When M.S.U. gets a lead, JLS goes completely against what got them to that point. I understand wanting to eat up time when you're ahead, but when you can't run the ball you're going to go 3&out and you'll cut your own throat. I also have NO idea why JLS decided to attempt the 54-yard field goal rather than punt and try to pin the Irish back in their own end. I do disagree about it being a "great game". I think it was a great game to watch. The M.S.U. big plays, the Irish comeback and the overtime were exactly what college football is all about. As far as the Spartans' planting the flag, I think it was a big mistake. Not only was it low-class, but it is going to make things difficult for next year's game and REALLY difficult when the Spartans go back to SB in 2007. I think this was a bigger mistake than the UofM fans who threw water bottles on the field last week. You come to expect a small number of idiots in the stands. You don't expect your team to disrespect someone else's stadium. I agree. They could have done without the flag planting. That was low. Michigan State has owned South Bend. They have more wins there against notre dame than ANY SCHOOL. That stat is enough and they should have celebrated while running off the field.

Michigan State is not in last place and if Michigan State beats Michigan in 2 weeks, then Michigan State WILL be ranked higher than Michigan.
-
my favorite play was the 4th and 1 run by kevin jones/joey harrington when they collided together during the handoff. *smacks his head* IDIOTS!!
-
I started Carson Palmer for my fantasy football team. Great game from him.

I know. I had 4th quarter nightmares. I thought...NOT AGAIN. I am trying not to get too confident in this team. They have a great chance to make a run at a good bowl and the big ten conference. However, they have had big wins before and they lost to poor teams the next week. Next week is against Illinois. Might be a perfect case for that. Let's hope not. Then michigan state plays michigan. Looks like this year's annual game is going to be really good and key in the big ten. I am going to reserve comments til after the illini game tho. Michigan has a tough game in Wisconsin too. I think this game against the badgers will tell you the most about the wolverines.

You do realize that you are no better than that guy that posted in the Spartan thread going on about Michigan now right? Yeah I know. But this thread was to discuss about my this michigan team is overrated. And they are. What does michigan's OVERALL SCHOOL RECORD have anything to do with this year. Michigan State defeated Notre Dame. Something Michigan cannot claim. That can be explained several ways. #1 Michigan State is a better team than michigan and notre dame. #2 Notre Dame got too excited after the win in Ann Arbor and just overlooked the spartans. #3 Michigan overlooked/too much respect for Notre Dame. #4 Bad coaching on Michigan. #5 Just plain old LUCK. I personally would like to say that michigan state is a underrated and a better team than people originally gave them credit for. However, I will reserve more comments about that til after the Michigan-Michigan State game in East Lansing in a few weeks. Its tough to say why michigan state handled Notre Dame (Handled prior to the 4th quarter). Michigan State had no business playing overtime against the irish. They opened the 2nd half and should have ran the irish off the field. They let them back in by state's poor defense and lack of offensive creativity. Sort of similar to how michigan was too conservative against notre dame and cost them their game.

damn. what a difference a week makes for the lions. They look completely pathetic today. And this is against a team that we really if we have taken the next step, should be able to beat. Bye week couldnt have come at a better time for the lions.

Ford Field/General Football Seating Question
timothy1997 replied to MSUDoubleJ19's topic in Other Sports
Glad to help. I have been to Ford Field many times and to be honest. There is not a bad seat in the house. I have sat in the corner endzone section 121 before. I have also been in section 339 and had just as good a view. -
this post should really be in the wings prospects forums. Grigorenko is going to be a good red wing but the key word to this is GOING TO BE. Not a red wing yet.
-
I know what you mean. I was yelling at the tv for state to throw the ball to trannon. State played a great game and no doubt one of the best msu-nd games ever.
-
WOW! what a game. Big win for the spartans. Go Green Go White Go State
-
Final Score: Michigan State 44, Notre Dame 41 in OT. 5th straight win for michigan state in south bend. GO SPARTANS!!!
-
Wow! From a michigan fan saying GO SPARTANS. That is soooooo thoughtful. Almost makes me want to root for Michigan tomorrow as well. Well, maybe not. Hey, they are playing my school. GO EASTERN MICHIGAN! (please don't get beat that bad) at least michigan put eastern michigan out of there misery early in the first quarter.

exactly. To error is human, but to threaten some kid's life just because of a football game is crazy. And no, i am not a member. Just heard about the player getting threats from espn news.

just more proof that buckeye fans are psychotic. http://www.dispatch.com/football/football....0914-D3-00.html

Michigan is not as good as Notre Dame You shut your mouth........ Michigan would have won that game if the damn refs didn't give them the ball when we were inside the 1........ and you guys can't say anything.......all you do is play pansies oh wow Stanton for Heisman....wow 700 yards againt KENT STATE thats a real accomplishment...... you'll see next week....ND will destroy you LOL. I wondered how long it would take for a UofM fan to start bitching about the refs. The refs didn't lose you the game today, your quarterback did. As far as "pansies" go, have you looked to see who you're playing next? Since when is Eastern Michigan University a football powerhouse? The only reason i am "bitching" about the refs is cause EVERYBODY..... the announcers, the radio guys....... said that it would be without a doubt Michigan football.......and what does that little sieve in the replay booth do......HE GIVES IT TO ND WHEN HENNE WAS DOWN....... NIU was better than both Kent State and Hawaii COMBINED........every team deserves ONE cupcake.......but no you guys have to put them all over your schedule.... Oh yeah.....i would take Henne over Stanton anyday.....Stanton has always choked under pressure.....at least Henne gave us a chance to tie..... and if henne didn't throw that INT and we still lost.. you would not be saying that henne lost the game when has stanton choked under pressure. Michigan would have, and should have lost that game last year to the spartans. State lost stanton halfway thru the game. If he was in, that would be a different story. From a spartan fan to a wolverine fan, let it go. You will probably beat us in lansing in a few weeks anyway. I did let it go.........but it came back when you spartan fans have to rub it in..... You come onto a thread about MSU with a comment like this: "Who Cares?!?!? Michigan is wayyyyyyyyyy better." and then you have the cojones to say the Spartan fans are rubbing it in??? Good point! don't bring it unless you are prepared to have it brought back to you.

i will invite some of my old friends whom used to go to these wings chat parties...I might be able to get a few from that. Not sure if i could do it every week or even every other week...but once a month for sure.

of course its all wishful thinking. Speaking of rematches of conference championships, how bout atlanta making a statement against philadelphia last night. WOW! The Falcons are going to be a force this year. Vick took control of that game both by running AND passing. Both teams looked pretty good too. Good tackling game. Won't be surprised to see those two teams match up again.
-
plus..only 2 teams get a bye week in the playoffs. Whatever team finishes in 3rd will have to fight its way even more with an added game plus being the road team in the AFC divisonal round. I see some changing of the guard in the AFC this year. Indy can beat New England...just as long as the game is not in Foxboro. This year, I think the game will be in Indy and this is when the colts will finally advance over the pats. Indy and Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship.
-
any word yet on if parker is going to be the back all year or when staley and bettis get back, will willie get put on the bench?
-
no one said the divison would be won on one game. However, when you consider the play of the team in the recent years and the preseason, this team looked totally different. Lions got to do better playcalling. Going for a draw on 3rd and long was totally questionable. Lions got to take advantage of the big receivers they have. Harrington should throw for 250 every game. The part i did like the most about the play was discpline in not having that many penalties and no turnovers. Overall, I would great that game a "B" for the lions. "C" on offense and "A-" on defense. Great game.

I KNOW...I KNOW. LETS TRADE DRAPER FOR $2!!! see..we doubled the investment off of him. strike now while the iron is hot. i agree with blgillett.....NO WAY!

THE CUP everything else is just not good enough.

Plus michigan played texas at the end of the season. This is week 2. Lots of bugs on both teams. Nevertheless, it was a great game. Texas is going to be good this year. Might have a repeat appearence in the rose bowl.
