just be on his back, he will be spectacular in making this happen.

Out of Market for tomorrows game? Too bad...

Well hopefully the game is more than 5 minutes of action... -
I doubt the blunder of having too many men on the wrong side of the puck during an empty net situation will happen again, but I knew something was going to go our way as soon as I saw how greedy they were getting at the end of last game.
