Denver didn't play Indy.

I know. I am just saying I wouldn't throw Steve Smith out on the field during punt returns for that reason. I am not by any means saying that the bears have no class. No, you didn't, but in sense you did. Saying for them to send some low totem pole guy out there to kill Carolina's player, that's no class. Though that wouldn't happen, for you to even say something like that, that's low class. No reason for comments like that. I was explaining why I would not throw Steve Smith out there to catch punt returns. For fear of somebody doing that.

yes but if I am the bears....why not just take some low totem pole special teamer and tell him to kill smith on a punt return.

surprised gowingsgo hasn't jumped in here yet to talk about how the bus is on its way to Motown.

1 more TD and the game is over, the Bears have no offense, none. This isn't the 2000 Ravens, they don't have Jamal Lewis and a QB who can actually complete passes. Seriously, I've seen more people jump on the Bears bandwagon this season than any other team. I don't care about the Superbowl, I just want to see the Bears lose. experience counts so much in the playoffs. Holmgren, Cowher, Shanahan, Fox.....all have tremendous playoff experience, not to mention Super Bowl appearances. Lovie Smith is a good coach, but he doesn't belong to be mentioned in the same playoff breath as those other coaches.
-
I haven't supported one team completely like i have in previous playoffs, but I wouldn't mind seeing Carolina in the Super Bowl. Coach Fox knows how to make the most out of his team and win in the playoffs.
-
the bears have a chance if they can hold the panthers under 10 pts....with carolina winning 7-0 now, i doubt the bears will win. No playoff experience. Carolina is a tough team to eliminate.

I thought for sure that Vanderjerk was going to cry at the end of the game. I hate to see any team lose a game like that, but for vanderjerk...it works perfectly. Great game tho. Tons of excitement and suspense. I love that they flashed the "vanderjagt has never missed a field goal at home during the playoffs" stat right before he attempts the field goal. I knew then the kick would be missed.

nfl playoffs are simple....WIN or GO HOME!! Next Sunday's games: Pittsburgh at Denver Chicago or Carolina at Seattle Winners of next Sunday's games go to Super Bowl XL

Seahawks surprised me in how well they played without alexander. Going to be interesting when they play a team like carolina or chicago next week. Sad to see the New England streak end, but Denver played better last night...they deserved to win. Patroits had an awesome run. Nick Harper is out today for indy...because his wife stabbed him in the knee. Not sure how to comment about that one..just a MEN..be good to your WIFE. lol Also found out that Carson Palmer's career might be over now. How quickly things can turn in sports.

road games at Notre Dame, Penn State and Ohio State are all going to be the toughest challenges of the year.
-
that hit was clearly clean. It's just one of those things. The bengals will be back. They got the core of a championship team.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=afp-...v=afp&type=lgns Do you think Clarett wishes he was back in the Orange Bowl against Miami after scoring the championship winning touchdown?? Never have I seen someone fall so far in just a few years. Had all the talent in the world.
-
Probably the only time i can ACTUALLY say that.
-
true. the only real surprise for me was how well carolina handled new york. New England blowing out jacksonville was not surprising at all. CARSON PALMER IS INJURIED!!! This could make things interesting
-
nice that most of the sites out there suggest that the lions draft defense and not another wide receiver.
-
nope. doesn't work.
-
I agree. I thought it was very classless. Texas deserved to win and like you would want a good defending champion to play, USC played hard to the end. Hats off to the BCS this year. They got the championship game not to mention the other BCS games right for a change. Great bowl season!!

while i agree with you on Vince Young, that he might not be a great NFL quarterback....he is a great college quarterback..one of the best all time. In the NFL, however, Young could be Michael Vick....or he could be Andre Ware. Matt Lienart doesn't remind me at all of Tom Brady, unless there is just that "it" that great nfl quarterbacks have. Lienart is going to be a decent NFL quarterback. The player that will be the most successful in the NFL, is clearly this year's heisman trophy winner. Reggie Bush is a stud. Very special player. Its just a shame he is going to be stuck in Houston for the first part of his career.

HOOK'EM HORNS!! helluva game!

for the games that have been played so far, this is a good bowl season. This florida state-penn state game is amazing. what a game!!
-
Considering it should have been Michigan in that game, not Iowa, I don't feel much sympathy. especially the way Michigan was jobbed by the backyard refs in the Alamo. give it a rest. Michigan seriously doesn't deserve to go to any big bowl games this year after the year they had. No way should they be playing on New Year's Day (Jan 2nd this year)...
-
EXACTLY........... YOU CANT HAVE SMALL CONFERENCE OFFICIALS DOING THESE BOWL GAMES!!!! MICHIGAN GOT SCREWED BY IT......AND NOW IOWA'S GOTTEN SCREWED BY IT!!!!! you can't have favorable refs either. You can't have the Michigan-Nebraska game with refs from the Big Ten or Big Twelve....you have to pick neutral coaches.
-
did anyone else see the end of the iowa and florida outback bowl?? IOWA GOT ROBBED ON THE ONSIDE KICK!!! unless its ovious, how can you make a big call like that with the game on the line?
